If stressed, Lazarus often relies on those around him to help cool his nerves, in the hopes of relaxation, he is usually quick to act when something does get to him. Being a past guard, he understands the law very well, and along with it, it's capabilities; sometimes one must disregard these to what is truly right... Humbled from the diversity of the Bloodcast as a boy and continues to be by many companions of other races along the years, Lazarus has grown fond of many other races, in particular, his wife and their kin together. Religion has always been a roadblock more than a benefit for Lazarus, having grown tired of the constant bickering upon the topic. Majorly turning a blind eye to it for a majority of his life, with little personal encounters with such, recent events have called for him to look at such with a new perspective. Through many attempts in his life, Lazarus has finally cobbled together a family he intends to keep, one he holds pride in, despite their collaborative pitfalls. What is your character's biggest insecurity? A thought that frequently crosses Lazarus' mind would be the consideration that he may be over the hill at the current point in his life, worried about how he may protect those he cares about. What is your character the proudest of about themselves? Just how far he got himself from humble beginnings years back with little he once had to the man he has transformed into in the present. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? The little things, a smile from the lips of children, a sip of good tea, the company of partner and optimism to maybe publish one of his written works eventually. At times, Lazarus may worry over his own mortality, usually overthinking the time left he has with his wife, his loved ones, and making sure by the time he goes they're left better than when they started with him. Youth: ♫ 266 AC - A one-night stand turns to more between an Ithanian barmaid and a supposed traveling regalian soldier during his ship's stay at La Portée du Paradis, as a child is born the two decide to get together; the woman immigrating to the city with him. ♫ March 276 AC - As told by his mother; his father, being a soldier; left to fight in a 'great war' , by the time of his leaving; his wife already begins to have love affairs with others, many men begin to be leaving and entering Lazarus’ life at such a pace that the young boy from then on made a conscious decision to never be like such men; but rather try his best to lead by somewhat of an example instead. March 277 AC - Laz ’s father conspicuously disappears during the war, which breaks his young heart; being the one beam of light he'd had left in his life. Now old enough to understand his mother's harlot like attitude and the world around him in general at the realization that 'not everything is perfect', he'd begin to become thoughtful, unlike how the way he'd been as a boy. Laz would go about learning what it was to be a man independently; having no more reliable influences in his life. It was also at this point that he grew his passion for writing, doing so to pass time, something he'd carry through to the present day. June 277 AC - Due to his father's apparent prior wishes towards the boy, as he and Lazarus’ mother, had decided previously; Just a month after Laz is at the age of 10 years old; he is sent to the Cast Crucible to train as a Bloodcast Knight. His mother supposedly wanting him to be like his father. Not that her word meant much at all to the boy at this point, Laz would still visit her every so often during his stay at the Crucible, however; feeling that looking after her. Regardless as to how he felt on doing such, he assumed it would be the wish of his departed father. During his stay at the Cast Crucible, he would grow enthusiastic towards his training, feeling a sense of belonging and family that he hadn't felt since a young age when his parents were still together; Growing close to many of his fellow Bloodcast knights. He'd eventually leave; completing his training at the age of 14. ♫ 281 AC - Lazaruz completes his four year stay with his Bloodcast brothers and upon returning to his mother, he'd quickly come to learn he no longer wanted to be around the woman and the toxic aura around her he'd been living with when he was a boy, nor was it the way forward to do as those at the Bloodcast had preached; Due to this, it was but half a fortnight later that he'd leave a zealous and maybe somewhat facetious note in his mother's cluttered home of his absence. That very same night, Lazarus made his way to the docks, having noted upon hearing somebody he thought to be a crew member calling the words "NEW CEARDIA!" just a few days prior; Not that the boy knew exactly where in Aloria that was nor what it was like-- But it was something that was /not/ Regalia, and that was enough for him. So, with all but an untainted scarlet cape, a hand-me-down longsword, and an outburst of naive adrenaline to his adventures, managed to sneak his way down to the hold of the ship by the cover of night! 14 - 24: Laz travels around New Ceardia doing tasks he'd believe the Bloodcast would think well of on a journey of self-discovery about himself, and similarly the greater world aside from rose-tinted one he'd been preoccupied in prior, a changing lense on life; Travelling there as a heroic vagabond of sorts for the next decade, never staying put. ♫ Adulthood: - 25-26: Laz returns to the city, where he lives through the Lo Occupation, mostly not making good use of his time; looking after Maxine Albany, one of his oldest friends and due to this; being pushed into her crazy lifestyle. Eventually, he'd stray from caring for her; coming to the realization that he didn't want to just hang around slum dwellers and their activities but rather expand his horizons. 