Massive Christmas (yes, I Know This Is Very Early)

Hi, I just wanted to have a discussion about Christmas or other yuletide/winter seasons and events and how it gets incorporated into lore, if at all.

I joined the server just around Christmas last year, and I hadn't begun learning anything about this server, so I consider my first massive Christmas to be this upcoming December. Again, I know this is very early.

However, I was wondering- if I want to incorporate Christmas or some yuletide festival into my roleplay, do we have any set things having to do with Christmas in lore?

My first thought was this: Christmas is a religious festival, so any faction or civilization could create their own Christmas-like event for their faction, and celebrate it with their religion. However I then thought that these days Christmas is more of a seasonal event that everyone celebrates, even if they aren't christian. I remember from last Christmas that it was celebrated in-game with staff events and such, but were those events considered lore friendly? For example, if I, in roleplay, told my faction we were throwing a "Christmas celebration", would that work?

I was thinking that perhaps if I wanted to do something like that in roleplay, perhaps I would call it something more medieval, like a "Yuletide Festival", but would Christmas suffice?

Well I think I've done enough rambling, any thoughts?

Well as my faction Karlaug is build up in northern Ellador with many lovely spruce trees and isn't sore on the eyes either, I was thinking about setting up a small winter festival. Not any huge event or anything, just a party for people to come and roleplay together. That's the main reason I asked, I just want any party that I throw to be roleplay friendly with whatever winter festival that massive accepts in roleplay.

AGAIN, MY DREAM TELLS ME WHAT WILL HAPPEN. I dreamed of an anime man talking about Christmas to me for Massivecraft, and personally, I have no idea how they will celebrate it. I don't know if they could use it with a religion, or like what most celebrate it for, perhaps a time of giving, and to enjoy each other's aquaintences and give gifts, put up a sacred tree, iunno.

We have skipped christmas in the past due to Some People get offended. Thats Why last year there was a "winter festival".

Kinda reminds me how a few friends I know swear they don't believe in Christ at all, yet the celebrate Christmas... .___.

But anyways, that would be neat to see, perhaps having it snow for a change in Regalia could be neat. Er, poor Nagas. You're gonna be beaten by a Snail. And, erm, the Maiar too. They're gonna be a Sushi platter...
Seeing a celebration like so would be neat, however why not have it go ACROSS Regalia, and not just one focused center? After all, it would have less lag in many situations, and would make it much cooler for the new players, not just like "ohay winter shtuff now we go git food"
They would actually get to enjoy further into the map,
"ohay winter shtuff ohai coco ale ohay presents 4 me"

There was Winter festival last year, and map what was there last year(winterfest) will be here this year aswell, so we will have Christmas events and stuff on that map.(I remember how I won on PvP tournament there ^^)

Well maybe we can decorate the tavern still, just not Christmas colours just festive with snow and stuff?

The situation you described in the top is what I am as well. Anyways, so if I am going to host a winter party at my faction home, it's not christmas, just "winter festival.". What about Christmas trees? Er, winter trees?

I'm not sure if this is due to the ties the Solstice has with real religions of past and present, but regardless it would appear a more creative name for a winter celebration.
