    Basic Information
    • Miti-Ji Zo (Miti as family name, Ji and Zo given names. Most people know her as “Zo” though) is a 41 year old female Chi’en-ji. Zo grew up in a family of strong believers in Dragon Worship, and continues to follow the religions traditions.

    • Miti-Ji Zo was born on the Yang-Tzu Islands in 263 AC, as the second child of her mother Miti Aika and father Miti-Xi Shinobu. Both her parents are still still living, her father age 66 and her mother age 67. Her older brother Miti Tao is deceased, however; he died at the age of 34 from sickness.

    • Miti-Ji Zo lives apart from her parents in Regalia with her 13 year old daughter, Miti Tadame in a small house in the Poor District as her parents still live on the Yang-Tzu Islands. A huge goal for Zo, one that she works the hardest for is developing her daughter into a well-educated and successful child. She will often put aside her daily needs to provide for her daughter. As for employment goals, Miti-Ji Zo is currently hoping for a job at the Tavern as a Barmaid, getting orders and serving drinks to tables, booths, lounges, or nobles.Until then, she runs around Regalia doing chores and cleaning houses.

    • Though her common is fluent, Zo speaks with a large Chi’en-Ji accent. She has been learning common as a second language since she was very young.

    • This character is a very skilled mage level magic user that specializes in Air magic, also known as Qi'Baiwu. Since the age of 12, Miti-Ji Zo has devoted her life to studying and practicing Air magic. She has slowly been shifting from practicing it to using it in her everyday life, whether that means using it whilst sailing to and from the Yang-Tzu Islands or using it to defend herself from danger. In the future, Zo wishes to eventually fulfill her personal life goal and reach the level of expert air mage.
    Physical Description

    Body
    • Zo is shorter than the average Ailor, but she is taller than the average Chi’en-Ji. She is 5’1” and is slightly frail but has some fat with little muscle, giving her a weight at about 111 pounds. Zo's arms are slightly skinnier than her legs, mainly because of her past and current work cleaning houses which sometimes involves lifting. Not being into combat, she wouldn’t be able to handle a serious punch as mush as an Ailor would. Though a punch coming towards Miti-Ji Zo is quite unlikely, as she tends to avoid such places where things like that could occur.
    • Zo has Chi’en-Ji white but slightly tanned skin, darker than the common Chi'en-Ji . Her skin is smooth with no scars as she tends to avoid combat, along with no freckles, birthmarks, sunspots, tattoos or anything of the sort. Zo has very little body hair, but she does bear a fine head of hair, reaching down past her waist where she keeps it clean and trimmed.
    Head
    • Zo’s face is round, with small cheekbones and a slightly cleft chin. with a small nose and a regular sized mouth. She has attractive golden-like eyes in the common Chi’en-Ji slit-like shape.
    • Zo will often be found with a happy expression, usually staying positive unless worried about her daughter.
    • She also has fine soft black hair reaching down past her waist with a shiny yellow band for her ponytail. She tends to keep her hair clean, avoiding greasy and dirtiness. Her eyebrows are thin and well taken care of.
    • Zo will always be seen wearing her valued earrings on her ears. These earrings gives her a small bit of pride and joy when wearing them, as they are a symbol for her passed role model brother.
    Clothing and Accessories
    • Depending on the occasion, Zo does have a pair of earrings that were given to her by her brother before he died. Not having much money, the golden earrings are the only jewelry Zo owns.
    • Zo usually can be found wearing a traditional Chi’en-Ji style outfit. With a long, deep, velvet red skirt flowing past her knees, gracefully swirling along as she walks, accompanied with an off-white long sleeve top that is neatly tucked into her skirt, making her appear more tidy and well kept. Her hair is usually tied back with two short bangs at each corner of her forehead. She can usually be found wearing her golden earrings that her brother have her, whom is now deceased. These pair of earrings are sentimental to her, and they are her only articles of jewelry in her possession.
    Personality

    Personality Traits
    • Well-mannered - Zo grew up in a very religious and strict family. Manners were mandatory, no matter who you were talking to, or what you were doing; from obeying her elders to not putting her elbows on the table, Miti-Ji Zo is extremely well-mannered and polite. She is generally condoning when others are impolite, remaining gracious, because to do otherwise would compromise her own well-mannered nature. In social interaction this is a positive trait that earns her respect and kindness from many individuals, as she knows how to act in certain situations depending on who she's in the presence of. This leads discipline often ties with her well-maintained trait.

