Core Concept |​

Nerat is a ruthless Mage-Gladiator from the Dread Empire, following Evolism and worshipping Morrlond as his primary patron. He embodies the virtues of competition and struggle, and is driven by a relentless desire to prove his strength and dominance over others. He finds pleasure in inflicting pain and humiliation upon his opponents, viewing them as mere obstacles to be overcome in his quest for victory. He views every defeat as an opportunity to grow stronger, pushing himself to the limit in pursuit of improvement and triumph.

He is defined by contradictions and a twisted sense of honour, possessing high intelligence and a sociopathic nature. He is near devoid of empathy, capable of committing heinous acts without remorse, yet a peculiar code of honour set on showcasing the strength of The Void causes him to avoid killing those with 'potential'.

Despite this, he is undoubtedly cruel and sadistic. He is a Gladiator, a Warrior-Mage, and a Dread-Loyalist Kathar to his core - who has come to Regalia as an Argentum Knight to spread the good word of The Dread Empire among the Kathar and Cultists and would-be convertees of the city.

Nerat possesses long, flowing black hair which cascades down his back and shoulders - golden braids and chains contrast sharply with the otherwise dark colour. His face is round, with sullen eyes and a gaze which somehow balances weariness with intensity.

He has a lean and muscular build, indicative of his prowess as a warrior-mage, one who specialises in physical combat specifically. Honed and well-defined, he takes clear pride in the dedication and effort it took.

His skin is pale for a Kathar, a cold grey nearing ivory - which is decorated Void Script tattoos. They adorn his arms and back the most, weaving intricate patterns with cryptic praise to the many dark gods he follows. In truth these markings are magical glyphs and runes, coiling around his slim muscles like protective serpents.

His most odd and notable feature is his teeth, which are usually painted black.

◆ Argentum Gladiator

Driven by honour and sadism, Nerat is quick to take on challenges for duels. It's rare for him to turn down a request to duel, and sometimes spars with those who would never associate with a Kathar via disguising magic.​

◆ Dread Loyalist

Nerat is a Dread Empire Loyalist, and believes all other Kathar should embrace their heritage and homeland. He believes those who have turned away from the Empire can be 'redeemed', and is happy to engage and talk with fellow void worshippers and Kathar whenever possible. ​

◆ Void Magic Mentor

Though he'll never actually share his most advanced techniques, Nerat enjoys having his ego stroked in the position of a mentor. The superiority he feels as acting above others - as a source of knowledge greater than their own - is satiating enough for him to offer teaching for a very reasonable price.​

◆ The Deathless Invocation

Cursed to serve, Nerat's life essence is stored in a trio of rings, each worn by a different member of a powerful Khaahl in the Dread Empire. They have vested interest in the success of the Argentum Knights, and ensure Nerat remains loyal to them, under threat of destroying the rings. ​
