    The Honor of Two Varieties

Several weeks following the Investigation carried out by Viridian Paladin Henrique relating to the Viridian-Bloodcast feud, the final verdict came back from the Elder Council. With various testimonies presented alongside follow-up reports, the Elders eventually delivered a response:
    • The public apology of Lynmar Lomstedt was was accepted by the Elders, with a private report delivered by Sergeant-at-Arms Howland of the Black Crow further convincing the hardliners of the Council to agree with their peers. Lynmar Lomstedt's atonement is considered completed, with the Elders reminding him to think twice before opening the lids off of graves.
    • The public notice of Lazarus Lupenzi was noted by the Council, who at first was still inclined to continue the cold war with the Bloodcasts. That was, until the Grand Elder of the Bloodcasts, Richard Duurwallis, paid a visit outside of Kurtenwald Castle, where he was granted a personal audience with Primae Domenico Lampero, who was all to happy to take a walk in the springtime countryside. When the two men returned to the gate outside the Viridian Headquarters, the Primae declared that while the two Orders would never see eye to eye on most things, that both agreed that it was detrimental to the Empire to continue the petty feud. With a shaking of hands, the two Leaders of the Knightly Orders agreed to bury the hatchet, and allow Viridians and Bloodcasts to work together once again.
As news traveled around the Archipelago, reports of fighting between the two orders began to return to pre-feud levels. The only incidents were the usual Bloodcast band harassing travelers on the road, only to be dealt with by a passing Viridian squad and local guard forces.

A Higher Calling [In-Game Mini Event, Friday May 7th @ 7:30 pm EDT]

The Viridian Order was not spared this fortnight with Knightly matters, as a greater ideological matter soon found its way to Primae Lampero and the Elders. Prince Frederick Kade, the second son of Emperor Alexander I, was well respected within the Viridian Order. An accomplished warrior in his own right, the Imperial Prince's years serving the Order had seen him promoted to the highest rank outside of the Council, that of the Paladin. Indeed, many Pages looked up to the Kade Prince as a model of duty to the Empire and Imperial Spirit, and while his Princely duties saw him function closer to the Imperial Palace, was still a name spoken fondly in the mess halls of Kurtenwald and the other Viridian holdings on the Crown Isle.

It therefore came as a shock to many when word reached the Viridians that their cherished Paladin had underwent Url Symboisis in Jorrhildr in a move to strengthen the ties between the Url Throngs and the Regalian Empire. While the Knights were in consensus that Frederick's actions were one of the highest forms of honor one could give to House Kade and the Empire, it came with a sense of uncertainty as to the Prince's status within the Order. Since the very beginnings of the Viridian Order, only Ailor were allowed be Viridian Knights. While other Knightly Orders over time had seen the integration of other Races, the strong conservative leaning of the Viridians ensured that it remained a Knighty Order made by the best of Ailor, and for the best Ailor. Even with the Horned Stipulation granting Ailor rights to Url that follow its regulations, the legal code did not extend to the internal functions of Knightly Orders, which was solely the prerogative of the Primae.

Thus came the question to Domenico Lampero. In practice, Prince Frederick was a Viridian through and through, and despite his transformation into an Url, remained fully loyal to the Ehrenhof Code, and presented himself as a Viridian Paladin would. Yet Url were not Ailor, even if the law gave them equal rights, and the Viridian Order did not allow non-Ailor into their ranks. The Primae was fiercely loyal to House Kade (especially since he was appointed by Alexander Himself), though was also a traditionalist when it came to the Viridian Order's management. Removing Frederick from the Order not only would see an honorable man being removed for a selfless sacrifice to the Empire at large, a virtue drilled into every Viridian Knight during training, but also lose their only real champion within the Imperial Court, which would jeopardize the Order's recent attempts to reform itself back into the position of prestige and honor it always deserved. Forced between a rock and a hard place, the Primae ultimately decided that it would be wise to consult the latest generation of Knights in the City of Regalia on their opinions, to see if the Horned Stipulation could extend to Knightly Orders. As the Viridian Order was known as the trendsetter of Knighthood Empire-wide, the decision of the Lampero Primae would certainly see a ripple effect among the other Knightly Orders.

    Fallen Angels

Following the Knightly Inquest into Breucard Theodair's conduct by Elder Merlwyn of Carentot, the final verdict was delivered to the Round Table of the Prime Sepuclhre, which was then disseminated to the rest of the Fae Knight. While originally the verdict was to be decided on by the Grandmaster and Elders, events at the Ten Thousand Carin Sepulchre saw Merlwyn render a verdict on the spot, which was excommunication from the Wards of Fae Order, and banishment from all areas held by the Knights. This decision was backed up by the Grandmaster, who found Breucard's final moments with the Fae Knights to have been a heavy betrayal, calling the man disingenuous to the nearly two decades of training and raising within the Order. To emphasize the severity of leaving the order on such severed terms, Breucard would be executed by the Fae Knights if he ever stepped foot inside any other Fae Knight holdings, or the entirety of the Duchy of Brithdyr, which was the Grandmaster's personal fief. While in practice this meant very little to ex-Knights, as most Fae Sepulchres were either off the beaten path across the Empire or back in Kintyr, the punishment set a precedence for future offenders who considered abandoning their holy calling.

