Basic Information Overview Jurian [[ Your-ē-an ]] “ Jur “ Tomás Aldinger [[ All-ding-er ]] , born on the 21st of June, 272 AC, otherwise known as the summer solstice, is a thirty-one year old male Regalian-born ailor with some Claith running through his veins. The name Jurian derives from the Aldinger family tradition of naming the second child of every third generation Jurian. Before Jurian was born, Tielo and Saraid were expecting a baby, hopeful it would be a male. The baby would have been named Tomás, however, the baby before it could join the world, causing a great deal of pain for the Aldinger family. Jurian, along with his mother and father, lived in a medium size house in Rogdland, Draxiagher. Family Tielo Aldinger - Father, Alive; Living in Rogdland Saraid Aldinger née Cèampach - Mother, Deceased; Suffered from breast cancer Unnamed Stillborn Baby - Unknown, Died; Stillborn. Living Quarters Jurian, to say the least, doesn’t necessarily have a permanent residence, however, he has acquired a small home in Regalia; a house filled with stacks upon stacks upon stacks of books, scrolls, and any other tool that a scholar may have with him. When Jurian is not in Regalia he travels to his mother's homeland of Ériu-Innis. Life Goal A simple question for any scholar like himself. Jurian seeks knowledge, specifically the history of Aloria, understanding and comprehending the reason to magic and why it exists in this world. However, unlike other scholars, Jurian seeks knowledge that may seem evil, heresy, or the corruption of his very soul; Vampirism, the vial plague that has claimed the lives of many, turning them into foul, corrupt creatures of the night; their secrets and how they came to be hidden from the world, a purpose Jurian seeks to uncover. However, at the moment, Jurian currently works at the Regalian Court of Scholars. Visual Information Body Description Jurian, like his father and forefathers, stands high in the air at the proud height of 6’4, weighing roughly around 178 lbs. Jurian has rather large arms being roughly around twenty-six or twenty-seven inches long. Like his arms and enormous height, Jurian has fairly large hands, from his wrist to the tip of his middle finger it is roughly estimated to be 7 1/2 inches in total. Unlike his right hand, which is 7 1/2 inches in total, his left hand is slightly larger at a total of 7 3/4 inches. Like his father, Jurian has a rather slender body, however, well built. While Jurian does not train in any form of combat and whatnot, he does however exercise quite a bit, making his body decently slender but somewhat strong in his legs and abdomens. Skin Description Due to him living in a cold mountain environment for most of his life and inheriting many attributes from his father, Jurian has considerably deep pale skin, although, he does seem to be less pale than his father due to him inheriting somewhat of a light colored skin from his mother, Saraid. Inherited from his father, Jurian has somewhat of a considerably large amount of body hair around his chest, arms, and abdomen area, but due to his natural hair color, it seems to be considerably visible due to his dark hair color. Jurian also have somewhat of a large and scruffy beard upon his face. Head Description Facial Features With his many similarities to his father, Jurian has inherited a defined jawline, showing it to be very angular in nature so that his face actually appears to be squared. He has fairly eminent and considerably high cheekbones as well as a strong petite-pointed nose , giving him his strong facial features he is known for to this day. Through he resembles closely to his father, Jurian did inherited Y shaped chin, otherwise known as a cleft chin, from his mother Hair and Eye Color Jurian, like his mother, has very bright green eyes, almost resembling an emerald color. While he inherited his emerald-green eyes from his mother, his eye-shape is similar to that of his father, his eyes being that of a almond shape and quite large. Jurian has darkened brown thick eyebrows that seem straight then extend upward peak of his arch. He has somewhat of a mixture between jet black hair and his mother’s dark brown hair. Jurian has decently cut hair and somewhat of a large, flowing mohawk that leans to the left side of his face. Clothing and Accessories Clothing Due to his work as a Scholar, Jurian has been able to afford and wear High-class Regalian robes. Jurian’s robes are covered with Regalian purple and laced with yellow stitching, almost like a golden color. Unlike usual robes, the upper part of his robes has somewhat of a v-neck shaped area that is shown to be covered with body hair. Behavior Information Personality Traits Sentimental Sentimentality is something Jurian has always valued, and the value of something for him or even a person is depended on their Sentimental towards him and the actions they have done that actually tend to meet someone. Jurian tends to favour a person more if they have done something for him that means the world to him. Addictive He