I was wondering if there could be any new Elvhen races, because I didn't think any of the races there fit my character very well. I know a few Dalish things so it would be amazing if the race could be added, I can explain what it is, the gods (they call them the Creators) and such

This sentences itself makes your idea sound selfish. It sounds like you want a new race to be made because you want something to solely fit your own character's niche, instead of thinking for the benefit of the entire server.

If you have a race idea, you should flesh out the ideas, offer out the suggestions, and explain why you think a new addition to races would be a great idea to the lore. If you take a look at Massive's wiki page, you can see how much effort is put through each races. Try to strive for that same quality, and who knows, maybe the race idea will be picked up.

You should read the Cielothar a bit. They have many similarities with the Dalish.

First off, I wasn't trying to be selfish, I am new to this thing, second, I just wanted to share one of my favorite Elvhen races to others, the Dalish have always been very interesting to me and I think some people would enjoy the idea and concept behind them. My character does not fit the entire aspect of Dalish, but that is the point. I would love for other people to get into the Dalish (granted some Dalish are really self-centered) and I figured it'd be a nice add on.

And I don't know where to go for these ideas or what to do, so instead of calling me selfish before actually understanding what I'm trying to do, try to listen to my side. So please, explain exactly what I'm supposed to say and where. I want to know my idea is actually welcome, which is why I wasn't giving too many details

I'm saying that's how it sounds, it doesn't necessarily mean you are actually selfish. It's how that sentence comes off.

I also think my point here was pretty straightforward. Take a look at the wiki and see what the race page is like. You can basically see what the layout is, so at least you know what to talk about for your race idea. If you're just having an exact carbon copy of Dalish (I actually don't know what they are), then it's not really an idea, it's just copying. Your idea should at least take some inspiration from the Dalish and should be something new, a bit of a twist.

I want to know my idea is actually welcome, which is why I wasn't giving too many details

Well, I can't really give out that much criticism and help improve your idea if you won't give out details. No one really understands your point/idea if you don't elaborate on it.

It is from another game (http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Dalish) which is my favorite fandom of all time, so I wanted to share it with this server, and I do want to make a twist. Not sure exactly what sort of twist, but I really love the fandom and want to share some aspects of it with the server, becasue I believe it would help the server a lot

"The Dalish are nomadic elves that seek to recover, inherit and preserve the knowledge and sacred treasures of the two fallen elven kingdoms, the Dales and Elvhenan. They lead nomadic lives, wandering throughout Thedas. Their clans date back to the independent kingdom of the Dales and the Dalish themselves are their descendants. Many Keepers are descended from the nobility who governed the Dales. The Dalish are considered to have the "purest" blood from the time of Arlathan. They still revere the elven pantheon, and in a ritual to commemorate reaching adulthood each member of a tribe will have the symbol of their chosen god tattooed on their face"

I know but there are specific things about the Dalish that I believe would make role playing even more interesting, thanks for the suggestion though

Please expand on your idea if you think it's worth it. This is quite vague, as is this whole thread so far. My advice is to flesh out your ideas before posting, and give reasons for why. Why will this better the server? Can you add some pros? Maybe even some cons?

So if you do read the wiki and think of some ways we could change it so it won't be copyright, I would greatly appreciate the help

In my opinion, it all explains it in the wiki (I linked it above somewhere). The Dalsih are a really....unique race. Sometimes they can come off as a bit strong or straight forward, while sometimes they come off as helpful and selfless. Just like some role players on the server. It's their personality and the aspect of them that I believe would make the server greater. Like they all follow their Keeper, (the leader) and what the Keeper says. And there isn't just ONE Dalish clan, there are several, each with a unique sense of personality, but follow what the Dalish believe in ("The Dalish are nomadic elves that seek to recover, inherit and preserve the knowledge and sacred treasures of the two fallen elven kingdoms, the Dales and Elvhenan. They lead nomadic lives, wandering throughout Thedas. Their clans date back to the independent kingdom of the Dales and the Dalish themselves are their descendants. Sorry if this is no help still

You could always make a Cielothar or Avanthar who's like an explorer or some sort of researcher :3

The Cielothar and Avanthar follow their village Elder or Warband Leader, (their leader), and what the Leader says. There isn't just one unified Avanthar and Cielothar race, there are several tribes and village compounds each with a unique personality, but follow the Faith of Estel. The Avanthar are nomadic Elves that seek to establish a new world for themselves, while the Altalar seek to recover, inherit and preserve the knowledge of the past of the fallen Elven Empire. The Avanthar however wander through the lands of the Ullaren Wilds. Their Tribes date back to the Empire of the Elves as do all other Elven groups. Many of the Leaders also descend from Elven Nobility and regional princes and governors. The Saivalthar are considered the purest blood from the time of the Empire's Zenith. They all still revere the Elven Pantheon, and engage in rituals dating back to those days.

I think what the players are trying to illustrate is well explained in the paragraph above: you're not suggesting something new, and all of these things already exist in our existing racial lore. I think the people who have replied to this thread essentially feel you didn't bother to read the lore and immediately wanted to import Dalish Elves, even though what is considered their "niche" and what makes them interesting, already exists in varying layers of the lore.

TLDR
Erzly and Narju are saying that you should list and write about your race. Aka: Culture, Eye color, world placement. And be sure to consult the guide when you do make it, it can be a huge help.

Ok ok, so I think what Erzly and Narrju are trying to say quotes:
"My advice is to flesh out your ideas before posting, and give reasons for why." And "Your idea should at least take some inspiration from the Dalish and should be something new, a bit of a twist." are going over your head. They're meaning try and list some stuff about the Dalish, like eye color, religion, height, language and so on. Try and intrigue us about how the Dalish live and how they're viewed by others. Do Alior and Orcs have connections to them? or Are they viewed as lesser beings by other races, add some bone to it.
But I want to really really drive it in, when you're making a race, consult the wiki. <here> It'll be a lot easier and might give you ideas on how your race fits in to the world. Like where they live and what their culture is like. That's the twist they wanted you to add to your race. There's some initiative you gotta take when making a well and intriguing race that'll effect the world.

(Edit: as new comments have been made I want to say if you continue to make a character try and follow this.)
~hope this helped.

That's not what I was trying to do at all. I read the lore and all, and the Dalish and the other races are very simular but it's a....I don't know how to explain it. It's basically like religion. Lets say it's Mormon and Catholic. But you want to be Christan. Christan and Catholic are very, very similure, but have their own aspects that makes them unique, if you understand what I'm trying to say.

This actually really did help, thanks (also sorry if I'm being such a pain in the butt, I have some personal issues I'm trying to deal with)

The Dalsih do not have specific aspects about them, like certain hair color or eye color, etc., but they do have one mark that makes them obvious, the tattoo on their face. The tattoo signifies what Dalish god they serve, and it signifies which Dlaish Clan they're in. The Dalish IS from another fandom (Dragon Age) so I'm just trying to share it with the server. I love this series so much and I enjoy playing it (I am currently playing through it my 7th time) and I wanted to bring some of it's unique aspects into the server for all to enjoy with

But. Cielothar have facial tattoos too. And they are commutable to the point that you can just dictate that they have tattoos from villages. Don't get me wrong, I am reading your suggestion and considering it, but in doing so I keep finding that you're just not suggesting anything new. All of it already exists in lore.

Wolothar currently have a tattoo thing that relates to their chosen god, I think. If a village had a large cultural influence from Wolothar slaves, they could carry on that tradition.
