I have a thing or two to say about my personal situation right now that is making my work load flakey. Maybe some of you have seen my forum wall announcements, or my lack of activity in-game. This is because I'm facing legal issues IRL with the immigration services. I've been attempting to migrate to another country for a while now, and my desired procedure of immigration is slower than expected, so slow in fact that I stand to lose my passport before it even completes. Due to this difficulty, and my inability to extend my passport abroad, I have to either: Move back to the Netherlands and live there for 4 months with spotty or no internet access. Stay here, but buckle down for the next month or so to make a lot of money to prove to the tax office that I can support myself with my own income. Find some other legal means to acquire a valid residence permit that allows me to stay on a more permanent basis. This is incredibly stressful. Probably the most stressful I've ever been in my life purely because I'm in a very good position where I am right now, and it's messing up my flow of work and my life plans. I've thus decided to put Massive on the backburner, but at the same time not. I've noticed that completely shutting off Massive as I had done for the past few days, was even more stressful because I find working for Massive to be relaxing. Writing long posts or wiki pages about something people care about entertains me, in a similar way that drawing does. Does that mean I won't do anything on Factions for a while? Yes. Though, this is not purely because of my absence. Cayorion has also since disappeared back into the webs entanglement of Real life, and what we did do in the weeks following my posts, was only possible because he was home bound and sick during that time. Does that mean no survival map is under production? Yes. I simply don't know what my scedule is going to look like from week to week. If things go south really bad, I need to really scramble within a week and take a trip to the capital, or even worse, leave the country. With such constant worry and inability to make any commitments due to the risk of erratic needs to move around, I simply can't have the peace of mind to really dedicate to something consistently. As such, I am simply picking up things where I want and where I have the motivation and energy for, to ensure I keep some semblance of self control and sanity, while also not completely losing touch with Massive, but I do think that players can reasonably expect me to become less willing to go out of my way to service their needs before my own IRL priorities are met.
I've been in a similar situation and I know how much it can suck. No matter what happens, just stay strong, everything works out in the end! Best of luck, Marty!
Hi Marty! (if I may call you that) I would just like to ask you 3 random questions. What are the main goals for Massive in the coming years? Do you get stressed out and overwhelmed by the responsibility that many players put on you? Many see you as Cayorion's "boots on the ground" and the leader of this server as a whole, how do you feel about that? What is your favorite topic in history and why?
Staying alive, then, growing. Not at all. I only get stressed out at players engaging in self-sabotaging when it concerns their capacity to function on the server and help the server move forwards. La Belle Epoque, because it showcases a capacity for humanity to grow as a global peaceful species in culture, sciences and social conduct in a time of unusual global peace.
Whats your best roleplay experience, one that you've been apart of and one that you've heard about or saw?
That doesn't exist in my country. Probably toss-up between @SupremeCripple or @Mooffins, I'm inclined to say the former though. We've had some serious 3 to 5 hour long sessions.

Yes. It falls under a self employment company as a daughter firm. No. It is a self employment company without dividends or stock market presence.

My fiancee snores really loud, I am a light sleeper. He also sleeps with the window open which makes the bedroom freezing, which I cannot stand. I go to sleep when he goes to work and wake up when he comes home from work to start making dinner and clean. Synchronizing my sleeping times with EST is functional because it allows me to maximize my productivity cycle with Massive.
No. None. I dislike them all. None. I didn't really like any of them. Any personal enjoyment is always overshadowed by player drama. I know I know "woe is me", but it sort of makes progressions a drain having to deal with XYZ player not feeling put out there enough.
Yeah. Someday. The buildings still exist, we just have other things to do. I draw pretty consistently. Motivation usually comes in money or just wanting to express something and receive public praise for it in the form of validation. Shiba Inu.
I didn't have time to read through all the replies here so I'm not sure if this has been asked and answered but did you ever get a dog?
I had two dogs growing up. One was a female dwarf wiener dog, and the second was a kaninchen wiener dog, both straight hair, brown on the first and black on the second. The first one died when I was 21, the other we "gave away" to a family friend after I moved out of the house and my father moved into a no-pets appartment, and it died a few years back after I moved out of the country.
