Introducing Yourself

As a fan of roleplay, I find it difficult to engage in a conversation without looking weird. I try the "ugh I'm bored ima talk to that loser over there"- approach, but I have no idea what to say to them.

That's my approach! In the end, your introduction won't matter too much. I go for a kind of 'hello...how are you...[insert comment on current events]...name...occupation...hobbies.' you keep going until you find something you feel your character can discuss. You might spend ages on current events or you might get stuck in an awkward silence, which is true to real life.
