MINISTER MALCOLM M. LOWE
MINISTRY OF INFORMATION
REGALIA STATE
1.1.311AC
Introduction. 1
We at the MOI are pleased to introduce the new Identification Bureau, a division of the Ministry of Information's law enforcement branch. The Identification Bureau is responsible for the investigation of smaller crimes that pose a threat to the security of our State. This division will counterbalance the Inspector Branch, which focuses on major crimes against the State. The Identification Bureau will be led by Chief Lutwig Schulzmann, a Doctor of Forensic Sciences with a long history of investigative experience. Chief Schulzmann and his team are dedicated to upholding the law and bringing those who break it to justice. We have confidence in their abilities and know that they will serve the State well.
Responsibility. 2
The Identification Bureau shall be responsible for the investigation of smaller crimes that are important to the security of the State. This division shall counterbalance the Inspector Branch, which focuses on major crimes against the State. The Identification Bureau shall be composed of highly trained and competent professionals who shall work diligently to ensure the safety and security of the State. The division shall have the authority to gather information, evidence, and testimony as necessary to solve crimes and bring perpetrators to justice. The Identification Bureau shall report directly to the Head of Division, who reports directly to the Minister of Information and who shall work closely with other branches of the Ministry of Information as well as with other law enforcement agencies to ensure the efficient and effective execution of its duties. The Identification Bureau shall be led by Chief Lutwig Schulzmann, a Doctor of Forensic Sciences with a long history of investigative responsibilities.
Uniform & Identity. 3
In order to effectively carry out their duties, members of the Identification Bureau are outfitted in a distinctive uniform. The uniform consists of a dark blue or black coat with brass buttons, a waist belt with a buckle, trousers, and black boots. These elements of the uniform serve to easily identify members of the Identification Bureau as law enforcement officers. The coat and boots all contribute to the professional and authoritative appearance of the uniform. The brass buttons and waist belt with buckle add a touch of elegance and tradition. The badge on the breast, with the officer's initials and hire date, adds a personal touch and allows for easy identification of specific officers. The dark blue or black colour of the coat and trousers helps to convey a sense of authority and professionalism. It also allows for a more uniform look among all members of the Identification Bureau. The black boots add to the professional appearance and also serve a practical purpose, as they provide support and protection for the officers while they are on duty. The uniform is a symbol of the dedication and commitment of these officers to serve and protect their community.
Patrolling. 4
In addition to its investigative duties, the Identification Bureau patrols the streets in uniform and is available for citizens to report any anti-citizen behaviour or immediate threats against the State. Patrol officers may be on the lookout for suspicious activity or individuals, and may also respond to calls for assistance or reports of crimes in progress. The Identification Bureau may also use surveillance technologies, such as PROJECT: CAST, to monitor areas of the city and gather evidence related to criminal investigations. The goal of the patrol system is to maintain a visible presence in the community and to deter criminal activity, as well as to assist the State Metropolitan where they need it.
Equipment. 5
Officers in the Identification Bureau are granted the right to carry their state-sanctioned Single-shot Garnier V1 Armistance Pistol in a leather holster on their utility belt as part of their standard equipment. This weapon is a reliable and effective tool for officers in their duties to protect the security of the State. In addition to the pistol, officers are also equipped with Double-locking Tamer Handcuffs, a whistle, a lantern, a pocket watch, and white cloth gloves. The handcuffs are used to detain and control suspects, while the lantern and pocket watch are used to keep track of time and provide illumination during investigations. The white cloth gloves are worn to protect evidence and prevent contamination of the crime scene. These tools are essential for the officers of the Identification Bureau as they work to solve crimes and bring perpetrators to justice. The professionalism and competence of the officers are reflected in their attention to detail and their commitment to following proper procedures and protocols in their investigations.
Pathology Forensics Division. 6
The Ministry of Information recently established the Forensics Division, a new division dedicated to providing forensic analysis and evidence collection. The Forensics Division is now being transferred to the Identification Bureau. The transfer of the Forensics Division into the Identification Bureau will allow for more efficient and effective identification and tracking efforts. There may be some challenges to overcome during the transition, but the Ministry of Information is confident that the move will ultimately lead to improved services for the government and the people of the State.
Hierarchy. 7
The Identification Bureau's hierarchy is broken up into five ranks. The Chief, who heads all operational and administrative duties within overseeing the IB. The Superintendent, who's a field-superiority rank. The Leftenant. The Sergeant, and finally, the Corporal.
- Chief
- Superintendent
- The Superintendent rank is one of in-field superiority, however, this still doesn't mean they outrank certain people. For example, a fictitious Officer Jack Law could have the rank of Sergeant Superintendent, meaning a Leftenant outranks him, but the Leftenant while in the field with said SI needs to take into account why Jack Law is a SI, and typically would have more field experience than the Leftenant.
- Leftenant (rank 1-2)
- Sergeant (rank 1-2)
- Corporal
