The illusion would still be there, but it's really her deciding how people should feel behind the scenes. She'd want to create a mono culture where she shares the same mindset and goals with everyone around her so she doesn't feel as alienated as she tends to feel around people unlike her. She, also, doesn't like depressive and angsty people, and wants them to be happy. If people can't find happiness on their own, she could always force them into it. Despite the violations on human rights and how blatantly evil 'stripping free will' is, she'd see it as an objectively good thing. She'd be doing everyone a favor by ensuring they're happy and content.
