This is mostly because as a child, due to being “the blind one” out of all of her siblings, she was allowed to get away with, really, whatever she wanted. This lead to her having a rather low respect for being held back from things, with a fierce attitude that leads to her being defensive of herself and her friends... Verbally. [ Character Personality | Defender ] While she isn’t much of a physical fighter, Justiana is incredibly protective of her friends and family due to the fact that they are really all she has. When someone of her group is being harassed, she generally is the first to speak up- despite the fact that she can’t really help much if things get physical. She isn’t much for stepping out of her comfort-zone despite this and is also incredibly easy to insult or ‘break’ due to being rather sensitive, emotionally. [ Character Religion | Etosian Unionist | 1/10 ] Though Justiana grew up in a household full of worshipping Etosians, she never really grew as faithful as they did. During her childhood, she often would go to church with her family, but never really grew as faithful to the Spirit as they did. Additionally, with the rather restrictive lifestyle that she was held to as a blind Etosian woman, Justiana took out her anger on worship itself and has almost entirely thrown it out the window since leaving her family. Though their house wasn’t quite big, that doesn’t mean their family already wasn’t. That day, the Loverdos household welcomed their fourth child- landing Justiana with two older sisters and an eldest brother. As if would seem, almost in sick humor, despite the fact that her parents had named her after Emperor Justinian the Second, young Justiana would often become rather ill much like the first Justinian Emperor. By the age of eighteen months, her parents also fully realized that their daughter was entirely unable to see. Despite so, as life would have it, Justiana’s mother did not stop in the face of hardship. She continued to push her daughter to her best by the time she was five and … mostly able to find her way around her house on her own. Galena set her daughter up on a rocking chair besides her and trying her best to show her how to handle a sewing needle. Years drifted slowly by for the young, blind child and she often just followed her father about on his trips, the man a merchant. On these trips, she ran ways with men and women from far off nations and lands, bringing about a love of language to Justiana’s life. While she couldn’t read nor write, she could speak and listen. Several more years continued past and another child was born in her life, a younger brother named Cedrios, after one of the Regalian princes of the time. (Sadly, though, this name would bring some concerns for her younger brother once said prince was crowned an Emperor and revealed as a homosexual. Such is the homophobic ways of Etosil.) At reaching the age of sixteen, Justiana suddenly found herself filled with rage with life- unable to bear with being so locked up at home. In this bout of anger, she locked herself into her and her sisters’ room, refusing to let anyone into it until her father decided to hear her out. Once such was agreed on, Justiana told her father she was growing emotionally tired of her their four walls. She couldn’t stand the day in and day out any longer. Despite this being a rather difficult thing to reveal on Justiana’s part, and a rather hard thing for her parents to accept, they decided to agree with what she said- and sent her off to find somewhere new. Of course, they couldn’t just give her money and leave- their daughter was blind. Where was she to go? Instead, Thekios located someone to take his daughter in as a ward of sorts- trusting a woman-friend to do such. The woman, whose name was Saratirre Eveno, was Breizh woman who traveled about the Regalian Archipelago as a merchant- and had a distinct love for languages much like Justiana. As such, for the rest of Justiana’s childhood and into her early twenties, she followed after Saratirre as an assistant, and Saratirre in turn kept her safe like her own child. Nevertheless, their time together was only for about seven years until Saratirre felt the wear of age coming along- as she already was rather elderly. In 305 AC, just after Justiana reached the age of twenty-four, her good friend told her that she had to return home. By then, following Breizh traditions, Saratirre would be renamed to Sarawynne, and she could no longer take traveling around the lands. In order to be sure her … nearly-a-daughter child did not get hurt, Sarawynne took Justiana to Regalia. She gifted her with money, a small home, and a decorated walking staff so she didn’t have to rely on strangers to guide her. And then… Sarawynne left. And so, about three years have passed since Justiana came to Regalia on her own. Despite her blindness and inherent fear of the unknown, she continues onwards… One just has to hope that no time soon will someone manipulate her for her disabilities- and perhaps she will finally form closer friendships? ═══════════════|||═══════════════
