Character Information Full Name: Joanna van Goedefeld Race: Wirtem Ailor Age: 34 Sex and Gender: Female Sexuality: Homosexual Married to Anne van Goedefeld, a fellow Thousandblade. Eye Color: Blue Core Concept Once a brilliant inventor and builder of technological weapons for the Lothar Order, Joanna von Duerr eventually grew disillusioned with the Lothar order as she realized they were far, far more radical than she was - she hated the occult, but sought to largely spare those she deemed innocent, where her peers did not. Eventually guilt overtook her, and she absconded from the Lothar Order to become a Bloodcast. There, she reforms, and while she's still generally conservative, she has left her days of intense hatred far behind and seeks now to help those she once looked down on and sought to oppress.Proficiency Information STR | Break Down, Steady BodyCON | Shield Bunker, Shield wall, Shield Phalanx, Shield Deflect, Shield Block (Free), Interception (free)DEX | Deadeye Barrage, Deadeye Luckshot, Deadeye Doubletap, Deadeye FocusWIS | INT | Tech Exchange, Tech Exhaust, Tech Auto [Klokktech and Teslatech]MAG | FTH |Languages Common Calem (Native) D'ithanie (Native) Anglian (learned) Appearance Information Joanna is mundane and has no mutations. Joanna is built tall and broad, with the musculature expected of a serving knight, but with a more than moderate amount of body fat, so she doesn't have great muscle definition as a result. Her most distinguishing features are a strongly triangular nose, rectangular face, and high cheekbones. She has blue eyes and long, thin black hair that she typically ties back and out of the way. When not in armor, she once favored modestly conservative clothing in imperial style that was fitting for a noblelady, but has since abandoned lavish silks for linens for still modest but more more commoner appropriate clothing. Beneath cmetal and cloth she has many tattoos, all done in blackout Anglian style, most have unionist or klokktech motifs. Life Story Joanna von Duerr is born in Duerrstein, Calderliga. Her father is Wirtem, her mother is Ithanian. She was expected to be born as a Crown Witch archon, given that her parents are Crown Witches, but she was born mundane, to their disappointment. Joanna grew up in her parent's manor, before eventually leaving as a teenager on her own accord, seeking out the Lothar in heartland Calemburg, and joining their ranks there, much to her Occultist family's chagrin. She loses contact with her parents and younger sibling through her knighthood. Joanna completes her squireship and graduates into the Sudzhennya chapter with flying colors. Upon her graduation, she took a vow to disregard any political affiliations as a Lothar, and aspired to be knight first, noble second. Her younger sibling Jocelyn inherits the head of house von Duerr instead of her. As the technology of the empire progresses, Joanna takes interest. She begins study of physics and machinery - something that genuinely interests her, as part of her knightly duties, she studies machinery, particularly Klokktech and Teslatech, and eventually comes to master lightning and eletrical creations, a great boon to her Order. She comes into being a fully fledged and highly skilled craftswoman and engineer, and excels particularly at making anti-occult weaponry. Joanna continues her work with the Lothar, and eventually, she begins working with the Belliard Guild shortly before the Vampire Occupation. Particularly, she aids in the perfecting and manufacturing of their ranged firearms, and at some point, she abandons crossbow and picks one of her own up. During the Vampire Occupation, Joanna began working on a prototype of an improved Hallowed Lantern, a device the Lothar use to flush out and kill vampires, that would work on all afflicted and rogue mages. She used and perfected this prototype at the end of the vampiric occupation and beyond, eventually handing it over to the Belliard as promised in her hiring contract. Although she was a purist, Joanna thought her prototype would only really see use against the 'bad' occult - afflicted and evildoers, those who profaned the emperor. She was horrified to learn that it was used to often brutalize the innocent, too, as it worked on any who had even an ounce of magic within them. Joanna von Duerr absconds from the Lothar Order on unfriendly terms, trashing her prototype and workshop before fleeing and going into hiding. She's in hiding for around a year, and eventually is recruited into the Bloodcast Order. During her time of hiding and becoming a bloodcast, Joanna cuts herself off completely from the von Duerr family and rescinds all she has to do with being a noble, first dropping her last name, and eventually taking her wife's last name when she marries. Joanna recently graduates as a Thosandblade Bloodcast out of Axford. She returns to Regalia to see her sister again around her sister's birthday. Fun facts Joanna enjoys choir, and has participated in many choirs in temples of areas she stays around for extended amounts of time. She's very skilled at this hobby, and puts a lot of her heart into her ability to sing.
