My friend knows much, MUCH more than I do about the events, factions, sub-races, and etc. about Massivecraft. He wants me to get on the server more. I would, but the thing is everytime I get on without him there I get ignored. I dunno if it's because I'm weird or because I don't have premium, or what. I need some tips on starting roleplays with people, or just getting people to stop ignoring me. All advice is appreciated. Thanks! - チャンドラーゴドフリー (P.S. My main, the one I want to use. Is rejected because of the way I made him look, and..he's not really...accurate with other Tigrans. I'm kinda weird okay...Take my avatar, add red hair and more Massivecraft accurate clothes and you have my Tigran character.)

My advice would be to just get out there more, involve yourself in some roleplay. Try not to be too insistent on whatever. Even striking up some conversation and having some casual RP talking about things IC can be enjoyable and a wonderful way to get yourself involved in a way that's not intrusive.

Or if you're really struggling try joining a roleplay family, some people are more inclined to roleplay with people that have renowned family names like Kade, Anahera, there are always people looking for members and it's also a great opportunity to expand your roleplay.

Ah, but generally they're not accepting members who aren't known in some fashion. And RP staff has to vote upon members of those.

Heyo kiddo! You seem pretty darn rad, I don't think anyone should be ignoring yah. There's always people available to roleplay, and some of us are pretty dang open. If you need help with your roleplay I'm willing to help, jus' let me know. Also, I am generally available to roleplay if I'm not involved in something already I'm always game for a good drinkin' session or the likes. Hahah! Just PM me whenever you are on or whatnot. My timezone is Eastern Standard Time USA if you were wondering and maybe we can meet up!

I was in a Ballard family, and now I'm in the Kundinmal family. Not to lively since it's being revived.

Being new to Massive is a bit like being the new kid at a school. There are already people who may have known each other for a long time. My top tip would be to listen for a while. Get a feel for the place. Over hear a character talking about the purge? Have your character ask what is going on. Don't get an answer? Well that person may just want to RP with the people they were talking to. However since you heard that conversation maybe try someone else. Like say to someone "I just heard talk of a purge. Could you tell me what's going on?" The key is to not be pushy about it though and never meta something. Good luck and have fun.

I /was/ generally open if you want to RP, but I won't be able to get on until next week so. Hell on me.

Thanks, you seem quite interesting too! I might PM you later, but I don't have time to RP today. It's late where I live. (Not sure the time Zone >.<)

New Jersey, United States, for me right now it's 9 pm~ <3 <3 Not a problem. I'm generally able to go on and roleplay more on the weekends.

I'm going to ask you a few questions about your RP character so that I can perhaps recommend something.

What is their gender?
What is their race?
What is their age?
What is their personality?

1) Male.
2) One is Tigran (He's the main and kinda..how do I say...rejected one...) One is a Dwarf, and one is a Yanar, although he's very new. just made today..not even registered.
3) Tigran: Mid-twenties. Dwarf: IDK I made it for my friend, he said dwarfs could live to be REALLY old. Yanar: Not decided.
4) Tigran: Shy, tends to listen to his elder more than anyone (He's scary.) Friendly. Dwarf: Hard, drunken, Very stubborn about his race and family. And Rum. Yanar: Not decided.

Staff members usually respond more openly to anyone approaching them. If you find you have no subject to talk to nobles about, just start clawing at Freya Lo's hair or something. You won't necessarily have a good time, but it's a great way to get sucked into plots that involve you being tortured and what not.

You could always look for me, I'll role play with ya~ You seem like a nice kid. Look for Sakuya Bramble, and I'll fool around with you. I have one piece of advice. Don't piss off the nobles. They get really, really scary when you do. Trust me on this.
Also, stay away from the poor district if you wish to live.

To be fair some nobles have longer fuses then others. It would take a lot to piss the Fong's off. (You still don't want to try it though)

Also My Advice. (Since I am that One Friend) Like I said before. Go out and talk to people. Pester them until they yell at you. See? RP. Try to get into Organizations. Like The Brute Squad for instance or Regalian Guard.

An important part of Role-Play, I find, is enjoying your own character. Make him lively and interesting, and let the drama and intrigue come from In-Game events, not your backstory.

Also, though every one wants friends at the top, it's never a bad idea to find friends at the bottom. Find other players who are also new to Role-Play. The ladder's a lot easier to climb when you do it with a friend.

Giving your character a goal that involves other people can also help. For example, I have a character that's a kleptomaniac. I start interactions by trying to steal from people (I always get their consent from PM beforehand). I have a character who owns a clinic with bad business. She's always trying to get people in so she's always commenting on people's health. Another character I have is fascinated with stories and other people, and is awkward enough to approach people that look interesting to her. These three characters have immediate goals that involve other people and I find are great ways to get people involved. Of course, if people can't see me or it's clear they wanna stick with their group, I always back off.

Another interesting idea that's a bit of trial and error is to look for people sitting alone in the tavern. Chances are, if they're not afk, they're too shy to engage in roleplay and want someone to come to them. Of course, the only drawback to this approach is it's a bit embarrassing if they /are/ afk. But no ones judging you for trying to engage loners. <3

Good luck getting more engaged with others and getting yourself out there

Edit: another good way to engage people is to comment on their skins. "What a lovely dress!" "You sir, look like a sailor." "I haven't seen an Ur in ages."

Hey man if it's any ease on you I have seen you all over the forums and you look like a pretty cool guy. I would love to be recognized too considering I've known Massive for over a year. Anyway the advice you're getting from these lovely people should help. I wish you luck on your journey of being known. :)

My advise is stick to a single character for a while to get youself known. Character-hopping makes it harder to make relationships.

U could always go to the tavern and make a injury scene. That's what I did

Well, I hate to see others get ignored-- it makes me sad ;( I'd be more than happy to role play with you! If you ever see me in game, feel free to approach me :P my characters are generally kind and open to speaking with new people :3

Everyone offered great advice-- this is a very friendly community, so you must've stumbled upon some Grouchy Gusses or those that were just not in the mood to RP... At any rate, I think you'll fit in here just fine c: We all start out somewhere! Best of luck to you!~

Aye, factions are a great place to meet new people, try new things, even make yourself known in the world. You get to build your own town, make your own life for yourself outside of Regalia. It's actually rather fun, and there are many factions out there who accept players not so accustomed to the factions plugin and get them aquatinted with it. We all start somewhere, from the ground up

My char often sits alone in the tavern if not talking to a friend or something. So if you meet me next week or two you can find a way to approach me (the easiest way is through commenting on the eyepatch, wenches love the eyepatch)

But for now unfortunately I am caught up with some serious real life matters so it'll have to be later (especially when I have a sleepover at my brother's dorm, where an all nighter is possible)

I can say that a big vice is that I mentally cannot ignore roleplay unless I really try, or I accidentally miss it. If someone approaches me, I always reply back, dependent upon their actions.
I'd also try and involve yourself in a guild or organization. Shayin was boring until he joined in the Lo Family escapades.

If you're looking for RP, come find me when I'm IC :)

Thanks! Everyone is giving me very good advice. An explosion of advice I'll call it. XD
