Following the success of Aeron Cullas and his friends, Ztrava Ztonzil could burrow further into the winding maze of ruins left hidden under the blistering sands of the Cour de Ciècle desert. A success for the Tigrans indeed, but a problem for the Holy Alliance for Union in Ithania. Brouiard Plaisance, the opposition leader, set a small group comprising of Roland Blakely, Farod Ulster, Piper Duchamp Pim, and Atilio Amaya to go sabotage any further excavations in the newly discovered tunnels that the Sun's Vigil crew had uncovered. Equipped with weapons, armour, and supplies, the band of four crept into the tunnels in the dead of night, setting about their covert mission. With torches lit and breaths steady, the four made their way through the dust-littered halls to the recently opened doorway, keeping their heads low and hands at their weapons in case of any slaves appearing from the darkness. Luckily for they, only a handful of Tigran workers were in the tunnels this late, and the tunnels were practically abandoned.
Roland and Atilio lead the way, directing the group's path down a fork in the ruins. Rounding a corner, the light of their torches illuminated a partially excavated staircase that had wooden slats and beams propping up the ceiling. Being strong blokes, Atilio, Farod, and Roland began to clear any sandstone away while Piper kept watch of the passageway behind them. It was not long until the stairway was relatively passable what with the work of the three men, but a dry beam, weathered with age and weakened under the strain from the ceiling, snapped. A thunderous rumble shot through the tunnel as large blocks rained down from the ceiling onto the group, prompting them to dart forwards and up the stairs to avoid danger of injury, or worse, death. Atilio and Piper were at the rear of the group by this point and if they had stood there for only a few seconds more, they would have been trapped by the rubble for sure. However, they were lucky and remained unharmed. Painted with dust and annoyed by sand in their clothes and mouths, yes, but unharmed.
All it took was a brief bout of cursing in Daendroque from Atilio as the four collected their breaths and the group were ready to proceed further into the ruins. From here on out the ruins were unmapped and unexplored, so it was up to Roland and the others to make sure Ztrava would not benefit from any treasure or relics that lay hidden down in these eerily quiet rooms. Each step resulted in a hollow 'thwup' on the scattered flooring of sand and it was hard for any of the team to make out what lay ahead, but Roland wandered off ahead, eventually coming across a more open area. To their luck they managed to avoid any enemies and stray from activating any hidden traps. Once the coast was verified to be clear, Farod called out for the a-okay to proceed, and the group ventured into the next room. Piper's eyes were naturally distracted by the sight of some littered goodies and shinies that her nimble fingers wanted to grasp and take, but Farod gripped her chin and turned her head to the wall. Four mouths in a row curled into an 'o' shape at what was beheld there: a mural.
The mural on the wall was a true piece of art. The torches provided very little light yet the depictions were clear; clear enough for each member of the group to have shivers sent down their very bones. Brouiard Plaisance indeed had reason to worry about the initial discovery of the city beneath the Ithanian desert, and Roland, Piper, Atilio, and Farod were firsthand witnesses to this. The mural, at least twenty feet tall in height and decorated with lapis and other valuable materials, showed an apparent grandeur that the Tigrans once possessed. Tigrans swathed in elegant robes stood tall with whips in hand while Nelfin knelt before them on one section of the mural, while another part showed a mighty crested Tigran reclining on a throne as chained Elven slaves attended him. And, to the far righthand side of the mural, what appeared to be an army of Tigrans wielding all sorts of strange technology wiping marching through jungles and elven settlements. If this mural were to be seen then what would happen for Tigran-kind? How would creatures treated as slaves and degraded by all across Aloria for so many years react to this immense cultural discovery?
Roland's group didn't wait to find out. Piper grabbed a sack and went snooping around for anything valuable while Atilio, Farod, and Roland set to destroying this wondrous mural. The three worked over many hours into the early morn swinging at the mural with pickaxes and other tools to deface it, and were able to finally chip off any remaining evidence that was featured on the wall. Piper's own greedy searching had not been in vain either. She returned after skulking with a pleased glint in her eyes and something bulky in her hands. When brought to the light of the torch, said bulky item was revealed to be a luxurious golden cat idol - a magnificent find for the kleptomaniac and her accomplices. With their work complete and no further need to hang around in the deserted underground ruins, the four fled and exited the way they came. Ztrava would surely be outraged upon seeing their handiwork!
