He graduated from the Büxel academy at the age of 21 and first served as auxiliary in the Calemberg legions, then joined the Montanian forces proper as a cavalry officer and has served there for most of his life (17 years in total, 23 including his training). School: Bannership Level: Scholar Source: Mathias climbed up the ranks of the Montanian cavalry over the course of his life eventually reaching the point where he can now command a small amount of cavalry forces on the field with ease and confidence. Clothing: Usually clad in his military uniform worn in his cavalry squadron, though when attending an event where it’d be unwelcome, he’d wear simple Ithanian suits. Height: 5’10” Body Build: Athletic Weapon of Choice: An elaborately decorated cavalry saber he also keeps as his dress-saber for ceremonies. Personality and Abilities: Mathias can be normally seen with a friendly grin on his face with a charismatic air about him. He welcomes casual conversation when he isn’t working or on duty and tries to keep up a reasonably optimistic attitude in his conversations. He keeps his behavior respectful towards those he meets to not be disrespectful. Though, when he works or the time comes, he can be seen as quite the serious man, demanding respect when needed. Within himself, Mathias is his own savior and enemy. He constantly takes in the opinions of other people and his own opinions on himself and what he did the day prior in an attempt to better himself. Many failures and mistakes came more to him in his younger years, saying the wrong title, speaking out of turn, or even drinking a bit too much. More recently, it has been simple mistakes in his technique, that he needs to constantly work on, and simply getting beaten in races or spars. To complete his main ambition, to become a legend, he must be the best he can be, so he must work constantly. Though, Eclair seems to be on his mind more-so then himself, trying to keep the horse as well kept as he can. Mathias around friends and family is much calmer. He strives to be as respectful as the situation calls for, but due to his love for them, he also is blunter in his opinions and advice. After delivering such opinions and advice, he tends to become more tender as he explains himself. With his more prestigious peer, he keeps his blunt opinions to himself until he asks if he can speak freely. Mathias can be seen as a Lawful and Neutral individual. He holds the Military law closest to his heart, but he follows all law set by the Regalian Empire. He is mostly just in his actions, though he hardly questions the decisions of those higher up than him unless it’s against his own moral code. His personal decisions hold very little ambition to it that would cause him to use others for his own benefit. Talents: Born into the saddle: Mathias at a young age always adored horses. He saw them as majestic animals who could run as much as they want and see many different places in the world. So when he was 9 years old he started to ride simple ponies, showing a natural talent and a passion towards the horses. This allowed Mathias to bond easier with his Pferd-freund. Well Educated: Mathias, in addition to his horseback riding, was also relatively well taught. His mother was a teacher herself, so he was homeschooled. He was taught to speak d’Ithanie, Dressolini, and common. He is only fluent in common and is mediocre with d’Ithanie and Dressolini, though he is working on it. Excellent Memory: Mathias has always had a natural affinity for his studies and remembering things. Whenever someone wrongs him, he keeps it in his mind and waits for the proper time when that information may be of use. He also can easily recall the events that he has been apart of and what he has learned. Life Story: Childhood [ Birth to 9] : Mathias was born on March 26th, 268 A.C. in a small cliff town in Montania. He saw his mother, Rose Quint, as the most prominent parental figure due to his father, Éric Quint, being an active member of the Montainian forces. At the age of 5, Mathias’ homeschooling began through his mother, who hoped to become a teacher one day. Since he was homeschooled, Mathias showed increasing interest in animals, specifically horses. Whenever his father came home he’d always show him an interesting picture of a horse he attempted to draw or something in a book he read. At the age of 9, he was able to begin to ride almost daily on a ponie due to his height, beginning to show his apparent gift for the sport. Teenage Years [ 11 to 15 ] : When he was 11, Mathias began to become slightly more with the languages he was being taught in a public school now. He also got more help from an elderly Dressolini baker named Viola Mancinelli, who he worked with. Rose Quint became a teacher in the school in town after believing she was up to the task, bringing more happiness into his life, while also almost daily giving his mother compliments after school. Mathias continued to ride whenever he was able, and with the money, that he earned by working with Mrs. Mancinelli, was able to purchase himself his first horse who he named Milo. Éric Quint sadly died of a heart attack when Mathias was 13, causing him to have to focus more on supporting his mother to get her though her period of grieving, soon selling Milo to give his mother extra support for the time. Mathias decided to join the Military to honor his father’s memory at the age of 15, becoming a cavalryman in training in the Büxel academy. Adult Years [ 20 to Present Day] : Mathias graduated from the academy to join the Calemberg legions at the age of 20, after purchasing his Pferd-freund, who he promptly named Éclair due to how fast the pair seemed together. When Mathias was 22 he served during the Ranger Crisis where he became decently acquainted to Battista d'Ortonnaise, only to then have fought under his wing during the Battle of Curag Fields, where he sadly perished. Due to the impression Battista left on him, Mathias tried to keep in relative good contact with the d’Ortonnaise family. Such became easier when he moved to join the Montanian forces, like his father, after his service with the Calemberg legions. As the years passed Mathias continued to ride with Éclair and strive to better himself, keeping the bond between him and his Pferd-freund strong. This would soon lead up to him becoming a Cavalry Officer. This caused Mathias to serve in the Elven wars at the age of 39, and the Bone Horror Crisis at the age of 41. Mathias is now 42 years old and has made his way to Regalia after sending word to the d’Ortonnaise family in hopes to start a new chapter in his life and to continue his story.
Review Graduation for School of Drixon would make your character 21 at that time, five years total for training. Then you are able to complete the School of Bannership in twenty years. In order for this to work your character would need to be at minimum 41, though 42 is recommended. Make the appropriate changes in the Basic Information and Skill Information sections. The School of Leadership for Officer Command is redundant due to the School of Bannership permitting a leadership skill equal to a Field Commander, but if you choose to keep it that is up to you.
