    ◆◆◆
    forest.gif
    ◆◆◆

Born June 13th, 279 AC, Kasamir Arcleht was the second son of Kristof and Triss Arcleht. His family was not especially wealthy, but they did well enough for themselves due to his father's work as a Scribe for not only the state, but also other establishments who required his services. Being the second son, he was already without any hope of an inheritance, and his father was very clear to him about that. He was expected to figure out for himself what he wanted to do with his life.

At the age of 4, Kasamir's younger brother, Lester, was born, but his mother died in the process. His memories of his mother were faint, but they were the only source of any kind of familial warmth that he knew as a child. From then onward, the household of men, guided by Kristof, knew only work, studies, and the occasional day to themselves so they could relax and be boys. For a time, Lester was cared for by a midwife until he was old enough to be without. From that point, it was Kasamir's responsibility to care for him.

He did so, becoming close to the boy as he grew older. Whenever Kristoffer would be studying with their father, Kasamir and Lester would be off wandering and playing. They bonded over their lot in the household, for if Kasamir was considered a superfluous son by his father, Lester was barely more than an afterthought.

At the age of 10, Kasamir was instructed to begin seeking a trade to begin apprenticing within. Because of his fascination with the dense and dark woods that was near their home, Kasamir decided he wanted to become a Hunter. It was a respectable-enough trade, and his father had no objections so long as he did nothing to embarrass their family.

Beginning to apprentice under a local hunter by the name of Martin, Kasamir began to learn the ways of navigating the woodland, as well as the fundamentals of tracking and trapping. He took to it rather well, finding that he felt comfortable within the wild of the forest. He continued this learning for three years, trying his best to maintain his relationship with Lester all the while.

By the time he was 13, he was well versed in the various paths of the woods, experienced in navigating the wild, and had was close to being a journeyman in the art of tracking and trapping. For some time, Lester had been asking him to take him exploring into the woods, but Kasamir had always said no due to the possible dangers. However, after returning from a hunting trip, Kasamir had felt guilty for how distant he'd become toward Lester due to his apprenticeship and the demands it had on his time.

During his personal day, he decided to bring Lester along on one of the paths he was familiar with. He would take the chance to rekindle their brotherhood and show the young lad what he'd been doing with his time. During their excursion, though, they fell into the path of a landslide which immediately buried Lester in earth and rock.

Kasamir was only partially buried and was able to free himself. He began to try and unearth his brother, but was weak and could not work fast enough. He ran off seeking help, screaming up and down the nearby path. In a stroke of fortune, he drew the attention of a man nearby who was draped in a crimson cloak: a Bloodcast Knight. The man helped Kasamir dig through the dirt and rock until they located Lester. Alas, they had no chance. The boy had suffocated. Despite the Knight's attempts to resuscitate him, Lester had died.

Grief-stricken, Kasamir went into shock. The Knight being the only one around, he offered his sympathies, but collected Lester's body and urged him to return back to town with him. Obeying, Kasamir accompanied the man. Along the way it was revealed to him that the Knight was asked to search for him by Kasamir's teacher after he couldn't find him.

When they arrived, there was no warm reception waiting for them. Lester's body was delivered to his father as the Knight explained what he saw. Kristof, with ice in his voice, demanded Kasamir's explanation. He had none. Were he like many other men, Kristof would have flown into a rage. Instead, his anger was all channeled into the next words he said to Kasamir: "Your mistake has cost me not just one son, but two."

The Bloodcast Knight offered his condolences and made to depart. As he did, he told Kasamir "I will linger here for the next few days. If you come to decide you want the chance to make this right, come find me."

By tomorrow afternoon, Kasamir would seek out the Knight. When he found him, the Knight told him of his School, and the ideals they stood for: to protect and serve the weak, and to good in the world by their own reckoning. The Knight suggested, perhaps, that if Kasamir wanted to absolve himself of his guilt, then perhaps by seeking to walk the path of Bloodcast he would find the opportunity to do so. Kasamir spent the next few days deliberating over the idea before he followed the Knight's suggestion.

When he revealed his plans to join the School to his father, Kristof was apathetic. He offered his half-hearted approval, stating that perhaps it was the best chance for him to salvage his life. In truth, Kasamir believed that his father just wanted the excuse to send him away. In any case, Kasamir tied what loose ends he had, packed his belongings, and departed from his home to accompany the Bloodcast Knight. His end goal: to redeem himself for his brother's death by dedicating his life to the protection of others.