    • Well-maintained - Zo’s house is very clean and tidy. She makes sure neither her nor her daughter leave without looking decent. This means putting on clean clothes, makeup, and doing their hair. It is very important to Zo that she and her daughter don’t appear impoverished or destitute in public, so organization and neatness are of the utmost importance. This gives her a large advantage when cleaning houses for Regals to provide for Tidame. This helps maintains Zo's overall positive mood. As long as everything is neat and organized with most of the chores complete, she can go about her day without a worry. This contributes to her relatively positive attitude, though sometimes if Zo has lots to do, she will get stressed very quickly.

    • Materialistic - Zo is motivated by money. It’s not that she’s greedy or selfish; she merely needs to provide for her daughter, Tidame. She may give up on matters that interfere with her accumulation of wealth, and she will sometimes sacrifice things that others would deem more valuable in order to provide for herself and her daughter. This helps keep Zo organized and responsible with her money. She's often trusted among her friends as they she has a tendency to respond on time when dealing with money. She currently is pursuing the barmaid career, hoping to earn some extra regals to afford their already small home and other necessities.

    • Selfless (Willing to help others) - Zo loves to help others. She will go out of her way to make sure others get help, whether it means helping someone injured or doing favors. If she was to come across an injured person, she would set all things aside to help them. Although she may not have the money for it, Zo often invites guests to her house, serving them rice and Chi’en-Ji teas. This attribute often gains her many a friend among the common people; the community in general knows her as a charitable and selfless individual.

    • Fretful - Zo cares greatly for her daughter. Nothing is too inconvenient for Zo if it will ensure the safety and survival of Tadame. This can sometimes result in her being overprotective. In general, though, all Zo wants is to give her the life that she herself never received; a proper education and a well-paying job in the city of Regalia. She is careful not to fall into the “cycle of poverty”, putting as much money as possible towards her daughter's future. When involved with decision making and social interaction, Zo will usually put things she views as less important aside to make sure her daughter is well. This sometimes conflicts with her obedient nature, as she will make what her superiors or customers tell her do, but during so she will get stressed worrying.

    • Picky - Seeing as Zo spent almost her entire childhood in the Yang-Tzu Islands, she is very used to her culture's food. Because of this, foreign foods both confuse her and break the familiarity of her traditional cuisine. But she is well-mannered at the same time, so she will obviously eat whatever a friend or a host puts in front of her, even though she may not enjoy it. This sometimes effects her socially, as afterwards she will most likely turn down another invitation for lunch or dinner with small excuses.

    • Sensitive - Zo is easily insulted; certain lightly-meant comments or sayings will often set her off; it could even be said she “wears her heart upon her sleeve”. Not only is she sensitive to herself, but negative remarks about another race will undoubtedly trigger a hostile reaction. On occasion she will spend hours puzzling over a single comment that she deems insensitive towards her or others. This effects her socially and mentally, sometimes making her feel insecure or self-conscious.

    • Gullible - If you were to tell her snippets of false information, like fake names or telling her you work somewhere you don’t, she would most likely believe it. This trait is often used against Zo, giving her false perceptions about people who have lied to her. Miti-Ji Zo is a lot more simplistic than others, caring only about the basic necessities of life and her own cultural upbringing, and as such she is not attuned to the subtleties of deception. This can be used against her when telling her about current politics or events occurring around Aloria.
    Likes
    • Rice - A staple for Zo and her family, so she has grown accustomed to it. It’s a very simple dish that has not only significance in it’s taste and ease but in the fact that in many cases for Zo, this cheap food is the difference between life and death. Even when more extravagant options are available Zo will have a tendency towards the food that keeps her and Tidame going.

    • Being around others - Though she is not much of a conversation starter, Zo loves being around others. She loves to just listen to the conversations of others (talking infrequently due to her cultural upbringing and politeness). When not around others, she gets lonely very quickly and her aforementioned politeness and mannerisms fail.

    • Tea - Using tea leafs and a few spices from the Yang-Tzu Islands her tea is surely unique. An Ailor may find it tastes rather strange, but another Chi’en-ji would fall in love with her tea immediately. “It reminds me of home.” - Fei-Tzu Xunzhao

    • Magic - Even after practicing it for 29 years, Zo is still fascinated by magic. Her perception of magic is that it is less of an ability or a tool and more of an art. She loves spending time with her friend, Xunzhao, meditating and using it in her everyday life. However, she is very careful about where she is when she does it, relying on a few trusted locations where people rarely wander.

