Personality Morwenna is kind, respectful, and always willing to help others, carrying the values of humility. She treats people with courtesy, no matter their background, and is quick to offer assistance. However, beneath her gentle exterior is a strong-willed attitude. Having faced loss and hardship, Morwenna can be fiercely protective of herself and isn't afraid to stand her ground when challenged. She's a bit shy, often hesitant in new social situations, and sometimes feels out of place among others. Despite this, her adaptability is one of her key strengths. She's learned to adjust quickly to new environments, becoming resourceful and capable even when out of her comfort zone. Though she craves connection, Morwenna fears rejection. |
Backstory Morwenna Quincy was born into the humblest of circumstances. She was the daughter of an Ailor couple, both of whom had grown up in the harsh realities of poverty in the rural farmlands. Her father, a stoic man with rough hands and a worn heart, had spent his life working the land, while her mother, a soft-spoken woman with a deep love for her family, tended to the home and animals. Together, they eked out a modest living, surrounded by the simplicity of farming life. From a young age, Morwenna was taught the value of hard work. She learned the rhythm of the seasons, how to till the soil, mend fences, and tend to livestock. Her childhood was marked by long, grueling days, but there was a certain comfort in the routine. She was never given the luxury of education or the opportunity to explore beyond the confines of the farm. Books, maps, and the wonders of the outside world were all but distant dreams, fleeting whispers that only reached her through passing travelers. When Morwenna turned eleven, her life was irrevocably shattered. Her mother, already in the later stages of pregnancy, had been struggling with complications, but no one could have anticipated the devastating turn of events. Despite their efforts, Morwenna's mother and the baby she carried —her younger brother— perished during childbirth. The grief that consumed Morwenna's father was deep, a sorrow that not even the toughest of farmers could withstand. The pain of losing both his wife and unborn son became too much for him to bear, and within months, he too succumbed to despair. He took his own life, leaving Morwenna alone in a world that had turned cold and unfamiliar. The loss of her parents and the farm was a devastating blow to Morwenna. Without family or a means of income, she was forced to leave the only home she had ever known. The grief lingered heavily in her heart, and the farm, once filled with the sounds of life, now stood empty, abandoned. With little more than the clothes on her back and a few meager belongings, she set off into the world, a young girl unprepared for the harshness of life beyond the fields. Morwenna wandered from city to city, never finding a place where she truly belonged. Her lack of education made it difficult for her to find steady work, and she often found herself in the shadows, doing menial labor or helping strangers with odd jobs just to survive. She struggled to fit in, feeling as if she was forever an outsider among those who had the luxuries of knowledge, wealth, and family. The language of books, the elegance of city life, and the hustle of commerce were foreign to her. She yearned for the simplicity of the farm, but there was no going back to that life, and the pain of it all weighed heavily on her soul. Though Morwenna struggled to find her place in the world, there were moments of peace. The wilderness, the quiet forests, and the tranquil lakes offered a solace she couldn't find in bustling towns. It was in the isolation of nature that Morwenna felt most at ease, where the rhythm of life no longer felt forced, and she could breathe without the pressure of fitting in. In these moments, she felt closer to her lost family her mother, her father, and the sibling she never had the chance to know. Morwenna's travels have taken her across many lands, but she still has yet to find a true sense of home. She's driven by a deep yearning not just for a place to settle, but for a deeper understanding of herself. Who is she, beyond the girl who grew up on a farm? What is her purpose, beyond survival? The isolation of her past has taught her to trust few, but it has also made her resilient capable of surviving against the odds. Despite the sorrow of her past, there is a spark within her, a quiet hope that, one day, she might find a place where she can not only settle, but finally understand who she truly is. |