has always had somewhat of an addictive personality, even when he was young he would always steal some small scraps of his father’s tobacco or any other drugs that he could get a similar feeling from, although in his later years this personality has seen to be faded, however, after moving to Regalia. Jurian has taken up his addictive interests once again. Observant Even when he was young child, and attempting to upkeep his studies and pride of the Aldinger family, Jurian always been that person whom can detect or find the littlest of clues even if they seem harder for someone else. Along with his observant personality, Jurian has shown to show that he tends to enjoy solving puzzles or gaining knowledge about secrets. Arrogant Jurian doesn’t necessarily believe he is right, but rather knows he is right. even if he knows he is wrong as he always wants the upper hand when it comes to interacting with people or even the just simply talking to him. Impatient. Jurian absolutely hates to wait. To him, the idea of being patient is ridiculous and has no room in his mind. Even when he was younger and forced into studies at such a young age, Jurian hated having to stay quiet and simply stand after completing one of his lessons, Jurian believing the time waiting would never end and slowly dieing on the inside. Prideful Jurian, like most of the past forefathers and mothers of the Aldinger, takes great pride in himself, and always seeks to up keep the knowledgeable stature he holds. His father, Tielo Aldinger, was in many ways an older version of Jurian, and much like Jurian, Tielo was very prideful of the Aldinger family and even went to the lengths of being Jurian whenever he believed the pride of the Aldinger family was disowned. Independent Although as a child, Jurian wasn’t independent due to him being scared of his father and what he might do to him if he disobeyed, and only later gained an Independent personality once he finished his studies and seeked more in life instead of simply upkeeping the Aldinger family motto; Knowledge is power, without we would be lost to the likes of the lesser. Now days Jurian is takes pride in his independent ways and not caring for others purposes for him. Ambitious Jurian has always been one of ambitious, always seeking to “ defeat his enemies “ in order for him to move up in the world; gaining a foothold against others and always seeking to complete his goals. Jurian ambitious seeks to complete his goals, a drug if you will, for he would feel empty if he were to fail, henceforth he is determined to do anything to find the answers he needs. Likes Knowledge Knowledge is everything to Jurian and like his forefathers, Knowledge is power and without it we would be nothing. At a young age Jurian was forced into private studies from a mentor that his father hired for him. In the beginning, Jurian hated learning, absolutely despised it, however, as he became older he took to his father’s words and became obsessed with knowledge and the learning of new information. Vampirism An awkward subject for Jurian indeed. Jurian finds the subject of Vampirism to be a rather interesting and mysterious subject. To most, the study of Vampirism and contact with the plagued individuals is believed to be an act of heresy and like most, Jurian does in fact despite the plagued creatures for their horrendous and vial acts, however, he does find the mysterious origins and history of these creatures to be quite intuitive. Magic Like Vampirism, Magic is a tricky subject and not heavily respected. However, Jurian, for some unknown reason, finds the history and creation of magic to be a rather interesting study. Though he does not use magic, and probably will never, Jurian does ask many questions concerning the ancient art, questions like “ Where did all this power in the world come from? “. Like every question there’s always a beginning to them, and Jurian intends to find the answers to his. Substances Even at a young age, Jurian would always enjoy the occasional intake of Opium or his father’s tobacco. As he grew, his substance addiction become more and more severe, until the point that Jurian would hide mass amounts of stolen alcohol or Opium i his quarters and secretly compete to these temptations each night. Writing Like every Scholar, Jurian records all of his findings in a journal of some sort and has always enjoyed the unique sensation when he is able to pick up that certain quill and simply write to his heart’s content. When he was in his private studies as a child, Jurian struggled with writing, but the more Jurian has suffered his father’s wrath, the more Jurian forced himself into his studies and pushed his skills to the maximum. Dislikes Warmth Jurian grew up around the cold windy region of Rogdland, Draxiagher, and so he has never been fond of the heat. Since his body is used to the coldness of Rogdland, Jurian’s body is more vulnerable to the heat and his skin is easier for him to burn. D’Ithanie Citizens For as long as he can remember Jurian has always showed great hatred