    • Foreign Races - Like her good friend Xunzhao, Zo enjoys meeting others from foreign cultures. She finds their stories interesting and often thinks of how they came to be. Having grown up on the isolated Yang-Tzu islands, cross-cultural interactions were rare in her youth, so distinctly different races intrigue her rather than trigger negative feelings, as is the perception of many Alorians today.
    • Meditation - With the exception that she prefers meditating with a friend, Zo loves the peace that comes along with meditating in a quiet, comfortable location. Her most preferred spot is atop the waterfall in the Regalian park.
    Dislikes
    • Fish - Although she comes from a place where fish would be a common meal, she very much dislikes the smell of fish and tends to avoid using it in her cooking. If she tried it though, she would most likely enjoy it.

    • Racism - If there’s one thing Zo hates most it’s racism. She believes that people were born who they are without a choice, and as a result should not be treated indifferently. This is what inspires her to learn more about other cultures and gain a greater respect for them.

    • The Sewers - Darkness, bad smells and criminals, are all things Zo prefers to stay away from. Only once has she ever been to the sewers, and that was to stop her friend Fei Jao from venturing them, she ended up having to save him with her wind magic before they ran, which in fact, is the only place Zo has ever used her magic in terms of violence.

    • Being Alone - Zo loves to socialize. She can’t stand the quiet of no company. Another reason Zo doesn’t like being by herself is that if she’s alone, it means her daughter isn’t with her, a thought which always strikes worry and fear in the heart of Zo. Ultimately, Zo’s tendency towards politeness and fretfulness work against her when she is alone and has no one to care for.

    • Violence - Zo avoids all things that could lead to violence. She stays out of the sewers, and out of people's business. Only once has she ever done anything violent, and that was to help protect Fei-Tzu Xunzhao in the sewers. In general Zo is much more comfortable in the home and in the community, where her social needs and politeness stand as her bulwark. Even when using magic, Zo tends to use it as an everyday way to focus her lifestyle and achieve a higher level of spirituality. Zo will only work with violence when driven to by the powerful forces of grief, worry or danger.
    Habits
    • Finger-Tapping at the table - When Zo is either worried or bored out of her mind, she has a tendency to tap her fingers on the table. This often happens at home or in the tavern, where she dull murmur of conversation leads to Zo’s thoughts wandering. Her frequent reveries are partly a result of her cultural upbringing; although she feels most comfortable around people, she is quite introverted and prefers to listen. When the conversation wanders away from her interest, her little habits of boredom kick in.
    Strengths
    • Mental : Obedient - Zo is not one to disobey. She’s known to keep to her word and do what she’s told to do. If she is to fetch a bowl of water for an injury, or to clean an entire house, she will do exactly as she is told, and as efficiently as possible. This makes Zo great for working around the house or in the tavern, where obedience is a tool of opportunity. While to many strict obedience may seem counterproductive to growth, Zo understands that it can open doors and garner respect from the more elite crowd.

    • Combat: Wind Magic - Zo has almost never used her magic for combat, but it’s a skill that allows her to be quite dangerous in a situation where she must. Zo, who has studying Air Magic for almost 29 years, is able to cause lots of damage to the individual through her powerful wind magic. While she does not use it often against other individuals, she has the ability to block projectiles in mid-flight and propel opponents across rooms. Her magic is also useful as a utility tool as she can use it for things such as sailing.

    • Mental: Social Aptitude - Miti-Ji Zo’s kind and caring nature, compounded with her politeness and excellent manners, give her the ability to quickly gain friends and assimilate quickly into potentially abrasive or aloof societies. Even the harshest and most disciplinary of peoples will soon find themselves softened through Zo’s motherly nature.
    Weaknesses
    • Combat: Combat inexperience - Having no combat training or experience of any sort Zo is in no condition for a hand-to-hand fight. Although she is a skilled wind mage and can use that to her advantage, when her magic is undermined through means such as Anti-Magic or lapis she has no other combat-oriented strengths whatsoever. She tries to stay out of harm's way, avoiding drunks and the sewers. More powerful opponents are usually easily be able to defeat her despite her advanced ability thanks to her strict avoidance of fighting and general lack of experience.

    • Physical: Lack of Wealth - During the Qadir invasion, Zo’s house was burnt to the ground, along with her work place, as it was in what is now known as the burnt district. Zo had to reside in her home islands until the city was recaptured by the Ailor army. By the time Zo had returned and bought a new house in the poor district with what she had left, she had fallen into the cycle of poverty. She now struggles in her daily life to provide for her daughter with what she needs. Despite her obvious social and magical skills her poverty often greatly limits her ability to advance in society and garner better standards of living.

