I feel that putting 20th century stuff into Regalia would seem like cramming too many things into something that currently is alright.

I don't think Regalia is growing stale; far from it. I'd argue occupation events are a necessity for new players to experience, even if it feels repetitive. Occupations also have the benefit of having strong character developments that last years.

Maybe we won't have magical creatures invade. Maybe the disenfranchised poor take control for a few months. It's whatever fits the narrative. But I don't think a rip in time to create 1920s Regalia is the way to go.

Agreement with FireFan. End of the Year Events are meant to be a stimulant for newer players, its not necessarily aimed at older veterans, though when done well it can appeal to both.

I also have a theory thats probably true as to why everything is always happening to Regalia: Under our sewers are Elven sewers. And under those are Seraph ruins and swarms of mutants. Regalia might have been built on top of the Seraph capital, or some other majorly important location, hence all the gods and everyone keeps trying to get to it, through us. Or something of the sort.

i personally want a moon invasion but fire's kinda right

Regalia would be littered with strange discoveries which could induce roleplay not treaded near before, from districts being quarentined without entry and being plunged into warzones as corrupted creatures roam to infect. Escape or die, the final resolution. Wartime aviation could litter the landscape as Navy warships sit at the waters, ready to be discovered.
I will say I like the idea of an invasion that Regalia just cant stop with walls and warships.

The Dread Empire uses unknown Void Magics to do crazy things in battle, as the Black Towers have shown. If this years EotYE is an occupation or battle in Regalia, having the Kathar literally just bypass our defensed and force Regalia to barricade off districts and such would be a cool way to go about it that hasn't happened yet. (the Dragon Occupation came close but the division lasted all of like 3 days before everything dissolved and fell back to the Status Quo of normalcy)

Regalia has had a lot thrown at it, from a Songaskian invasion to the dead rising and finishing with two dragons competing for the archipelago and yet, we have a budget to repair all damages. My point is, Regalia is becoming overused and limited in terms of new experiences, the well is nearly dry. This is why I introduce you to this grand scheme of the cutting room floor.

Honestly, i'm suggesting a story arch to open the door to a few more opportunities and that includes using a seraph ruin as plot armour to fuel an entrance into the physical void. Only the void acts as a storage ground for lost magic and connects it to a fair amount of nightmare fuel creatures but the most important piece is the fact that this entrance, opens up many more. This could be used to impliment the 1920's roleplay that was mentioned earlier in the year and an array of much more for a short moment.

Essentially,

  • The Void would be entered through a seraphin technological remnant, which provides numerous gateways to other realms unknown. Including snippets of history from a modern Aloria, including the 1920's noir theme suggested earlier in the year.
  • The Void is leaking corrupted pieces of history, which has spread like wildfire across Aloria. Regalia is hit by remnant aviation, warships from the past and future and even buildings, being fixed into the ground. Survivors will become infected with an incurable varation of the Vampire curse, unless their transport was pressurised and able to pass uncontacted.
  • The arrival of a former seraphin colony, who are active carriers of the vampire curse but fail to hold many of the traits. Fangs and weakness to sunlight exist, but the need for blood and spontanious conbustion fail to make a mark in their biological state.
But why could this be productive?
  • Regalia is being worn out from continued usage, it is all the same no matter how many ways to frame the picture. This idea is fresh, it provides a platform to introduce new features and connect the two roleplay words mentioned prior.
  • Regalia would be littered with strange discoveries which could induce roleplay not treaded near before, from districts being quarentined without entry and being plunged into warzones as corrupted creatures roam to infect. Escape or die, the final resolution. Wartime aviation could litter the landscape as Navy warships sit at the waters, ready to be discovered.
  • Introduction of new features into the roleplay world using this as a platform to convey those. While this shouldn't directly be named the Void, moreso a physical existance resembling or closely connected to it.
How could we implement this?
  • Start off with a few strays, whether trustee or not and bring them to a strange location. Maybe the room of a 1920's apartment with the radio playing for a short few minutes, enough to get interested and bring some concern across. People will start bringing it up and if you string similair pieces together, you might bring some people together.
  • Maybe get a handful of people to play deadman characters, where they just go around causing roleplay havoc in the locations which are marked for future interest. Sanguine epidemic just resolved? Great, because the port district is being locked down following a U-Boat crew all infected with an undocumented sanguine strain has flooded the district, rendering it under strict quarentine.
Of course, this is an early staging and idea of this and before anything is mentioned over open channels and secrets as best kept as secrets. There is a story backed behind this, though, this is just a concept.

The problem with there being a physical void is that the Void isn't like Binral in the sense that it doesn't follow the same 4 physical dimensions that we do. Line(Space), Square(Space), Cube(Space), and Time(Time). So it would be impossible for a being that follows the four Binral dimensions to enter the Void and compute with it. What I mean by compute is to be able to like, walk around, or talk to somebody, or just to think in general. The most basic concepts that we are based off would be stripped from us. In this way, it would be impossible to do anything in the Void, or even be conscious in it, as only our "being" would exist there, and our body would have no actual concept of placement (It would be everywhere and nowhere at the same time one might say). But this doesn't mean your idea of things entering there wouldn't work. Like a Songaskian warship might enter the Void (I don't know how), and it wouldn't do anything there, but let's say somebody opened up a complete portal to the Void, they could return the warship back to its original shape and restored it to its natural form.
