Since the Inquisition fell, intense RP has hit a bit of a low. Everywhere in Regalia are vampires faffing about and god-rp'ing. The Holy City that lives by the scriptures of anti-vampirism has turned into, well, a vampire city. There is no regulation and there hasn't been any visable development in server-wide lore.

I would like to present a solution.
The Chantry of the Lionheart
The Crimson Inquisition's spiritual successor.

It aims to control the growing vampire plague, like the Inquisition. However, instead of mere "barbaric" eradication, the main method of dealing with these vampires is to place them in Covens. A Coven is a community of vampires that is regulated by the Chantry by Templars. Each vampire within is subjected to laws that will restrain them. Each Coven is a separate faction outside of Regalia that keeps tabs on these vampires. It will have strong Chantry presence (Mostly consisting of Templars) and will receive support from the Chantry in the form of goods. To give the vampires a slight feel to rights, a vampire chosen by the rest of the Coven will be a representative that will speak for his/her Coven during meetings.

If a vampire is spotted in Regalia by a Chantry member, they should either be executed or re-detained depending on the number of violations the vampire has committed. Vampires can get a permit to wander Regalia freely if they prove to be law-abiding citizens in their Coven.

The Chantry itself will have two branches; the Templars and the Vindicators.

The Templars are a military branch that patrol the streets of Regalia (and occasionally in the wilderness). Their orders are to keep watch over the Covens and find renegade vampires who have not joined a Coven.

The Vindicators have a more courtly role, as they are to find vampires and deal with the Covens. They are also needed for diplomatic activity between Covens and the Chantry. Vindicators also must keep track of vampire records and dole out punishments accordingly.

Renegade vampires are any vampires that have not joined a Coven or do not have a permit. In the Scriptures of the Lionheart, vampires are to be dealt in three ways:
They are to be detained in a Coven, cured, or executed.

Covens are also places where vampire-sympathetic people are detained, depending on how public their practice is.

Thoughts? Comments? (Keep the vampire rights comments down and save them for IF this is implemented.)

So we make Vampire concentration camps basically? And, do these "Covens" try to convert the Vampires back to the "light"?
Anyways, I like it.

Reminds me of the whole Mass Effect 3 Ardat-Yakshi thing :P

I can just tell you a few things to vampire hunting in regalia:
  • When you attempt to make it real with jailing and stuff, you will need wolfframs agreement (an RP character) and team-member help at times.
  • If you do this work, you need heavy nerves since the situation can go pretty much from absolute anti to absolute pro vampire in no time. One wrong decision in a RP manner and all (not only vampires) think that you are the bad guy. It is really hard to handle such a Rp, since most people mix up RP and personal being (which you have to avoid under any circumstances)
  • Take your main Rp place away from spawn, sure there are less likely vampires to find but you will not have the problem with re spawning people. Newbies who re spawn have the tendency to do god-rp and say "you didn't kill me, I have a resurrection stone" or similar garbage.
  • Don't only present yourself at one part and do not only focus on hunting, conversation with the normal citizens is most important, otherwise they'll loose the trust in your character and organisation.
I like player driven things and so would I like to see a player driven community that would not only hunt vampires, maybe also show them that they are not liked in Regalia. This can be a very simple, "phht, diseased people" when walking past them" or a more active "you shouldn't be here diseased, when a guard see you you will get executed" up to "A vampire, burn the heretic" (although the third one should only be performed from very brave and strongly willed citizens and guardians).

I'd like to see it, in a player driven manner with maybe a little bit of help from me here and there...

Sounds like a good idea. Perhaps you could get Wolffram on, and both of you RP the signing of an agreement (like, a really big thing. 2 weeks in advance on the forums or something, to get an audience). And behind Wolffram will be Crimson supporters and behind you would be the Chantry supporters. I'd be a part of that if it happened (because I support the Crimsons).

I'm hoping to make this community less... Hated by giving the vampires more wriggle room. Personally, I'm too sick of the countless numbers of vampires to care if I'm hated by them or not, despite the fact that I'm doing them a favor in the long run.

..........
Vampires cannot be jailed.
Vampires cannot be killed in regalia.

Good luck with your impossible crusade I am sure that vampires will once again loiter the spawn and other areas taunting you to anger.

There is a "jailhouse" in Regalia. Technically, vampires are not allowed in Regalia anyway.

Anyway, OP, I love this idea! I want to see it implemented! It's got a lot of roleplay potential!

Does "Technically" mean you can jail them?

I've seen it done before, RP-wise. Not legitimate server jail, of course, that's for serious offences. I say "technically" because according to sources, Regalia is not a vampire-friendly city. However, that does not stop vampires from roaming around and it does not hinder general roleplay.

Doesn't say much about your "RP" does it?

Its not impossible. The Crimson Inquisition is irrefutable proof of that. It would be difficult, but I suspect that an entity such as the Chantry would really encourage RP and unite players to be with or against it.

Also, there's no flame war. Its just you being butthurt that Corn was able to debunk your view of roleplaying.

sure I will be watching you guy's fail then.

SirTinkles, how exactly would the Covens be matched up? Like, would they be random or would they be according to offence? For example, the vampires who have committed worse crimes are in one Coven, generally good ones in another? Or would it just be like, Heya, here's your new Coven! Have fun! Enjoy your rights!

Reminds me of the Holocaust and how they put Jews in concentration camps. Not really looking forward to this, even if it does make sense with the lore.

I'd rather have them executed and be done with it. Besides, almost no vampire would actually follow the rules and do what you are suggesting, so this is somewhat pointless.

This is where the Templars and the Chantry presence in the Coven comes in. They can swiftly execute any vampire trying to go renegade. Putting the vampires in the Covens would be forced onto any vampire that joins Regalia, as they'll be given a choice to join a Coven or be executed.

Similar to how the Inquisition offers a cure, or an axe to the neck. They refuse, and they lose all their items. And possibly, they could be thrown into jail until they make a choice.

You ought to read an opposing opinion thoroughly before you try and snap back.

What you have to take into account is the amount of Mature players that regular Massivecraft. Then, obviously, the ammount of mature vampires (That is like 2% of them) and of course, those who would be willing to rp with this idea. It's a great idea, don't get me wrong, but you have to understand that there is a large volume of 'God Vampires' who posses all of these op abilities and will obviously rebel against this idea.

I'm aware of this. Although I'm hoping to establish more kinmanship between vampires through covens, this would be forced upon them like the checkpoints set up by the Inquisition.

The problem I'm seeing with my idea, however, is the cooperation of people in the Chantry. Vampires could be unruly, but they can be dealt with by jails or executions. But any Templar or Vindicator would have lots of responsibility upon them, as they would be required to run factions full of vampires.

This idea would definitely require some admin intervention as well.

I support this, mainly because noob vampires make me want to throw up, then go on a antivampire crusade.

Quite frankly, you can all destroy each other and then I will crush your ashes under my heel.

If this does become established I may join a coven of my own will for the RP. I think it would be fun to have vampiric concentration camps as long as these do not turn into death camps like the real ones.

@MrHappyTinkles: Eh, It's a good idea as long as you have people who don't mind devoting time to it. I know I won't. Hunting down random vampires in the wilderness is enough for me.

@ShadowShy: Ohohoho, baby. You have no idea how much I want to take a cudgel to your faction.