    • Mental: Naive - If one was to try hard enough, Zo could be persuaded into believing what she was told. This could potentially lead to Zo making bad decisions based on false things she was told or information she was given. Furthermore, her lack of experience with the “rough” side of life also aids this naivety in bringing her into unwelcome circumstances. This is the same naivety that swept her into an ill-thought-out engagement and resulted in her husband leaving her shortly after Tadame’s birth.
    • Mental: Workaholic - Zo's obedient and sensitive nature play a large role when Zo finds herself working to hard to get things done, or trying to do too many things at once. She's often quick to stress and will once and a while have a small breakdown if her day is going bad. This issue she usually cures with relaxing meditation.
    Combat Styles
    • Zo has not partaken in any sort of combat training. She sees violence as a negative thing and avoids it. Though if it was crucially necessary in a situation such as the danger of a close friend or family member, she is able to use air magic to great effect. She uses the Gusting Wind form of air magic, and as such is able to render enemy projectiles almost useless and blast objects around with ease. She can maintain powerful gusts of wind for upwards of 5 minutes and cast again after only a few minutes of recovery, allowing her to neutralize any threats quite effectively when those she wishes to protect are threatened. However, her lack of combat experience leads her to be easily duped by common anti-magic tricks or methods, such as interrupting the spell by distracting the caster or dodging around the unidirectional blasts of wind.
    Background

    Relationships

    Family:
    • Miti-Xi Shinobu (Father) - NPC - Zos father, Shinobu has always had a close connection with Zo. He tries to send Zo what money he can to help provide, but current situations in the Yang-Tzu Islands have made such a thing hard. Shinobu is known in his home community has a very wise man. He makes many decisions for the town and is a great person to talk to when Zo is going through hard times such as now.

    • Miti Aika (Mother) - NPC - Aika was a very strict, but smart mother. Throughout Zos entire childhood, she kept Zo in tip-top shape, making sure her manners and positive attitude were in check. Zo takes very much after her mother.

    • Miti-Ji Tao (Brother) - Deceased - Tao was a huge part of Zos life. Not only was he a kind and generous brother, but he was Zos greatest role model. Before his death, Tao gave Zo a pair of beautiful earrings for her birthday. Tao died at age 34, from a great sickness. Zo wears these earrings everyday in remembrance of him and to honor his memory.

    • Miti Tadame (Daughter) - xXLexAngelXx - Miti and Tadame have a relationship like no other. Though Tadame is young, she understands how hard her mother works to provide her with what she needs and wants. Tadames grateful nature plays a large factor in their relationship. Raising Tadame by herself has always been the greatest challenge. Not because of Tadames attitude, but because of the lack of income running through the family.
    Friends:
    • Fei Jao (Best Friend) - Xerxes145 - Not only is Fei the first friend Zo had in Regalia, but he is also her closest friend. Zo first met Fei whilst she was meditating near the top of the waterfall in the Regalian Park. He approached her and joined her in her meditation. Afterwards, the common interest in magic caused a long conversation between the two. They have been friends ever since.

    • Dax D’Aeterno (Friend) - Lord_Immortal - Zo met Dax in the tavern whilst he stood by the entrance. They exchanged names and a large conversation about employment in Regalia began. After an hour or two of talking, they had befriended each other.

    • Cameron Shantz (Friend) - PryingLion - Cameron was yet another individual Zo met in the tavern. Though he has moved to Ithania, they still write to each other and hangout with one another when he does visit Regalia.

    • Estella Walerius (Acquaintance) - xXLexAngelXx - Zo met Estella Walerius outside the tavern on the street. As Zo walked by, Estella gave a greeting and complimented her dress. Zo returned the greeting and they talked for a little while before Zo had to hurry to work.

    • Tanya Cataylia (Friend) - FearlessPigeon - Just like Fei, Zo met Tanya in the park on top the waterfall. Tanya found Zo standing near the cliff of the waterfall looking over the park. Curious, she joined Zo, and they befriended each other.

