Hello fellow players of massivecraft,

I have come today to talk to you specifically about Jorrhildr, the ice world located at the southern sub arctic region in the Alorian map.

Allow me to first provide you with a picture of Jorrhildr:

As of February 6th, of this year, MonMarty stated the following on Jorrhildr:

"Jorrhildr just started production and the geography is well underway. This project is lead by MonMarty. Jorrhildr will be a fairly simple world, true to the antarctic region, it will feature large land masses of ice, snow and mountains with very little to no vegetation (It is also only 1/4 the size of Ithania). Additionally, all races except the Frostmanes will freeze to death within a minute unless they wear leather armour. The world itself has a shallow ocean, meaning the mountains in Jorrhildr are probbaly the largest in MassiveCraft, peaking nearly 200 blocks from sealevel. The Frostmane will be the native beast species inhabiting this continent, a dying breed forced to invade Ellador for food."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh wait what was that? Lets take a look at it again:

"Jorrhildr just started production and the geography is well underway."

--------------------------------------------------

Meaning that Jorrhildr is being developed. Creating a world is hard, but then again at Regalia's Notice board a notice sign was put up, i dont have a screenshot of it, but I do think I remember well what they said:

Jorrhildr is being explored by Regalian colonists, trading route to the public will be released soon.

----------------------------------------
Wait... did they say soon?

And now my people, that sign was put up over 2 months ago, if I remember correctly.

And yet Jorrhildr has failed to be released. Now heres the funny part:

Some people say Jorrhildr hasnt even been worked on. But i dont believe it.

Clearing up, i am not trying to insult, rush, or mock the staff in any way, i just wish for a word on how long, estimated, it will be out, for both my, and alot of others sakes.

============================================

Another question to those who read until here:

Are frostmanes and frostmornes the same thing?

When will the playable race, frostmane, will come out?

I believe that the release of Jorrhildr was delayed due to the freezing plugin not working correctly or something. Don't quote me on that, but I did see MonMarty say in general that they will probably release a different world before Jorrhildr.

The project was put on hold because the world needed a lot more preparation than we could push out, and we instead focussed all efforts on Hadar. Then the maker of the Hadar map went on holiday, so we currently have no progress there. Faradeen as a project was cancelled because the person in charge effectively left the team without leaving anything behind. Both Thortuna and I are working on and off on separate maps, but progress is extremely slow because we are both overworked with tasks in the direction department.

Jorrhildr was worked on, in fact here is an image of the map post tree forestation.

Yes pleeeeease make hadar for the races that come from there!

Its great to know Jorrhildr has been worked on, but is there an estimate on how long it will take for it to be worked on again?

I can always help. And to the work you have to do for Direction, best of luck.

If you guys have an easy and quick way to teach someone how to use worldedit and such I could drop in and maybe help make the worlds :)

It looks great. I hope it comes out successfully. I need to send in my grid application.

I also second what Mech said. I am pretty good at that kind of thing, although normally at Starcraft 2 or Warcraft 3.

Good to see people are joining in to help make this world.

Much appreciated :)

I saw whoever it was who makes the worlds making Jorrhilder on a live stream a few weeks ago, it is fairly similar to the Warcraft 3 editor. Pretty simple once you get the hang of it, and when you have experience with the blizzard world edits you already do.

What are the red bits on top of some of the mountains?

I've seen ninjabaver world paint on one of his streams, and he seemed excellent, so I think the staff is well off with training.

Players are unable to assist in world creation. You must become a staff member or aspirant to work on worlds.

The red is most-likely a portion of a layer. Layers on World Painter are color coded.

Woa Jorrhildr is just snow..and mountains and more snows...
In RP how humans will survive in THIS place?

Man the frostmanes will totally be in their element here. While they'd be able to wear iron, chain, or diamond armor, the other races will have to wear leather armor and could be killed fairly easily.

basically what I'm hearing is that the nooby, un-RP pvp'ers shall not thrive, and a new era of roleplay and diplomacy shall dawn!

Actually, this does present some interesting opportunities for roleplay. Say you are traveling with a few other non-frostmanes, for example, lets say Bob the tigran, Franklin the elf, and Richard the human. They set up camp for the night, but they are attacked my monsters, and most of their leather traveling gear is ripped to shreds! there is now only one set of leather left, which means only one of the poor souls is going to escape these savage lands with their lives. As the last embers of their campfire die out, Franklin grabs a sharpened stone and glares at Bob and Richard, with murderous intent in his eyes...

^ Yeah, that is a cool scenario for RP. Well, it's true, cause leather armor does break, and if you have limited supplies and don't have at least an iron sword, stuff could get bad. Personally I'm more excited about this world than any of the other new worlds.

I'm really excited for just the fun of attempting to travel in these harsh mountain lands, even if I don't necessarily have an in-game goal, it would be fun to just be a sort of wilderness adventurer, take a flint and steel and make campfires as you go to keep warm, being sort of a pilgrim and traveling the mountain ranges. And then, of course, the bloody murder for survival <3

Cay is working on a plug-in. In Jorrhildr, if you don't wear Leather armor, you freeze to death. Really.

-begins making god-leather armor-
Wow, that sounds like a amazing plugin. But are there other things that will prevent you from freezing to death? Like if your start a fire? Im also hoping for a instance in this world, hopefully like that temple level in Uncharted 2.

It also is a good thing to note that there is 1.5, then suddenly 1.6, and then 1.6.2, so it'd definitely be a big pain in the arse having to constantly update within a 2 week time-span at once.