304 AC - By this age, Lazarus had become a far more formal, mature man. Forged by his journeys, and all those he'd met along the way. He'd majorly cut drinking from his life, instead rather growing his tea addiction. His year of forming himself to do what he set out to do by the Bloodcast: Good. Lazarus was approached by Nathaniel Bigge, whom strangely enough gave the man a job in the Wachterflottë, soon raising to a captaincy; allowing him to see more of the noble activities in Regalia, often heading to meetings with Nathaniel. He'd meet people here who would later become very close friends to him, Tobie Peirgaten and Kimmie Bigge; and at their shocking canceled marriage by Nathaniel, at the time trying his best to act as a middle man between the two parties for a period of time. 305 AC - Lazarus would soon decide, although the Wachterflottë provided him with profit. He craved something more fulfilling; Leaving Bigge in favor of the Vigilant Shield to work full-time in service under Ania Howlester. Laz's work-life has hence been slammed to an abrupt halt, being one of the few Vigilants not put under Rikkira's spell. He'd grow angry at the dragon, seeing his comrades to view such false visions. He'd attempt negotiations with those at the Bastion to free prisoners until the arrival of Jared Kade; the outcome would be the release of prisoners from both sides, although Lazarus was relieved not having the blood of innocents on his hands. He felt angered to have been played by the possessed ones in such a way. 306 AC - After having to separate from Rosalia Heinrich, due to denial by her patriarch and an ongoing struggle that had been happening for quite some time, Lazarus found himself seeing a Claith by the name of Eve Riordan; very quickly after his break-up with Rosalia. Intending for it to be a one night stand; however, she was inclined to stay. The two even wedding briefly, this all lasted until he received word from Rosalia once-more, with this the man did what is unmistakably his most corrupt act. One morning, eloping on a ship to the Hinterlands with Rosalia and his hound Sigrun; All but a note left at his home to Eve, both an apology as well as a release. Lazarus went on to wed with Rosalia in the Hinterlands, the two becoming the d'Soleil family in the process, with the intent of dodging Rosalia’s then noble family; A new life for both of them, due to return a month later from the honeymoon. After departing from the Vigilant Shield due to pleas from his wife to at least stay partially out harm's way, Lazarus began looking for a new career to occupy his time. He’d soon find a position within one of the City’s Taverns, The Azure premise. Employed by the Noble House, von Rahm. It was at this time, Rosalia and Lazarus had their first child, a daughter named Claudia. From here on, Lazarus’ wife had severe prenatal depression and very rarely left the house. Staying home to care for their quickly aging daughter. Feeling somewhat disjointed and lost, at this time Lazarus floated around aimlessly searching for purpose. Also at this time, he contracted the Kathar plague. Several years past, and Lazarus realized how quickly his daughter was growing up and how he had neglected his wife for many months, swearing to himself he would change for the sake of his family. In this time, the married couple conceived their second child, who would later be born and named Tobias. Laz’s wife refused to have any more children, however, through a hefty persuasion, they agreed upon one more, though have not been so lucky in the years that passed. Lazarus often left perplexed at the fact his current two children were nearing 18 and 10 years of age. Desperate to have one more before the two gave up trying. Refusing the fact that time had begun to creep up on the two. Despite this, Lazarus also had to engage in the current war on numerous occasions, often apologetic for leaving his family at home, though fueled with motivation to protect them from the front lines. Lazarus and his Rosalia go their separate ways, having been growing distant from one another over time, him having been seeing Aubrey Gweir, a fellow manager at the Azure Premise with her acting as his mistress up until the split with his wife, revealing the second life he'd have been living alongside Aubrey and her son, Ivar. He would shortly go on to wed Aubrey, returning to his former Lupenzi namesake alongside this, the two going to move into a new home together alongside their sons, with Claudia his daughter originally having left to the Hitherlands with Rosalia. Lazarus and Aubrey have their first child together, Eirunn, a little girl; with Lazarus now considering himself somewhat over the hill in regards to his knightly duties, turning to look more to his third attempt at fatherhood, and just settling himself down to majorly work away on his writing career passion projects less he were to receive a call to action to don his red cape and steel blade once more... Present day: After a large period of marriage to Aubrey, time expanding and growing his family into something he is proud of and yet another child, Lazarus finally grows relaxed-- Just in time for another threat to arise, though believing himself past his time, as per usual he is ready to get up again; Determined to rise to the occasion.