He traveled with the Knight, whose name he learned was Dietrich, as they made their way back to Castle Blücherwald. During this time, Dietrich observed Kasamir closely. He made him catch their food when they camped in the wild. He tested his sword-arm, his strength, and his endurance frequently. However, one lesson that Dietrich taught Kasamir that especially stuck with him was the power of verse and song.

During their many nights out in the wild, and sometimes at an inn, Dietrich would play on a lute and sing many stories to Kasamir. The young lad, who'd hitherto only known stories told through the flat world of a book page, was fascinated by the art. Dietrich told Kasamir about the many deeds he had done throughout the world, and the things he had seen, and how he'd preserved the stories he'd witnessed in song. He taught Kasamir that while it is all well and good to record history through diligent records and bookkeeping, it is the art of song and verse that preserves the history of the people and their lives. History books rarely delve into the intimate details of the human experience, and it is through verse that such things are preserved and told. Thus, he told Kasamir, that if he truly wished to be a Bloodcast Knight, he ought to learn the art, so that he might preserve the intimate stories of those he helped, which would otherwise undoubtedly be lost to time. Kasamir agreed and began to take music lessons from Dietrich.

By the time the two arrived at the Castle, Dietrich was confident that Kasamir had potential, and so submitted him to begin training as a Schilder. Kasamir was accepted, and his time at Blücherwald began. Though he would maintain a correspondence with Dietrich through letters, it would be the last that he saw of the Knight.

Coming not only from a background of the Leutz-Vixe, where stoicism was expected, but also still recovering from the trauma of Lester's death, Kasamir didn't take well to living among his peers at first. He had difficulty socializing and spent most of his time studying and training, wanting to become as strong as he could. It was only in the later years of his time at the School that he began to come out of his shell and grow used to the more familiar way that his fellow students treated each other. His burgeoning musical talent helped earn the admiration of his friends, leading them through many a rendition of some bawdy drinking song or some such.

By the time he got out of the School, he had become far more sociable, although he still has difficulty reading social situations sometimes. He donned the crimson cloak and set out into the world, spending his time living frugally. He only kept as much coin for himself as he needed to go on, donating the rest to the needy, and ate humble meals. The first thing he saved up for in any capacity was a lute of his own, which he keeps safely in a sturdy leather case.

He took to taking on jobs as a guard or escort for travelers in order to make money to sustain himself. Often, he would busk, and use what earnings he made then to sustain himself so that he needn't charge for his services to travelers. Otherwise, he's roughed up the odd brigand and thief and recovered stolen goods, but has not been involved in any major conflicts thus far. He's lived happily enough just being able to help others, but a part of him yearns to make a greater difference in the world.

    Arc 1

    - Kasamir arrived in Regalia to meet his beloved, Alzena, after a long time of being apart. -
    ...
    - Alzena revealed to him that she had become Sanguine, and wanted him to join her. He resisted, saying he needed time to be sure that she was still herself. -
    ...
    - Kasamir spent time around the Sanguine of Alzena's coven, learning bits and pieces of their ways, even beginning to trust them, though his greater goal was to somehow get Alzena cured. Alzena eventually convinced him to allow her to blood collar him, both so the Coven would trust him more and to 'protect' him from being infected by either Sanguine or Werebeast. -
    ...
    - Kasamir grew dangerously comfortable in the sewers and around the criminals and aberrants that dwelt there. He met a werebeast who offered to help him escape from the Sanguine's influence and turn him. He refused, but upon Alzena's arrival on the scene, a fight broke out. During the chaos, Kasamir was knocked out and kidnapped by the werebeasts. -
    ...
    - The werebeasts that held him knew not who he was nor the plan that the werebeast who Kasamir met had for him. Thus, they were confused and left without a plan for him. After barely ten minutes of capture, Kasamir was knocked out once more and dumped in the middle of the city. Suffering from severe head trauma, he stumbled around the city until he found Alzena locked in combat with the guards. -
    ...
    - Alzena and Kasamir were both captured, with Alzena being cured and Kasamir being tested for werebeastism after Alzena was made to remove his collar. -
    ...
    - Alzena later voluntarily reinfected herself, but only to find that the Coven she had risen within the ranks of had disappeared, breaking apart and leaving her behind. Kasamir took this opportunity to try and convince her to get herself cured and leave all the Sanguinism business behind, but this grew into a venomous argument that had Kasamir leave her. -
    ...
    - In a last-ditch effort, Kasamir lured Alzena out into the Regalian streets with a letter stating he was sorry and wished to become Sanguine. Once Alzena was lured out, he met her with his blade, fighting her in her transformed Von Kerle form until he managed to knock her out. Binding her, he carried her to Greygate and had her cured. -
    ...
    - With Alzena cured and the business of Sanguine involvement behind them, Kasamir looked toward the future, making plans to figure out how he could help in the fight against the Sanguine threat.

