Although Nelethar Silverin's tactical brilliance allowed him to dominate whatever battle he led, his allies were less than effective in the field and brought defeat with their efforts. The Dark Iron Clans soon learned that avoiding open battle was key to controlling the unwieldy terrain of Daendroc and force the new Elven Empire out of their lands. Raids and plunder set the countryside of Metten Teldwen ablaze, and famine followed where the orcish warbands marched. But in order to coordinate this war of attrition, the orcish clans needed eyes to see deep into enemy territory. And thus, people like Edward Dertycia, Theodore Artiemus, Luna Levine, and Xolkug Lavaquencher were needed to foray into enemy lands and be wherever the orcs could not afford to attack yet. Dertycia's company and a contingent of orcs set out for the cliffs of Eswe-Lindis, a vital staging area that gave Nelethar a clear view over a large stretch Dark Iron Tribelands.
To the south of the ancient way-tower where the Elven officers looked from Eswe-Lindis was a line of collapsed escarpment where a nimble person could weave their way through the cracks and emerge at the top. It was the only direct way into the upper levels of the cliffs, and so it required scouting to root out the best course. Theodore made his way into the great stones, putting faith in his dexterity to find the right path. It took the majority of that bleak morning for Theodore to climb his way to the top and find the best path, where he scouted further while his comrades-in-arms followed his lead. Theodore's confidantes arrived at the top with half of the orcish forces and laid in wait for the inevitable patrol to enter, whereupon they can draw attention long enough for the orcish sappers to do their work on the cliff below the way-tower. And so, they found an underbrush next to the well-worn tracks of sentries and laid their ambush.
In a stroke of good luck, the party fell upon two signal-runners who were tasked with relieving patrols of duty and indicating the exchange of guards. If they were dealt with, the confusion left behind by their silence would surely alarm the soldiers without any sense of direction. Edward and Theodore fell upon them first, dispatching them with ease. To add to the confusion, Xolkug set the vegetation nearby on fire and alerted the elven troops of their presence. They started their way back, hoping to sneak into the collapsed cliffs and exit from there. However, their fortunes soured as soon as the first orcs started making their way down; troops from the patrol managed to spot the greenskins descending into the stones and immediately opened combat. The sudden appearance of troops panicked some of the climbers and Luna and Xolkug fell from their stable grips in the confusion.
Edward and Theodore immediately rushed back up to join the few orcs attempting to hold the small gap long enough to exasperate them. They joined an impromptu line where the orcs did their best to keep the elves at bay with clubs and axes. Theodore took his place behind Edward and prepared his bow as Edward did his best to parry the relentless slashing of Talar swords with his saber. Every now and then, Edward fell back to the side, allowing Theodore a clear shot at whomever was in front. They managed to shoot or cut down enough of the opposing force so their orcish friends could push them back and rout the remaining attackers. Edward and Theodore retreated before any reinforcements came to attack, and found both Luna and Xolkug at the bottom of the cliffs with grievous wounds. Luna had been impaled in her thigh by a branch and broke her left wrist in an attempt to break her fall. Xolkug took a blow to the head by a rocky outcropping and twisted his leg in an impressive angle. Edward himself was smarting from bruises and slashes, though none of his wounds were as grievous as his comrades'. They fled for the safety of the jungle, unable to contribute any more to the skirmishes at Eswe-Lindis.
On their way back to safety, Theodore spotted a lone sentry guarding a collection of five cages upon a cart. With practiced ease, he fired an arrow into the man's knee and captured him for a brief interrogation. These prisoners were from Toth-Shiad, he said, and he was awaiting the return of his comrades in arms who had left for food. After letting the now-disarmed and heavily impaired elf go, the group smashed the locks on the cages and let free a ragged group of adventurers not unlike themselves. After a bit of explaining, the Shendar managed to convey that his companions were also agents of the orcish army. They made their way back together in silence, both in low spirits from their failures before.

Summary of all Rolls:
- Stage One - Theodore scouts out the Pro enemy and determines their position. He gathers the party to launch an ambush.
- Stage Two - The party fights the Pro forces and win a huge victory, but a disaster occurs and Xolkug and Luna are both out of combat. (broken bone, suffering in agony, etc.)
- Stage Three - The party decides, after finding no loot, to push forward into the Pro forces. This was a risky gamble, and it ultimately failed. Pro forces overwhelmed from all sides as Theodore and Edward had to not only fight off the opposition, but also to protect the disabled Luna and Xolkug. Edward and Theodore come out of the fight pretty well, and the group is able to escape through a hole in the enemy lines.
- The quest is ultimately deemed a failure, and Xolkug and Luna need to rest for the next 2 to 3 weeks (possibly more) in order to recover fully from their injuries.