    Spent Fortunes

The second Knightly Inquest verdict was aimed at Florence Amaya, now Eugenio de Fuerzainter following the man's distancing from his family. Despite the recent name change, Knightly Inquests did not go away, and so the results taken by Elder Alfonso Rodríguez made their way to the Castillo de Monzon for review. With three charges levied against Eugenio, the Elder Council delivered three verdicts:
    1. For the breach of attacking someone from behind, the Elder Council returned a guilty verdict. After reading the report, the Elders agreed that the movement of Eugenion's sword to the back of Alban Koning was not "a threat to deliver a message for the Monzon Order," as the average person would have viewed it as an attack out of provocation. Regardless of the bluntness of the blade or the lack of contact on a target, the strike was an attack from behind, and therefore a breach of Monzon Honor.
    2. For the breach of attacking an unarmed or defenseless individual, the Elder Council returned a guilty verdict. Although the Monzon Order permits the use of magic into their ranks, the fact that Alban did not have his weapon summoned fit the definition of "unarmed" in the eyes of the Elders. As such, the strike from behind was not only a breach of a single code point, but a second.
    3. For the breach of lying of deceiving others, the Elder Council delivered a guilty verdict, but only on a technicality. The Elders concluded that Eugenio made his claims wholly in ignorance, which while this meant that his statement might have been justifiable to his mind, were ultimately flawed when the facts of the case were presented.

    • While there were accusations thrown about holding an unarmed nobleman under water, the Elder Council chose not to render a verdict on that possible code violation. They found the revelation of such charges unrelated to the Chancellor's letter to be a show of the corruption by some within the capital, and that those who keep hold of damning information for a rainy day are no worse than the criminals that many liken the Monzon Knights to. As such, the accusation was thrown out, with the Elders reminding individuals that they can report code violations to the Chancellor, and go through proper channels rather than an Elder who was on official business.
With the Elder Council delivering three guilty verdicts, most would have expected an immediate expulsion for Eugenio de Fuerzainter. However, following a few passing words from Paladin Juan, who had recently been sent to speak to the accused Knight earlier that week, the Council moved forwards with an alternative punishment. Rather than expulsion, Eugenio de Fuerzainter was placed on suspension from the Monzon Order "until such a time where it is apparent that the Golden Chalice has poured out its fortune once again." (ie, 1 month of significant progression finances is sent to the Monzon Order by Eugenio). The stipulations of this suspension are as follows:
    • Regalian Knight Law 1 only applies so long as Eugenio is contracted to another.
    • Regalian Knight Law 2 only applied so long as Eugenio is contracted to another.
    • Regalian Knight Law 3 is fully suspended.
    • Eugenio is barred entry to the Castillo de Monzon in San Selin, save for the single Coin given by Paladin Juan.
    • Eugenio is barred from referring to himself as a Knight in any capacity. While he is still a member of the Order, he is not allowed to use his ranks or privileges.
With the punishment issued, Eugenio de Fuerzainter was free to work on collecting the finances to pay for his re-entrance as a Man-at-Arms. While the suspension did provide some difficulties in carrying out his duties to the Monzon Code, it was still possible to recover from the mistakes made. Florence Amaya was a dead man, and now Eugenio de Fuerzainter had been reborn to start over.

    Black Ravens and Black Marks
Initially sent as words of cautions to a Knight who was straying from his Code, the Darkwald Council's letter to Fulgore Fanger came with an unexpected outcome. Upon reading Fulgore's public letter indicating his resignation from the Order, the Council was quick to reply with their own response. While initially granting one of their own the benefit of the doubt and a chance to correct himself, the Elders were disgusted by not only the refusal to comply to the Council's wishes, but also to continue serving the Noble House Cadieux, which was seen as the antithesis of the Darkwald Order in their eyes. While Fulgore did remark that he would accept an invitation to rejoin the Order if the Elders offered it, the Council would have none of it. Declaring him an oathbreaker, a deserter, and disingenuous to the years spent training and raising the man from a small Pageboy, the Darkwald Order officially denounced Fulgore Fanger, barring him from ever joining the Darkwalds again, and banishing him from Tirgunn and Maraisburke, the provinces which were under direct control of the House Tyrmont, and by extending the Darkwald Elder council. The Darkwald reiterated to those in the capital that most were wholly ignorant of the threat the supernatural had on the Empire, and permitting such tolerance to otherworldly powers was weakening the State in a time when strength was essential. No further actions were taken by the Elders, leaving the Darkwald Knights in Regalia to their own devices.

    The Rakkai Runaway
Elsewhere in the Regalian Archipelago, other developments began to unfold. In Hellatia, a Diviner Unionist Leader had managed to flee from the Parthas Order, who had recently captured the heretical priest to deliver to the Holy Herebrand Order, which was currently crusading against the Sect in Girobalda's Forriesta Natal. While evading capture from the Parthas Bounty Hunters, the Diviner managed to sneak a message out to the capital, claiming to have valuable information the Parthas Knights didn't want revealed, and that he would be arriving in Alvania within a fortnight. With the Bounty Hunters in hot pursuit, it would be anyone's guess as to who would help, or hinder, the heretical priest.

    Stampedes in Sleepy Villages
In the backwater fiefdoms of Morzaria, unease began to cling to the locals as news of an independent Szabadok band razing local farms began to circulate. While the actions of these marauders had not escalated to the point where local Dukes felt the need to get involved, some of the local baronets called out for those who could chase the Horse Raiders back to their camps in the Baldmark.

    Call of the North
A Dwarven High Hunter operating out of Trollstigelberge has sent out a call to adventurous Knights to join him on a hunt for a pack of strange beast-men that were seen in the region. No other information was given with the request, beyond noting that the North of Drixagh was notoriously chilly, and that well-traveled individuals would be an asset in their hunt.