    Arc 2

    - With his newfound free-time, Kasamir began to take up his music-playing once more, seeking to establish himself as a bard in Regalia in order to have an additional source of income alongside odd-jobs and bounties. -
    ...
    - He met a certain musician by the name of Lucallian, who invited him to The Stage: a troupe of musicians, dancers, and other kinds of entertainers. He was hesitant, but accepted the invitation.
    ...
    - Kasamir signed on to compete in the Regalian Music Contest, hosted by House Kreiburg at the Wunderbar. He didn't seek to win, precisely, but to at least get his name out there. To that end, he played a daring piece titled "No Good Men", which ended up tying him for the win with his fellow musician, Lucallian. This earned him favor with the Kreiburgs. -
    ...
    - Kasamir met a certain woman by the name of Alethia during a game of Truth or Dare at the Nook. Unbeknownst to him, she was a Sanguine, and drugged him through a drink she had gotten him. Alas, it was her blood he had drunk and become immediately addicted to. -
    ...
    - Suffering the severe effects of withdrawal, Kasamir spent an absurd amount of money the next night trying every drink in the Nook in a vain effort to figure out what the 'amazing drink' he'd had was. An interesting man by the name of Elred was met, then, and he suggested that Kasamir had been drugged by someone after being explained the situation. -
    ...
    - Kasamir sought out Alethia for answers, eventually finding her and demanding an explanation. Alethia lied to him, telling him that she'd tested an alchemical substance that was supposed to make drinks taste better, but that it 'clearly had worked too well'. She offered to give him some more in exchange for allowing her to feed on him. The revelation that she was a Sanguine sparked an immediate wariness and hatred in Kasamir, but the lure of the 'alchemical substance' was too great, and he begrudgingly obliged. -
    ...
    - Kasamir continued to play at both the Wunderbar and the Nook, continuing to provide Alethia with 'food' in exchange for the substance. She made efforts to convince him that not all Sanguine were bad, and one day he attempted to give her the chance by spending a friendly evening in her company. However, a simple walk in the park turned into a confusing mess of an evening, with several aberrants coming out of the woodwork for a number of reasons. With an evening spent being sized-up, condescended to, and mocked by several Sanguine, Kasamir's confidence in Alethia's claims shrunk significantly. -
    ...
    - One evening, after Kasamir played at the Nook, he came across the Guardsmen's Checkpoint on fire, having been set ablaze by a Sanguine. After assisting in putting it out, the Sanguine was discovered and he assisted the Guardsmen and a fellow Bloodcast, Lee Ming-Qie, in giving chase. As the Sanguine, already knocked about by the Guardsmen, disappeared into the sewers, Kasamir and Lee gave chase. -
    ...
    - After finding him in the sewers, Kasamir and Lee faced the Sanguine arsonist, who transformed into a Wyvernoid form. In the fight, Kasamir sustained a vicious raking of claws across the left side of his head, tearing off a part of his ear and leaving behind what would eventually heal into a set of unpleasant scars. Despite he and Lee's wounds, they were able to take down the Sanguine and begin hauling him back to the Guards. However, while they were in the city, two otherworldly creatures attacked them and rescued the Sanguine. There was nothing they could do to stop them, and so Lee and Kasamir had to return to the Guards with little more than what they confiscated from the Sanguine. They both were seen to at the Clinic and Kasamir stayed the night there, nursing his wounds and his pride. -

Just needs another quick re-review when you have the time. Adjusted his points again, which resulted in an updated Body Stat, and updated his Life Story. Changes highlighted in Green.

Needs re-reviewed, when you have the time. Reflavored him to lean more into a warrior-bard type character. Added in a passage in his backstory to explain where he acquired the musical skills. Also shifted his Proficiencies around for it. All edits highlighted in Green.
