How many god role players have you seen in the past month?

I was just strolling around in Regalia just yesterday and I had around 3-4 god role players randomly 'attack' me and use magic which is impossible. A knife thrown at them for example they said deflect with breathe, break with hand swipe and so on.

There is hardly true roleplay going on unless you see the staff and other experienced roleplayers RP. All new players I see god roleplay with others.
I know the lore and staff are trying to enforce the rules for this and mention them onto the forum or explain the concept of true RP but really it doesn't seem to be working although everyone is trying

So time to compare, how many 'new' people are 'god' role players? How many have you seen?

Tell your story.

Oh this is brilliant!
A list of god RPers that the admins can come back to. That is, if the repliers are willing to share their names.
I do not however.
This is how it happened...
TrolledPan1337: Lalalalalalalalala, I'm so damn happy. Nothing could possibly ruin this -keeps fishing for diamond armor-
D00D123156347: -takes out lightsaber and cuts off TrolledFaggot's head- Lawl1!1!!!1
TrolledPan1337: -Frowns- I could of sworn I just heard a fly buzzing around my head
D00D123156347: Yeah I just cut off your friggen head!
TrolledPan1337: Oh yeah? -throws a punch at D00D123156347-
D00D123156347: -Dodges and jumps 30 feet in the air and throws 10428359028490683496 knifes at TrolledFaggot-
Me at the time: Just go along with it...
TrolledPan1337: -Catches all the knifes and melts them into a really long sword-
D00D123156347: -Cuts sword off handle with breath-
TrolledPan1337: Oh ma gawd its a dragon!
D00D123156347: -Stabs TrolledFaggot through heart with pinkie finger.-
TrolledPan1337: ......

I guess god RPing hasn't been to bad for me. Im just a bit irritated that magic is such a rare thing yet 80% of the people I encounter can throw fireballs and what not.

Everyone has experiences with god roleplayers, it is just a matter of teaching them what they are doing wrong and how to change it. If you are looking for quality roleplayers you just have to roleplay with the right people :).

It's hard to teach people how to RP in chat. Sometimes you just sit there saying "Oh I hope he doesn't cuss me off!" or "Was it something I said?".

Wow. I have never had the luck (good or otherwise) to have anything similar to this happen to me. I have rarely been able to do much rp, partly due to my character not really being the type to start up conversations with random people. However, I haven't seen anything like that. I don't think the result would be that great if I did...
-Person- Stabs with chainsaw
-me- What?
-Person- your dead. I just stabbed you.
-me- with a chainsaw?-
-Person- yes.
-me- Ok, need I remind you that this is a medieval roleplay server, ..... rages on and on, ending in ban request.

If they are god roleplaying an action out I simply tell them in ooc ((-Stabs man- is God rp. To rp you need to leave a chance for failure such as -Attempts to stab man- or -Tries to stab man-)) In the more ridiculous cases it might be best to just ignore them and continue on...

Actually, I was looking back on my rp, and I do remember one time (actually not that long ago) where in the emperor's tavern I was trying to carry on a conversation with a person. These two other people were jumping on the tables and doing such ridiculous and completely immature things as -throws up on table- or -farts in face- which was rather annoying.

A few days ago I went to the emperor's tavern to see what would happen. I actually found a couple of decent rpers, I was in the middle of having a conversation with them when this one guy randomly went into t he tavern and started a fight with a couple of people. He then apparently tore out the throats of 3 men, snapped the neck of another, and sprayed laughing gas into the last one before dashing off into the streets....

You all seem to look at God Rping as only, doing things that aren't realistic. For instance, bringing out a lightsaber, using un-usable magic, etc.
We I think God Rping, I think of someone who doesn't know how to structure a action, and tries to control things that aren't him.
For instance, -Pushes you against the wall, making your head smashed in-
This is god Rping. If you were to do this properly, you would have to do it over a couple of lines, allowing the other player to defend.
First line, The Action, Second, The connection, Third, the outcome. The number of lines the outcome needs depends on how serious the affect is.
For instance, If I were to cut someone head off.
-My hand would hold gripped to the blade, as I would fling it forward against the mans neck-
-The Blades sharp steel would connect to the mans skin around his neck-
-The steel would slice through the skin, as it would pull back along his neck-
-It would break through the muscle around the next, as it's forced deeper-
-The Muscle would part at the neck-
-The Blade would hit the bone, scraping along it-

-FInally, I would pull the blade back, then flying it forward again-
-With a swing it would knock at the same location, connecting with the bone-
-As it does this the bone would part, cracking & finally breaking-
-Leaving the man headless-

I think Mods need to make a structure of how to rp, clearer!

