Introduction
Greetings MassiveCraft! Chances are you have not heard about me, for those who remember, you have my gratitude. I am Blanclour, and I joined MassiveCraft in September of 2012. I wouldn't call myself a founding member, but that is definitely old by today's standards. I am not famous or popular like other MassiveCraft ancients such as @TaxConsumption or @Mecharic, but my legacy existed in the form of the faction Cross. Ultimately I left Massive shortly after the original release of Regalia for several reasons, I have popped back in every once and a while to see what the server has been up to but never actually returned. Now after nearly 3 years, I have returned once again to commit to the experience that is MassiveCraft. This is a long post for a long journey away from Massive, skip the parts that are of no interest to you My Story on Massive
Please view the spoiler:Before I joined Massive I played on a small now extinct factions server, being my first ever multiplayer experience in Minecraft. If you are interested in that story you may read it on the old Massive Wikia page here: http://massivecraft.wikia.com/wiki/Tale_of_the_Pioneers
Side Note: Between the collapse of my first Minecraft server and joining Massive I gained experience as an Admin on a server created from the fallout of the original one, this is also where I initially started to learn how to code bukkit plugins and run bukkit servers.
I found Massive through the Factions documentation page, which was located on the massivecraft.com website. I am a very curious person and decided to take a look at the server website and discovered vampires. Interested in this vampire plugin I joined massive and used my alts to get the 200 silver needed to create a faction at the time. I chose the name Cross, mainly because I was a Vampire Knight nerd and was originally going to base my faction off of Cross Academy. And so I created a small base in northwest Daendroc, along with some friends from my previous server. We met some neighbors, CrimsonBay I believe was their faction name, created a road between us while my faction was learning how to play on MassiveCraft.
Apparently I had come at the perfect time, as Massive's newest map was going to be released: Ellador. I made sure that I was present for the initial launch, and claimed a valley in southern Ellador. This is where the faction Cross would get it's fame. After losing a raid by TaxConsumption, I was able to make my first structure. My faction grew over time and I picked up quite a few players, most importantly alexshelfer, which would play an important role later on. We were constantly on edge due to the constant raids by Aldur, a dwarven faction to the north. We eventually became allies and this alleviated the stress that the faction felt. I was heavy into vampire roleplay, and would constantly roleplay along with alexshelfer. We in fact had our own brand of vampire roleplay which would be rejected by current lore compliance laws.
I eventually went inactive after a month of solid work on building up my faction, which was about 20 members or so. I expected it to be gone upon my return a month later, however it was not. alexshelfer had taken control of the faction while I was gone and the faction had around 36 members and several new buildings. I assumed control of the faction, and noticed a very aspiring.. viking. spacevikingguy had proven to be a very useful officer and recruited several members, and so I let him create his own sub-division within Cross that was viking themed. Svass, as he liked to be called, along with alex would recruit many members, some of which were famous not too long ago. I forgot her full username, but she went by Lenk, and was the original founder of Ended, and was among the people who was in my faction.
At the time, Cross's arch nemesis and biggest threat would be Yukuro, lead by LadyHeretic and her best officer Ifritincarnate, also to be noted was Snakeeer. We got raided constantly, and only gained relief after they were brought into a war against another major faction, which resulted in them making an official peace treaty with us. Ifrit was the diplomat and would visit regularly, as he liked our faction. Eventually he would join us, and proved to be just as useful as spacevikingguy. Our member count grew daily until it reached a peak of 92 members. We had become one of the largest Ellador factions at the time, however we did not gain much recognition as we did not raid often and sucked at pvp.
We were eventually pulled into an empire, the two founding factions I forget, except for one of the leaders which was Jonaethiel. They called themselves The Republic and actively opposed the growing threat: LuminI. The LuminI faction was lead by someone who is now banned and his name was brought up so many times that the staff made it illegal to mention his name, therefore I will not mention him.
The staff had announced the upcoming release of Regalia, a new spawn for MassiveCraft. My faction was hyped and we made preparations the whole time to claim the best property. Unfortunately Regalia's original release was not announced or scheduled, they released it suddenly and without warning. This basically destroyed my faction's plans, and pissed me off as I had spent months preparing for the release.
Although this is one of the reasons I left, it was not everything. In addition to this, spacevikingguy and Ifritincarnate hated each other, and their fights literally tore the faction apart. We lost a major portion of our members and lost spacevikingguy. Also I had found myself spending most of my time on Minecraft role-playing with alexshelfer, we often carried our rp to our own created servers to facilitate custom adventures not possible on Massive.

My Time After Massive
Please view the spoiler:
Note To Staff: I make no mention the specifics of this server, only that it existed and why I made it and it's contents for the purposes of my story. (Also, I am very honest in this section, I have had many opinions on massive through the years, please don't judge me too harshly.)
Eventually my role-play with alex, and the new-found lore compliance rules on massive, caused me to create my own server that furthered my own brand of vampire role-play. What started originally as a map hosted on my pc became a server hosted by a large server host. I used my knowledge of bukkit api to code my own vampire plugin that hooked into a races plugin on the bukkit plugin repository.
