This thread will act as a linkable resource, that fully explains MassiveCraft's Media Content Policy/Guideline as it pertains to for example Art that gets posted, or Media that gets shared. This post will not discuss the obvious common sense rules, like not posting plagiarized content and claiming it as your own, posting private or personal content without consent, or posting things that are against the law. This will purely discuss what is allowed to be posted as media content in our public channels, and what should require content warnings if any apply. We heavily refer to the Tumblr user guidelines for inspiration, and will in some cases directly mimic their writing because what works for Tumblr and Visa, probably works for us.

Whenever a Spoiler is required, this Spoiler must use clear language. unclear language like "spoilered for mantiddy" is not appropriate. We require that all Spoilers have very clear language, such as "Spoilered because it shows a Zombie-Character in a state of decomposition". Failure to comply will lead to post-removal. All the below-mentioned guidelines are assumed from good faith, meaning bad faith attempts to circumvent or otherwise avoid the spirit of the rules, will be treated as a violation.

Violent Content, Gore, Mutilation, Body Horror
  • A clear Spoiler with a warning for Body Horror material would be Content Warning: This content contains Body Horror material.
  • Do not post content that involves dismemberment, body parts being contorted and twisted into unnatural angles, torture, or human or animal remains.
    • Many players in the community are not comfortable with visually violent depictions. Scenes that depict combat, including with the presence of blood are permitted. Characters with for example blood running from their nose, or bruised knuckles are also permitted. Characters having large or multiple open wounds are not permitted.
  • Depictions of scars either from weapons or burning are not body horror. It is fine if the content does not depict fresh wounds.
  • While animal remains are generally not permitted, clean bones for example in jewelry or symbolism, are permitted.
    • Normal consumption of cooked animal parts, or symbolic usage in religious rituals/ fashion/ family heraldry is fine.
  • Zombie-like character appearances with rotting flesh are permitted but must be censored with a Spoiler with a clear warning.
    • Through the lore, Undead and Ghosts just happen to exist. While we do not want to invalidate Undead Characters as inappropriate to perceive visually, some art gets too realistic too detailed, and corpse-like. The Spoiler allowance creates a clear content warning for those who do not want to see this.
  • Magical Mutations/ Body Modding is generally not included in the Body Horror tagline unless the mutation itself makes the character appear to be losing bodily cohesion or turning into a "flesh monster". In such cases, the content is permitted but must be censored with a Spoiler with a clear warning.
Sexually suggestive material
  • A clear Spoiler with a warning for explicit material would be Content Warning: This content contains sexually suggestive material.
  • Content on MassiveCraft must generally speaking be Safe For Work (SFW) as opposed to Not Safe For Work (NSFW).
  • Do not post content that involves depictions of sexually explicit acts or scenes, or content with an overt focus on genitalia.
  • Nudity and other kinds of adult material are generally not permitted, with minor exceptions.
    • Art that is borderline nudity (bare cleavage, bare masc-chest or thigh gaps, revealing clothing that does not show genitalia, etc.) is permitted without spoilers. If the intent of the media veers in the direction of being provocative with erotic intent (through pose, action, expression) even when it shows no genitalia or sexual acts, it must have a Spoiler with a clear warning.
    • Art that is a "clean version" of an otherwise erotic act or depiction, must have a Spoiler with a clear warning. Just because clothes are added to a Character in an otherwise provocative pose or action, does not make them not sexually suggestive.
    • If you are unsure about whether your art has a suggestive lean, please just Spoiler it to be safe.
Ultimately, Staff are the arbitrators of what counts as the perceived intent of a piece of media, not the artist/commissioner themselves. If your post is deleted, you will not receive a warning or notification of this act, it will just be deleted, assuming that deletion sends a clear signal that either the content was inappropriate or not properly spoilered with a content warning as instructed.
