I hardly build anything nowadays, as I consider myself quite burnt-out in regards to minecraft and creativity. However, I started working on this mansion about two weeks ago, it was originally meant to be the home estate of house Walerius, although it has overgrown that quite a bit (we'll see if the RP/lore staff approves).
The mansion itself has a moderate size compared to real-life mansions, but it would be considered 'huge' or 'enormous' in the Alorian sense.
Current parts include:
Warden's tower, brown parlor, dining room, lounge and master's quarters (western wing)
Great hall with grand staircase (central wing)
White parlor, black parlor and 4 bedchambers (eastern wing)
Stables, grey parlor and 3 bedchambers (southeastern wing)
Greenhouse and pump house (southern buildings)
Sevants' quarters, kitchen, storage rooms (cellar / first floor)
Wine cellar (underground, entrance underneath main entrance)
The mansion also includes four statues handcrafted by myself and two statues taken from a random youtube video. The handcrafted statues /should/ depict:
- The Thinker
- Atlas
- NapolƩon Bonaparte on Horse
- A random dragon skull
The style itself is a bit of Victorian mixed in with some baroque and gothic in a pathetic attempt to create something rather unique that could stand lore-compliant in the world of Aloria. I take much pride in realism, meaning that I equip almost every room with a fireplace or a tile stove (there is currently one room lacking a heat source), I make sure chimneys are well-placed and I pay attention to support beams and pillars. I also seek to reduce the size of windows to a maximum of 3x3.
The mansion also features a miniature version of Frederick the Great's Sansouci, a greenhouse with terraces and chambers for plants on the southern side of the mansion. (@PariahFolk)
There is also a carriage parking lot behind the stables, with a drive-through archway.
Here is one album and another one from different stages of construction, if you'd like to see more pictures. I'll be trying to keep this thread updated for the sake of you overseeing the construction.