Why I Originally Left Massive:
* My faction was falling apart.
* The sudden unscheduled release of Regalia that ruined all my plans.
* Vampires were not recognized as a race, a simple matter of my distaste for massive's vampire lore.
* I had an urge to make my own plugins that expanded upon vampires, as the staff did not want to improve the vampire plugin at the time.
My activity on massive continued to drop until I no longer played on there, and basically devoted myself full time to the operation of my server. I learned how to code custom races and added those in, continued to experiment until my server gained some popularity. Some people I knew on skype joined in, they also happened to have played on massive but like myself had become inactive. There is one person in particular that I trusted until just recently in 2016, betrayed me and contributed to my return to massive(I will refer to this person as the "Compulsive Liar").
I kept on remaking my plugins, learning new lessons on java and the bukkit api with every iteration. It got to a point where my vampire plugin had more features then massive's vampire plugin, however it was very buggy and can not compare to the incredible work Cayorion has put into his plugins. ( @Cayorion You are my hero, I honestly believe you are the best Spigot plugin developer in the world. )
I tended to avoid massive at this point( Which I now realize as of 2016 is due to the constant lies fed to me about massive by the Compulsive Liar ). However my server was in decline due to my increasing absence. What caused the server to collapse was fighting between two of my admins, one of which was the Compulsive Liar.
Afterwords comes a gap of 2 years, of which was spent going through many different games and two attempts to resurrect my server, with help of the Compulsive Liar. During that time I had tried developing very ambitious plugins, which would have succeeded if not for my situation irl and the failures to resurrect my server. I learned a lot about coding during those years, however my main problem with resurrecting the server was my inability to find anyone interested in coding, or any technical or comprehensive subject related to server operation. As a result I became skilled and self sufficient at all aspects of operating a spigot / bukkit server.
After my most recent attempt to resurrect my server, the following happened. I had very ambitious plugin ideas, but had an Achilles Heel when it came to data storage and management, restricting my ability to get said ideas to work without being plagued with bugs. I lost my only coding apprentice due to the Compulsive Liar insulting him. (My apprentice had started learning java when I met him back in 2013 and was inspired by my skill, and while I was absent his skills grew to be greater then mine. However he tended to be less oriented towards spigot plugins and more towards "black hat" activities.) The whole fate of the project relied too heavily on me since I was the only programmer, and I was becoming more inactive due to irl stuff. And finally the killing blow, after many years the Compulsive Liar finally showed his true nature and betrayed me, trying to pull my server into a lawsuit. This resulted in me ejecting him from the project and ending my relations with him.
Needless to say, I loved writing lore and it was the main reason I wanted to resurrect my server to begin with, but I never had enough time for anything else like coding the necessary plugins. I lost interest in continuing development of the server and retired as project leader. I spent a short time on Eve Online, but eventually quit due to the intense time investment that game requires.

My Official Return to Massive
I eventually decided to return to massive and give it another try. I must say I am truly impressed by the work the staff have put into this server since I originally left, especially the plugins and the detail put into Regalia. Although the disconnection between factions and Regalia has me scratching my head(Pre-Regalia, role-play and server progression somewhat recognized player factions.), I have found the lore to be very interesting and well written. I am very excited to give this server another go and I do hope this is the last server that I ever have to come back to
Now for some personal details:
I am currently 21 years old (will be 22 on july 30), and I live in Texas.
Likes:
- Naruto (Isn't it obvious?)
- Programming, especially spigot plugins.
- Writing lore and creative ideas, writing novelettes.
- Friendly and helpful people.
- Building (Although my style is lacking creativity, I have been studying Regalia for ideas.)
- Role-play (I would consider myself rather skilled, however I am rusty after being away from massive for so long.)
- Creating Media (I can't draw worth a ****, but I am very proficient at image editing programs like GIMP)
- Strategy Games (Particularly ones that are like Age of Empires, and definitely like the new and impressive Stellaris. Also, I do play LoL, Riven Main.)
- RPGs and Visual Novels
- Anime (Especially Death Note, FMA Brotherhood, SAO, and of course, Naruto.)
- MMOs (Yes, I'm sure everyone has played WoW. Other games include Eve Online, Age of Wushu, Star Trek Online, Tera, Wurm Online, and many more.)
- Leadership, I simply can't stay away from it
- Many more interests, ask personally and I will tell you if I like it or not.
Dislikes:
- Trolls, rude, uncultured people, and especially liars.
- Exploiters, hackers, griefers, people who only care about their ep**n.
- The Compulsive Liar (I will note he was involved with massive staff at one point, so I will not mention his name.)
- Domineering PvP factions that say no to role-play and say no to diplomacy. (I don't mind wars, but please do yourself a favor and at least give a good reason for it, preferably in the form of a diplomatic declaration.)
- Celery (Keep me away from that horrible food XD)
Edit: My main is Blanclour and my alt is Tidus (Formerly YunaXTidus).
And that's a wrap folks, sorry for the long read, but I am an old player and have a long history with this server.
@krios41 You are probably not online, but if you are I do expect you to post first ^-^
