From the Desk of the Manager of the Arena
Baroq Emilienne di Civita

It has been too long of a wait that the pits of the arena remain bare, and with no spectators in the stands to witness the shows of battle. However, this drought period quickly ends with the ushering in of a new season and one that will start off right. Which, as with every beginning, there must be an introduction.

With much work left to be done and little time to dilly dally, this missive I write today only serves as an introduction for what is to come in the following month. A greater explanation system will be released in the coming weeks for the Imperial gladiators and duels. But as for now, I plan and request to meet with each family to find a suitable fighter to represent and bring honor to their house in the arena firstly.

In order to participate in the games, a house must have a fighter to represent in the arena. This can either be a family member from their respective house or a commoner they wish to sponsor; however, it is highly recommended for the chosen to be of common-descent. The fighters must be signed up with the Manager of the Arena to be approved, and then it is from there that it is up to the family to either accept or reject said recommended fighter if one was not chosen beforehand.

Interviews will be held throughout the coming weeks for those who wish to be considered a fighter for the Imperial Court by the Manager of Arena. If a time does not suit, it is recommended to send a letter by courier to plan a private meeting or to conduct an interview by paper. Once approved, a fighter will be recommended to a family which will be notified and a meeting will be conducted between the two for either sponsorship or rejection.

It is to note that only upstanding citizens of the Empire can join the tournaments, and not be tainted by a criminal history or any of the like. They will be responsible for adhering to common fighting rules and conduces when on the field which will be set out at a later time. Magic will be allowed during some fights, but with a stipulation, and that is that a fighter that uses magic must be pre-approved by the Mister or Mistress of the halls in order to participate.

More information and plans will be relayed in due time. But as for now, the search for fighters to fight for honor begins. May the best fighter bring their family and the Empire glory.
Signed,

Lirhship Emilienne di Civita

~OOC Information~
  • This is just an introduction and a more planned out system will be released later. For now, meeting with families and fighters to pair everybody up.
  • If you want to join, show up to one of the ic-ads in discord that I will post throughout the coming weeks, or send me a letter through the forums if you can't make it. We'll work something out. Once you're approved, gotta meet with a house to meet to decide whether or not you're chosen.
  • Only commoners without criminal history or family members of the same house will be allowed to participate. Basic rules are in place right now which means play fair and no cheap shots for an instant win.
  • Magic will be allowed but you gotta be registered with the Mister or Mistress of the Halls (Halsi or Bunemma) to use it. There will be some limitations but that will be set out at a later date to make it fair.
  • As for when the next tournament is and more information, expect that towards the end of april. Oh, also, prepare for a bear. :3
