I've been an old lady my entire life. It's true. But since I can't draw nothin', I wanted to make a post for my other stuff. I crochet and just started dyeing yarn, and I know how to knit as well. I also weave on a floor loom and have used knitting looms and tablet looms. Miscellaneous fiber arts include working with felt, sewing, embroidery, and arm knitting. If you have questions on any of these things, or just like to talk about them, feel free to post!

Seriously. I love this stuff. Ask any questions you want, I'm always open to give advice on fiber art.

Accidentally got this effect called Color Pooling with one of my hand dyed yarns. Usually it takes a lot of planning and some math to measure your color changes and plan a pattern accordingly. This happened entirely unintentionally, and will probably never happen again because I suck at planned color pooling. Hey kids, crochet is cool!

Yeah that's the point! I traveled to Japan a couple years ago and I really like how it looked. So my first set of dyes was based on images of it. Also where I took pictures that led to the crocheted ramen bowl and ice cream. I'm not much into anime or weeb stuff but I do really love that country.

My loom at various steps when I'm weaving:

Wrapping the warp (vertical threads):


Weaving the weft (horizontal threads):


This is a rigid heddle loom with one heddle rod, which means I can do any pattern that only requires two shafts. That is, it has an up and a down position. The more complex patterns you see like twill or diagonal stripes require at least 4 shafts, sometimes up to 16 or more. But those looms are freaking gigantic and expensive.

It really depends. Sometimes I auction dolls, most of those were either gifts or sales. Otherwise I just sell what I've made on my Etsy, to prevent burnout from custom orders. If I do sell on Massive it'll likely be in the form of an auction, which I'll link to in this thread when the time comes. Unfortunately my hobbies require a TON of time to make, and with Christmas coming up I'll probably be pretty busy with presents. But watch this thread and you'll know if something comes up!

Funny enough the sweater blanket under the MISC section in the first post is on our bed right now. I started a Lannister themed Tunisian crochet blanket for him over a year ago but it's just so damn intricate and time consuming I haven't picked it up in ages here's some of the stripes I got done

So like many new shop owners on Etsy, I check my stats constantly. Today I had almost double my typical views, and about 40% of my traffic came from Massivecraft! Thanks for being supportive and giving my shop a moment of your time. My numbers are still low, but every day that does slightly better than the one before it is super encouraging.

That's how yarn makes me feel in general. But I love colors. I used to make music playlists organized by color just based on how they felt

I can see that! I like it. I was trying to do a collection based on ocean and beach colors. But one on eye color is actually a neat idea.