for the D’Ithanie Culture and it’s citizens. He can not stand the speaking of the D’Ithanie people and believes it to be rather annoying and complicated. Family After losing his mother, Jurian fell apart his father and hated him for the constant pain he caused Jurian. After leaving home, Jurian found no pleasure in thinking about family and despises even the simplest sight of any form of Family love. Abilities and Disabilities Strengths Scholar Mind As a Scholar, Jurian has a great mind of superior intelligence that is filled with mass amounts of knowledge that might seem strange or even incomprehensible to a person of weak minded. Inferiority means nothing to this arrogant Scholar as he shows a appreciably level towards people of superior class and will be able to amaze them with his superior mind. Charisma Adding to his great intellect, Jurian is easily able to use his skills of persuasion in order to take to the advantages he sees, and using them to bring forth succession in his goals. Quick Learner Having spent the majority of his childhood in intense private studies and his great fear for his father’s anger, Jurian would always push himself to be the best and able to quickly overcome any academic lesson he may find. Using this to his advantage, Jurian was able to become a Scholar and believes that one day that this will help him complete his goals. Weaknesses Substance Abuse Even as a child, Jurian has suffered from severe addiction problems and have caused him some major health problems throughout the majority of his adult life. After leaving home, Jurian become more into the more addictions and at one point almost lead to his death, thankfully nursed back to health by a woman who found him laying somewhere in Vultaro. Even now he still suffers from even the slightest of temptations and will possibly lead to his downfall if he ever fills himself with these dangerous substances. Arrogance Jurian is heavily arrogant to what he preaches and the abilities he demonstrates, showing arrogant tendencies that will leave to his downfall Sluggish Jurian has always been inert to combat, barely able to successfully land a hit. The closest thing Jurian has to winning a fight is with the use of his manipulation, but even that has little effect in a large fight, so Jurian has absolutely no way to defend himself. Temperamental As a result for having a abusive father and leaving home in his early teenage years, Jurian suffers from an unusually large temper and at times will blow a gasket if he is proven incorrect, does not get his way, or even something simple like losing something of sentimental value. Weapons of Choice Jurian has no combat style. He typically tries to avoid fights and will always try to flee or manipulate his way out of the situation. Life Story and Relations Relationships Roland Blakely - “Ally” [[ @MrHappyTinkles ]] - Despite the first time these two interacted, Jurian and Roland ended up become allies in the “Game of the Reich”. However, Jurian still has little trust or loyalty to the man, instead showing a moral obligation; a sense of duty. Julian Kade - Acquaintance [[ @pwnzownz ]] *Cough* Secretly A Doppelgänger *Cough* - However, only meeting the man briefly at the Watson Café, Jurian does find the man to be rather interesting. The first interact they had within the walls of the Café was due to Julian wanting to hear one of those “famous” Alt-Regalish Jokes. At the time, Jurian is not aware of Julian’s current stature as a Earl and of the grand Noble House of Kade. Dianne Coen - Acquaintance / Annoying woman [[ @darkarely ]] - Dianne being the sister of a local known blacksmith known as William Coen, works as a tender to his brother in their family’s blacksmith. Jurian first met Dianne in the Regalian tavern, finding her somewhat annoying and not a real lady after finding out she works in her brother’s forge. Some time later, Jurian was assaulted by Dianne in the streets of Regalia. After calling her out on it, Jurian encountered a friend of Dianne, a countess and backed down from Dianne as soon as he realised Dianne’s connections in Regalia. However, he still enjoys to annoy and bother Dianne every time they encounter each other. Life Story Jurian Tomás Aldinger, born to the wealthy Regalian Scholar, Tielo Aldinger and his wife, Saraid Aldinger in a large manor located in Rogdland of the grand Regalian Duchy, Draxiagher. Jurian was quite a large baby, heavily weighing more than the average baby. Like his mother, Jurian was born with bright green eyes, almost like a Shining Emerald. Jurian was born with cold jet black hair, hair that seemed like coal in the summer’s bright light. Jurian was quick with learning how to talk and doing other various simple tasks that a baby such as himself would normally do. Jurian was a happy baby raised by two cultures, one being Regalish and the other being Claith, great the people of the island Ériu-Innis. Living two separate cultures was hard for him, but he quickly learned to understand them and would begin to speak both languages