Well, I've been dying to make one of these, and I've finally worked out the bugs. Now, I'll be posting most of my wondrous builds here. For now, I'll be giving you two examples before moving onto more later on. I'll try to add a description under the picture of the build. So, ENJOY! Examples: Spoiler: Orcish Hut Example A small orcish hut made from jungle and oak planks. It's also kind of resembles Jorrvaskr from Skyrim. Spoiler: Regalian-ish Apartment House Example This is a build which was based off of the present Regalian style.
Airships/Boats: Spoiler: Airship #1 A small, cargo airship for short distances. Equipped with minor sails on the sides, allowing for slight maneuvers. Spoiler: Airship #2 A larger, more updated version of my airship design. Now it includes a more balloon looking balloon, structure to keep the balloon stable, and a narrower hull. Though, the proportion of the balloon to the ship itself is slightly bigger than the previous design, I will make sure to widen the balloon to ship ratio even more next time. Regalian-ish Builds: Spoiler: Regalian-ish Common Home #1 The Regalian style compacted into a small, common home. Spoiler: Regalian-ish Apartment Facade #1 A facade of a Regalian-styled house with large stained glass windows. Spoiler: Regalian-ish Apartment Facade #2 A new and improved version of the apartment facade design, now including a small flower garden and a walkway before the main door. Orcish Builds: Spoiler: Orcish Hut #1 The orcish hut style from the main two examples, but with birch planks rather than jungle planks and a circular shape rather than an oval shape. Viking Longboats: Spoiler: Viking Longboat #1 Spoiler: Viking Longboat #2 This version of the longboat has a slightly different hull design, and the oak wood planks have been replaced with spruce wood planks.
You should make a lore compliant airship. The ones you usually see on the server are actually most of the time not lore compliant. A good one would have a heat source to fill the main gas envelope, and have sails to help turn the airship.
-= Update =- Added a small airship design. Added a small common house with the Regalian style. Added another Orcish hut. Added another Regalian-ish House.
@MegaMummy200 Good builds, they're pleasing to look at. My suggestion to you would be to really work on breaking up the symmetry from one side to another. The best example of this would be your Regalian apartment. It's a good design with depth but you can feel that it's lacking something to break up the repetition. Maybe add a balcony that sticks out, a window on the roof, a smokestack, or really anything that draws the eye in. Overall good builds, I'm eager to see what you create in the future.
Wonderful suggestions, love to hear from a fellow builder. I'll make sure to work on that in the near future.
I agree with Cirolan. I don't think a balloon of that size would be able to support both the weight of the boat and its crew. From what I've seen, airships tend to have balloons that are at least 1.5 times the size of the actual ship. The airship looks pretty cool though if you don't consider the size of the balloon.
I'll get onto it, thanks for the feedback. Next time I'll make sure to make the balloon a ton bigger.
If you had an airship that's actually good enough to float in the air, I'm sure there would be a way to regulate the gas....
Lovely builds! For your Regalian style I would suggest breaking up the stone brick facade to differentiate more where the roofline starts. Try using steps/slabs for better detail along the roof edge?
I like the 'orcish' builds, they would look cool on the side of a mountain or something like that. The curly bit on the front of the viking longboat looks awesome too
I thought: "OMG, these viking boats! I NEED some." Then I remembered my faction is in the middle of a freaking mountain
