During childhood he spent a lot of time with his father sparing with a sword and spear, and mother learning the Haana holy texts, forming a strong bond with both parents. In later childhood, Jesrah had grown adept at wielding a spear and the basics of swordplay, as he was personally taught by his father, however eventually was cut off from his father to become more independent. At sixteen, he began training with a private tutor, continuing his training with both sword and spear, however also took a liking to using a warlash, to create a more unique fighting style, as he knew he needed to carve his own future for a comfortable life, as Songaskian culture despises the idea of inheritance. In his mid-twenties, he was offered a position by a prominent general in the elite of the Masaya, named Amadou Diawara, so he accepted the proposal gladly. This offer was to act as a personal assassin and bodyguard to the general, eliminating his political rivals, as was commonplace amongst the military-inclined nobility of the Masaya, and thus was given a hidden switchblade crafted by a Qadir engineer. Over the subsequent years, Jesrah found himself constantly with contracts, mastering stealth, deceit and execution, under the alias of Daezerios, derived from Altalar names to keep his identity hidden when eliminating targets. Jesrah found himself returning to his family's home between contracts, not to see his family, but his lover. However, not long afterwards his father had her family sold to another noble, as he considered her a distraction to his son performing his duties. It was here he gave her a parting gift of a ring, identical to his own ,which he told her to keep hidden to remember him by. Following this separation and after years of subtle attention towards his faith, Jesrah became more enlightened by Shambala’s gaze. He believed his work may have been sinister, however the teachings suggested every role had a purpose, and thus continued in his career but began worshipping daily by reciting the Haana holy texts and praying towards the sun. Having remained out of war his entire life, in 302 A.C Jesrah found himself involved in the First Songaskian War in the Battle of the Old Rivergrand, following the divinations by the Shambala priests. However, he returned to Farah’deen immediately after the storming of Regalia, as war bred great opportunities for generals to be eliminated, and others to rise, and thus was set back to working as an assassin. Following the war, political turmoil embroiled the Masaya, and the Second Songaskian War broke out in May 305 A.C, which Jesrah was told to remain out of by both his family and General Diawara, as all supported the previous and rightful ruler Musamansa Koné. He remained out of the conflict as a whole, joining Musamansa’s forces when civil war commenced in July 305 A.C, with Regalia ending their war to allow him to reclaim his throne. Following the civil conflict and political instability of the Imperial Dragon’s emergence, General Diawara was promoted to a higher position than he'd previously held, and thus alleviated Jesrah of his service as an assassin, and was no longer necessary to him. Thus, following the civil war, Jesrah set sail for Regalia in the hope of further enlightenment of this Imperial Dragon and to perhaps experience a change in culture away from the backstabbing of the Masayan courts, though he very much doubted this.
If you want to add such a hefty connection to the current Masaya leader, you'd need a canon backstory permission. For now, just state that General Diawara was given a lofty position and Djibril was no longer necessary.

The major changes I recall are as follows and all edits in the app are marked in blue: Basic Information: Changed him to be known by his actual first name, Jesrah, not his second name, Djibril. Also changed his preferred weapon to a shortspear. Skill Information: Proficiencies updated in line with change in combat style for the character, and all ritualism removed in line with recent updates. Visual Information: N/A Personality: Removed him being obsessivley devout as he isn't a religious-esc character so felt wrong being so high. Life Story: All aspects of slavery removed in line with Songaskian updates in the recent past, and updated in accordance with changes to his combat style.
