Hello! Blah blah blah generic introduction about spawn being redone and me having ideas. I understand its not done and some of these ideas might be already planned etc, but I wanted to suggest some things anyway though.


Massive Shop NPCS: In my opinion, while I understand the server needs to make them obvious and it needs to make money, having FOUR of the same NPC all next to each other that all do the same thing: open the shop GUI, is a bit spammy and pointless in my opinion. Reducing this down to one, and filling the other 3 slots with other useful NPCs, like maybe someone who says "You can do /nick use (name to set your own nickname!" and "You can add symbols after messages to change how you type! + to emote, * to whisper, and )) to talk in OOC!" Etc. Basic information that people can click to potentially help the learning curve along slightly. I imagine a lot of people leave after nobody tells them what to do and just gets super passive in OOC chat about them being noobs. This MIGHT cut down slightly on that.


Factions Warps: A few ideas for factions warps have been brought up in the past. Personally I am in favor of the whole, Add More Ships And a Bigger Docks Section with Warp Ships approach. Its organic and kind of cool. A general warp portal, to the Factions Hub and the Quest Worlds would be handy as well, and just nice to get people into things. In addition, if one doesnt exist already, adding a Quest Hub is quickly becoming a necessity to simplify navigation for new players, given there are now roughly 4-6 Quest worlds give or take.


Factions Embassy: This idea is not my own at all, full credit to @Tubbytundra , Link HERE . Essentially its a building in the Regalia spawn where factions could theoretically rent out spaces to advertize their factions to random new players and RPers. I like the idea because its just another thing to fill spawn and give it more uses besides a Warp Hub and convenient AFK zone. Which is essentially all it has ever been up to this point.


Viable Roleplay Zones: Simple again. Add some benches and interiors to the area around spawn where bored or helpfully inclined players can hang out and casually RP with new players and try to catch them up on the dos and donts etc. As it stands, I have seen some people- mainly @DrFong - hanging out in spawn on occasion to fill this role. Having an area thats simi-loose to accommodate the new players where older players can also hang out and hopefully greet and teach new players some basic information would be a boon in my opinion. (and even if not used, it will look nice, which is worth it)


Information Dump: This is a bit controversial, but players often dont finally take to the Forums until at least a few weeks into their time on Massive, and sometimes (such as in my poor poor case) for up to five MONTHS. As such, many players have no clue what is going on in the world beyond what they pick up in conversation. While that might be "realistic" to a degree, honestly who in the city would REALLY only be finding out about the victory over the Songanskie from some random guy in the bar? Thats common knowledge instantly. Having a small area where staff can regularly update a massive wall of signs or something to catch players up on the basic history of the last 5 years or so would be amazing. Maybe adding a library of some sorts in the area would be a good excuse for this info dumpage, and it would tie into my last point by adding a nice seating area where players can RP.



If anyone else has ideas, I would love to hear them, feel free to toss them in the replies, etc.