while at him and enjoyed both with great ambition. However, the Aldinger’s happiness would soon wither. Saraid, Jurian’s mother become gravely ill after the passing of Jurian’s 5th year. Jurian and his father fell into sadness and despair as Saraid lay trapped in the quiet and loneliness of her bed. Tielo brought many doctors to Saraid, however, he found only more sadness and despair. Finally, after suffering for so long, Saraid died a few weeks after Jurian’s 7th year, leaving Tielo in a deep depression and sucking him into his work. Jurian became lost and his life destroyed after losing his mother, and eventually fell apart from his father as well. After his mother’s passing, Jurian continued on living but was put into studies by his lost father who obvious suffered worse than Jurian did from the loss of his love. Jurian hated his studies but still progressed through them in fear of his father’s new found rage. However, Jurian become fond of his teacher, Rundri a dwarf that has been teaching Jurian since his mother’s passing, and finally felt like he had a family again, even if it may be small. With the help of Rundri, Jurian soon became fluent in Alt-Regalish and continued to became a intelligent man on his way to become the scholar his father wishes him to be, unfortunately the life of Jurian would soon take a turn for the worse. It was around the time of winter and Jurian had now been thirteen for some time now. One cold winter Night Tielo came home pissed drunk and enraged at the world. Scared of his father, Jurian bolted towards Rundri’s quarters and proceeded to cry quietly. The door flung open and a drunk, enraged Tielo ran towards Jurian, intending on beating him once more. Rundril reacted first, pushing Jurian out of the way so he could give him time to run. Jurian looked back once more before running to grab a few handy items and some coin. Jurian fled from Tielo as he continued running, not thinking where to go at the time. He was later able to find refuge and stowaway on a ship that would leave within the hour. After traveling from ship to ship for sometime, having no clue to where he may be headed, Jurian docked somewhere in the Earldom of Vultaro. Jurian fled from the ship and made refuge in a nearby home that had been abandoned. The house was filled with dust and broken objects covering the floor, but was still home to Jurian. Lacking money to pay for his starving body, Jurian entertained tavern folk with his great intellect and grand stories that Rundri would tell to him during his studies. He did this for some time, living in the abandoned house and earning his pay at the local tavern. Jurian, being finally of age, knew what he would do with his life, and so after saving up enough money he planned to head to Regalia in order to start his life, possibly working as a Scholar. One night as he began his walk home he heard a woman screaming and swift movement. In fear, Jurian swiftly hid himself in the shadows of the night. Jurian’s eyes filled with horror for the terrible event he saw; a vile creature of the night sank its teeth into a woman, draining it of her blood and leaving her to wither away. Jurian hid himself farther into the shadows, fearful of the creature. Jurian could see light shining near his eyes and yelling around him. He opened his eyes, only to find soldiers that had slain the creature of the night. Jurian made haste, quickly bolting back to his house. He lay sulking in the shadows of his home, his mind trying to comprehend the events that were unfolded. He felt afraid, but curious. He wondered about the creature and it’s origin, still afraid, but very curious. The next day he made haste towards the docks because today was the day, the day he would travel to Regalia. He traveled the seas, only finally arriving in the Imperial City sometime later. The sights and sounds of Regalia seemed different to him, the wondrous sounds and sights filling his mind with new ideas and knowledge. He found himself lost within the confined walls of the city, but soon quickly made haste a area he would live for sometime. Jurian tried to adapt to the socialness of the city, but none the less he eventually gave in, the society finally taking form in his life. Soon after he would begin studying , and sharing his knowledge with his fellow men alike. And so, Jurian began his life as a Scholar in the Imperial City.
First off, thank you for taking the time to write up this character introduction. Jurian seems to be a very well thought out character and has been very pleasing to read. However, there are two things I would like to see addressed before I can accept this character. Basic Information In your Living Quarters tab you seem to finish the paragraph with an incomplete sentence. Body Information You don't really mention the specifics of his body build. While mentioning he has larger arms, his weight of 178 while standing around 6' 4" would give him a fairly lean build. However, since you do not state that, it is difficult to see how you are imaging the character.
