I know this has become a more discussed topic. A lot of people have made the excuse that school has started again which is true. I am in school but I still have time to play, but I don't think this should drop the player base as much as it has. Frankly I think the main Issue is the fact that factions world is dying. I believe the main issue is the concentration on RP over Factions world. Even now they have RP events about once a week it seems while they saw that factions world isn't doing to well so they made Crisis Of kings. Which seems to be a failure since it was mainly focused around PvP which is also dead. It seems they're also to lazy to even keep track of the points or maybe I'm blind and deaf cause everyone I've asked couldn't tell me where to find it. I also couldn't find it myself.

In the end maybe I'm wrong maybe Massive isn't dying I just can't seem to find anything to do. Or maybe its because I'm a pvper and pvp is deader than Micheal Jackson. Another reason factions world is dead is because pvp is dead. With there being about 15 active pvpers and thats probably an exaggeration. Its probably due to the lack of effort of pvpers not wanting to get better. It seems the only pvp now a days is fights between Drangleic, Solarian, Magnanimus, and Wyvern (aka baeyris} at tp raidsolarian. It looks like a lot of pvpers who aren't that great refuse to try and get better so they just don't pvp at all. Who cares though amirite? That seems to be the mentality of most even mine.

What do I know though. because over all I'm bad ecks DEE

Fully agree, too much emphasis is placed on regalia and the faction worlds are forgotten! Crisis of kings was a brilliant idea but I feel it was quickly forgotten after its inception

This is just going to get locked in 20 minutes, almost guaranteed by the title, but I will toss in my two cents as an ex pvper now rper. You're missing a huge part about this, PvPers rely too much on staff members to make events and to do things, while Rpers literally host events themselves for their own roleplay. The concept of pvp gets boring, and thats just how it is. Swinging swords on a block game gets boring, trying to find something that will keep you distracted is hard when PvP is as plain as it is.

Respectable this is something I should've mentioned glad you brang it up and this is very true. This brings us to the point of why do we need RP events when as you said Rpers make them up themselves which a rp event every now and then is cool. But I think things like the tournaments are cool but they need some events for PvP as you suggested.

@hardname12

With role play, as @Brycea111 said, it is self-maintained through the player-base. I can understand that you've been looking around and possibly seeing things... These may be exaggerations or truths, but be aware that role play usually occurs at hubs, and whilst this may be the tavern for most people, some groups and organisations (such as criminal and nobles) have their own gathering placing due to role play prestige.

If you were to take a look at the Calender, of which the events on Massive are displayed, you'd find that there are a number of roleplay events available... I mean, more than your:
Even now they have RP events about once a week it seems

Which by this Calender, you can see that there is roughly an average of three or four events per week. I think you need to try and look around more or perhaps try to dig a little further into the scene. Usually, people are happy to notify you IC of events if you just ask... It's also my belief that players tend to come out of their shells during school time for events, and some will try and get on during their free hours. Remember that this is the internet after all, and due to several majority time zones, sometimes players or groups won't be available until much later, or much earlier.

The roleplaying world may need some inspiration where Massive (as in huge) events are concerned, but those take time and preparation. I hope this shifted your mind, even if only slightly.~

If you're looking for a factions server, why are you one of the most popular Minecraft roleplaying servers at all?
You honestly cant complain about something not being focused on when it is far from the main idea of the server.

If you get what I mean :A

Well, the biggest problem I think (and I'm gonna be a little devisive here) is that the RP world is far more EXCLUSIVE than INCLUSIVE which has lead to a large exodus of players in the last year I've been here. I have material in the unlikely event that anyone essay post carefully pointing out my reasoning so, rate informative if you want the post?

MassiveCraft is advertised as the Factions RPG server. After all, this server is the one that created the Factions plugin. It started out as a factions server before there was roleplay.

This is an issue with every thread like this, where people claim things are dead without any evidence and lack of solutions. So I'm going to turn this into something productive.

What do you think can be done to solve this problem? You said Crisis of Kings is failing, what do you believe would solve that issue? Why is that system failing you and what would improve it? On the grounds of events, just host factions events. PvP tournaments, three versus three factions duals. There's lots of options if factions players wish to host them.

Be constructive instead of arguing amongst yourselves or agreeing that things are crap. That doesn't solve anything. Say what is wrong, then expand on how it could be improved upon. What would you like to see with it?

My main issue with threads like this is that there is little to no possible solutions offered, you're merely pointing out the issue, which is evident to a lot of us. Any particular improvements you may have toward this would be greatly appreciated, but these things will not occur overnight, and will need the constant support of you guys, the community.

I'm going to close this thread as it does not appear to be leading down a productive line of discourse. By all means, if you have suggestions and ideas for how to draw more players in, make the server more entertaining for PvP, improve Crisis of Kings, etc - then make these suggestions. Just posting a thread saying "massive may be dying" is just going to result in arguments and fear-mongering.
