Velencia Malvosin
It was a staredown. Between the two women, there was enough estrogen in the air to kill any living male within 3 miles of the two sisters that stood in the threshold of Velencia's home. The eldest of the family, Clarimonde, had shown up unannounced, much to Velencia's dismay. The smug look on Ari's face said it all; she had always enjoyed watching Velencia's displeasure in even the smallest of situations. Ari ran a hand on top the mantle, purposefully knocking over the items seated on top of it, a little collection of books. With a cold glare, Ari bent to pick up one of the books she had knocked over, clucking her tongue as she ran a finger down its spine in slight interest.
"How do you manage to keep this place clean with everything on the floor, sister?"
Ari grinned as she threw the book to the ground near the burning fire, its flames only inches away from tearing into the book's fragile pages. Velencia finally opened her mouth to argue, already done with her older sister's antics.
"You and I both know damn well you haven't come to chat about my home's cleanliness, and for the record Ari, those books there was your fault."
Ari was already turned around by the time Velencia replied; she was busy with picking up more books and tossing them near the fire's side. She continued her ransacking of the home as her feet kicked up dust and moved anything out of her way to make her own path around the home's main living space. Her hands were clasped behind her straightened back, neck craning to the right and left as she looked for anything out of place to criticize. Her heels clicked along the floor as she strode closer to Velencia, a smirk creeping up when Velencia instinctively moved away from her presence.
"Oh mon abeille, come now to your dear sister and give me a proper family greeting!"
With a smile laced in feigned innocence, she outstretched her arms to her honey bee and motioned for the insect of a sister to come to her. Velencia's shoulders sunk as she mistook her sister's smile for genuine and instead thought of Ari as the girl from her childhood, who taught her the proper manners of a lady while their dying mother lay in the room 2 doors down. Velencia immediately jumped into her sister's arms, reaching to hug the actress who gripped the younger sibling in a stronger-than-usual hold. At the squeeze given by her sister, Velencia jumped back, suddenly suspicious of her sister's true intentions.
"Ari… what are your truly here for?"
She stepped over to the fireplace, kneeling to gather the books into her arms as she spoke up for her sister to hear the glorious words about to leap from her throat.
"Ah wait… did your husband finally leave you? What was it that made him do it? The fact that you're an obsessive bitch or that he caught you in bed with your own cousin?"
The vein-popping from Ari's jaw gave Velencia the answer she had hoped to hear,
"Ahhh. So he caught you ey? And here I thought you were the better actress out of the two of us."
With a chuckle, she turned back to the fire to gather the last book that lay a foot out of reach. As her fingers grasped over the book's spine, a clicking of heels sounded as an enraged Clarimonde stepped over to the mantle, her heel slamming down into Velencia's hand that was stretched over the last book. A scream could be heard from the house as it rattled window panes while Velencia desperately tried to pull away from the pain inflicted by sister dearest, only succeeding in driving Ari's heel further into the skin that now bled profusely.
"Mon abeille, you should watch your tongue before I rip it from your mouth like I should have years ago! At least I was able to even get a man to look at me without his stomach's contents spilling over the floor at the mere sight of my face!"
Velencia's cries of pain and pleading only made Ari's blood race as she raised her foot high to stomp down harder into Velencia's hand, shattering it into an array of skin, blood, and broken bones.
"Obviously you don't recall mon abeille. You don't dare insult me… Your elder… Your dear sister."
Ari would then go to send a kick upwards, bringing the brunt of her shoe into Velencia's face that hovered over the bloodied mass of her hand. Her heel would graze Velencia's cheek, leaving behind a greasy trail of blood and dirt. Velencia reeled back, grasping at her wrist with her free and unbroken hand, tears rolling down her cheeks as they mixed with the blood and dirt from Ari's heel. Sobs of pain could still be heard combing through her body, a violent and sudden smashing sounding from behind her. The crash prompted Velencia to try and turn to its source to assess the damage with teary eyes, only seeing the bottom of Ari's now crimson heel being brought down onto her head in a violent manner. Her head slammed into the stone base of the fireplace, the fire's tendrils searing the strands of her hair that flew into it from the force of the crash. Another scream and another wretched smile from the beast that towered over Velencia. Leaning further over her as to crush her head more, Ari forced Velencia's head closer to the flames that yearned to burn the skin straight off her. The blood that now gushed from Velencia's temples lessened as Ari removed her foot from the Velencia's concussed state, her vision crossed and blurred as she struggled to move as far away as she could without further injuring herself. Only managing as far as a couple of feet, Velencia dropped her head in defeat as black began to seep in the corners of her vision, taking over slowly as her breathing leveled and her sister bent down to speak into her ear a few final words before she slipped into unconsciousness.
"This is what happens to mere insects like yourself mon abeille, my honey bee. they get crushed underfoot…"
