It always helps to start off with a question-- such as, "Hello, ser, I'm fairly new to Regalia and I'm not sure where the Old God's temple is; can you perhaps point me in the right direction?"  Then you can be all polite and ask for the other's name to thank him properly.  If you ever ask my character, Ysrael, for help, he will gladly.  I'm on my phone, or else I'd give you more suggestions~