    • Emily-Belle Kathryn (Acquaintance) - WillyPill7 - Zo met Emily on the crown road in Regalia after Emily gave a kind compliment to Zos eyes. Zo thanked her for her kindness as to which Zo was not used to. They spoke of racism and Zo’s daughter, Tidame. After Emily offered Zo a few regals, Zo did what she could to repay and invited Emily home for Tea. Emily gratefully accepted and Zo led Emily to her house where she prepared her Chi’en-Ji Tea and Biscuits.
    Life Story

Miti-Ji Zo was born in 262 AC in the Yang-Tzu Islands to two lovely parents Miti-Xi Shinobu and Miti Aika. Throughout her entire childhood she grew up with her older brother and role model, Miti-Ji Tao, who was born 260 AC. Zo’s parents sent her and Tao to school, where Tao succeeded and a much higher level than Zo throughout the years. Their life in the Islands was quite disciplined, thanks to Zo’s mother Aika. She was very, clever but unlike their father, she was very strict. Shinobu was the hardest worker in the family. The main source of income came into the family though his work. Many of the townsfolk knew of Shinobu as a very wise man and a great person to talk to when you were going through hard times. Zo’s parents, even unto this day, have never had any kind of economical problem. Her parents always had enough to keep the family stable, a luxury Zo would soon have to let go.

At the age of 12, Zo and Tao both began to learn Air Magic, or as it was called in the Yang-Tzu Islands, Qi’Baiwu. This was a very conflicting time for Tao, as his father much wished Tao to attend the teachings of an old well skilled fire mage that lived in the village. Tao refused, claiming he wished to learn alongside his sister whom he had grown up with. As for school, Tao still succeeded with outstanding grades compared to the other students. Zo on the other hand, was mainly in the middle with the average students of the class. By the end of their teenage years, Zo and Tao had both graduated to the Novice levels of Air Magic. They mostly performed in each other's presence, lifting cups and sometimes even books or a stool if they worked together.

When Zo came of age, she met a rather charming Chi’en-Ji named Jaostoo-Ki. They fell in love, and even after numerous warnings from Tao to ‘slow down’ they became engaged and a few months later, bore a child named Miti Tadame. Only a few hours after the child was born, consequences for such a quick relationship occurred as Jaostoo-Ki disappeared, leaving Zo to tend for the child alone.

Zo’s adulthood was and still is, the hardest stage of her life so far. She moved to Regalia when she was 20, and for quite some time she enjoyed a relatively stable life (even if she did have to provide for her daughter on her own). However, her life fell apart in 294 AC, when her brother, Miti Tao, died after only a few days of being ill. The sickness as to which he died from is still unknown today, but it came so suddenly that Zo had an immensely difficult time recovering emotionally as her role model was sucked away from her. Zo then had to continue on without the brother she had spent so much of her time with. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t be the powerful mage she is today. The second and most devastating hit occurred whilst Zo was visiting her parents in the Yang-Tzu Islands. Word had spread across the land that Regalia, the powerful Ailor city, had been taken and overrun by the Qadir. Zo, obviously unable and unwilling to go home, resided with her parents until further news was obtained. After her family was informed that the city had been retaken, and was now safe, Zo returned to find not only her house but the entire district she resided and worked in burned to crisp. This was a huge hit for Zo financially, and after receiving what money she could from her parents, she bought a house in the poor district. She now works as a cleaner, going from house to house asking for quick jobs. It doesn’t pay much and there have been many days when Zo and her daughter have gone hungry.

Currently, Miti is still attempting to gain as much money as possible to sustain her and her child. She has hopes of working at the tavern as a barmaid, serving drinks and taking orders.

I hereby claim this character for review!
    • You say studying magic until 40. But now she's 41. Has that changed, or typo?
    • What of personal goals? Add those to her life goals, to round her out beyond magic.
    • Just add these two aspects to all personality traits. Consider what sort of situation the traits fit into (social interaction, general mood, decision making etc), and how it molds her overall personality.
    • Add one more mental weakness.
    • I dig the stormtroopers thing, but remove it. Good job.
    • Add a touch more detail to visual descriptions, especially head and body.
    • Colour all changes in blue, and tag me when you're done. @TheGreyWolf
    Application Progress: Under Review!

Careful, workaholic can be seen as a strength. I expect you to play it almost -solely- as a limitation.

Hey love the application! I can't wait for this character (if they do) to reach Expert Level Air Mage.
Really excited if you plan on making that Update in the future (though it will require re-review + special perm) I highly advise to it!
Playing an Expert Air Mage is very fun. I hope I can roleplay with Miti-ji Zo sometime, as my Talar is an advance in Air Magic. Perhaps they can become rivals? Or great friends? Who knows!
