"When you finish the game, the king and pawn end up in the same box."
-Rugani Venanzi, former Patriarch.
Brief History
The Venanzi have always been a family of wealth, being well known plantation owners called the Vilaro in Daenshore before their immigration to Vultaro. There they reformed and rebranded themselves as the Venanzi during the Bella Eta. They bought up large swaths of forested land in Vultaro when it was cheap, using their substantial wealth and money gained through liquidization of their plantations and properties in Daendroq. They began to export raw lumber as their new trade, however they decided as a family that they would switch from exporting lumber to the shipwright industry after their realization of the Kade's dominance of the lumber industry. They continued to gain and build up their wealth over the years, soon establishing themselves as Counts of Alabano, launching them into relevance in the Regalian political scene. They married into the Carbone family, completely absorbing them, their family trade of mining coal ore and exporting it, and their County title soon after through the political machinations of Anselmo Venanzi. The Venanzi soon adopted the coal trade for themselves, turning it into the secondary trade of the Venanzi. With the absorption of the County of Cuomo, along with lesser titles from other political dealings, the Venanzi formed the Duchy of Alabano, with approval from the Carbone, who still maintained a degree of autonomy from the Venanzi, and unfortunately for the latter, Filippo Carbone used said powers when Claudio Venanzi was given the title of Don, or patriarch of the Venanzi. While strategically and militarily knowledgeable and competent, he severely lacked in the field of politics. This caused the Carbone to cut ties with the family, causing the Duchy of Alabano to disintegrate back into their previous divisions. To make matters worse, Giacomo Venanzi and his wife, Luca Rossi Venanzi were brutally murdered by House Biaggio due to a fierce rivalry not between the Venanzi, but House Rossi. Many murmured and whispered that it'd take a miracle to put the Venanzi back together, and conveniently for them, the miracle appeared in the form of Pellegrino Giaccherini, who had forsaken his former family, the di Orazio. Pellegrino managed to convince Claudio, who was all to aware of his failures, to absorb his breakaway house and assign him all the remaining titles. With Pelle's installation, he brought an end to the infighting between family members, reinvigorating the family, and brought back the Carbone back into the fold. While the process of the Venanzi progressing to Dukes has paused due to the Bone Horror epidemic, the family currently tries to work their way into the Regalian sphere of influence.

Trade & Income
- Shipwright Industry
- The Venanzi have been producing only the highest of quality ships, most of which have been privately sold to aspiring merchants, privateers, and anyone with regals. They do however have a contract with the Regalian Navy to mass produce ships during times of war and conflict, with massive income benefits after said conflicts have passed. They maintain numerous lumber mills throughout their lands for lumber, as well as importing fresh wood from other aristocratic families in the Empire for shipbuilding.
- Coal Industry
- This aspect of Venanzi trade is not directly controlled by the mainline family, and the power of decision making and the like is made by the Carbone. While this is stays true, all income goes directly into the Venanzi coffers, giving the Venanzi little grief over such an issue. The Carbone operate their mines in Dinazzo, and export their ores to the entire Empire, generating a good portion of Venanzi wealth.
