So, first of all I'd like to apologise for the click-bait title, I hope that what I write will justify it.

I've been on massivecraft for about two years, or at least that's what my /seen leads me to believe. In those two years I've played a plethora of characters, nothing big, ever. I've not made any impact, just happily and calmly skimmed along the surface of the roleplay universe.
Whilst this peaceful existence is nice, it's nice to just be average, I felt like being greedy, I tried and tried again to get my name into a World Progression at first, I even tried for staff. Whilst the former was complete, I backtracked on the latter because I'm an idiot.
I've ran out of inspiration, desire to continue, and lack all forms of initiative. I've never been good at initiating a roleplay scenario, those that know me, and even most who don't, would know this, and know it well.

So what I'm saying is, I need help, advice. I need to break away from the clique of friends that I'm in (Whilst a group of nice people), because I need to broaden my horizons a bit. I'm inactive and inconsistent with my characters, mostly due to a lack of inspiration. I'm a bad roleplayer because of this, so whilst it's rude, I just want to ask for some advice.

What should I do? Even telling me to quit roleplay is fine. Just, anything, if you have a mind to speak, please input.

You need to force yourself into a scenario that you typically wouldn't do. The door is open if you want to work with me IG and IC. I cannot promise consistent activity due to my own personal schedule, but I can help facilitate you in the right direction should you choose to take the chance. I will be as difficult or as lax as you prefer, but in doing so I want to be able to see improvement on your end. Let me know if you are interested by directing this into a PM message.

Make a character that you can relate to or just know you actually will like to play- and join some sort of active group that why your character will actually make friends that you'll likely not have known before.

one suggestion is to simply make a side character to just de-stress with.

I have an orc that I use for this purpose. No app, no combat school. Just a regular orc that kinda just goes with the flow, whether it's raiding a Black beach for apples or getting KO'd by a fish with fists.

I have zero incentive to progress the character, because the concept behind said character is to de-stress and not worry about progression. It's just something I do once in a while.

Having a character like this on the side might help find some motivation again.

@Wumpatron
I appreciate the offer! I'll pm you a little later.
@AtticCat
I've tried, and tried again. A relatable character is difficult for me to make, I'll end up making a self insert and I shiver at the thought.
@FireFan96
It's gotten to the point where all of my characters are side characters. I say I have a main character but they have no progression at all. If they try, they just get shot down, and that just puts a damper on my confidence.

I don't think I've seen your name in noble circles before, so that could be an option to try out. Either applying to a noble house and play a noble character, or making one of your already-existing ones serve a noble house.

And by this, I mean actual involvement with politics and not just being a filler-noble or a sidelined northerne.