I stood at spawn with a bunch of people around me, then this girl walks up to the group, gets ignored by everyone and then says

Oh for the last time! all ye men leave me alone before I drop a dagger in your throat!

A classical DCSForerunner, especially considering nobody was looking at her or giving her any attention.

So if that is God rping, then what is the whole lightsaber unrealistic thing? Besides God rping, since -cuts head off with lightsaber- still meets God rp specifications.

Called meta-gaming. And guess what, there is one!

I've seen so much god role play I can't even count how many times I've seen it. This one time in the Emperor's Tavern this guy was fighting like 5 people (Of course he was fighting. After all, it's the Emperor's Tavern we're talking about here -_-) and he managed to snap their necks and tear their heads off and stuff. First of all, generally you can't do that when fighting 5 people at once. Secondly, why does that tavern ALWAYS have a fight going on there?

I have only RP'd a couple times, but the only time I thought someone was metagamming/God-rping was during a coversation.

My character was strolling through regalia during the late evening, trying to clear his head. He was supposed to be working on something, but his boss didn't know he was gone. No one was following him as he checked periodically to ensure his solitude. As he made his way back to Uspawn, someone came out and said, "Hey! I saw you at X allyway!". I have no doubt that he might have glanced my character walking through a street, but he wouldn't know his face. My character (he isn't to keen on conversation, as he is an introvert and shy) responded," I believe you have the wrong person." He persisted to follow me insisting that I was in the allyway. It was dark and there would be no way for his character to distinguish my character from a crowd, but yet he insisted that he knew me.

Because it is the only place where there are enough roleplaying people to get into one, and half of them are noobs who only want to fight anyway.

I just... got so grossed out... now Ima have nightmares.

Sir_Sherburne, Oh... Hahaha... I remember one with Sir_Sherburne (Reaver); We were talking in the Emperor's Tavern about some stuff and we got intruded by people and they were like -Throws fist which blows up his head- and stuff like that...

Oh good, Good. xD
I read that then, Glad to see I do a lot of that. Third person talking, Descriptive, etc.
The one thing I need to learn to do, is wait for a reply from the rper.
I just spent the last hour, trying to avoid killing a man who continued to try and attack me at Emporer's Tavern.
I ended up putting him in a critical state, as I got sick of him attacking me from behind, and he was too slow to reply to my attacks.
Basically, I smashed his head against the counter, in-front of the Tavern Keeper, repetitively, to the point that his skin was taken off and his skull bashed in.

Can Happily say, I became a Very VERY drunk Violent Dwarf who tried very hard to get the man to stop fighting, and eventually did... Just not the way I wanted.

Just another night in Regalia and....

Weird old man: hi can i bite u?

Me: No, shoo.

Weird old man: -takes a giant sword and cuts ur head off-

Me: .......

Why.. Just why ._.

lorenofwgkta it seems you get in as many creepy God roleplaying instances as people burning me because I lagged out when they warned others. And me getting burned in general, even for no reason...

About people complaining about the Emperor's; it actually houses a few decent RPers, you know. For example, DrFong, MarekDredros and tcarey. We all use proper punctuation and grammar, and know the ways to abide by RP rules, so it's kind of offensive generalising all that go to that location as noobs.

I'm pretty sure I saw a guy think he was the "god" he stepped up to a high building in regalia and said:
"I will take no damage"
(To which a crowd watched him splatter on the floor... )
"Hopeless" I muttered watching a regalian guard scoop his remain to feed to the birds.

Define meta gaming?

The act of using information you obtained OOC i.e in general or help.

It happens to be on that guide right there...

Ah okay so using information not necessary when role playing then?

Imagine it like this. You are you, your character is your character. You know all that the character knows. The character knows nothing of what you know. Like this:
TrolledPan1337: (The answer to the puzzle is 5)
TrolledPan1337: So, what is the answer to the puzzle?
Jomdorr: 5, you just told me!
TrolledPan1337: (You are metagaming, you die now.)

Aaaahhhhhh that makes much more sense...
