Family History
Nearly a hundred years ago, Saveli Livanov, a well-to-do merchant from Pavleona, left the capital with his family to purchase land in the countryside. He had invested heavily in the idea, purchasing a herd of cattle, sounder of swine, and a flock of hens - but that was only the livestock. Ahead of their arrival, Saveli had also put money down on farmhands, servants, and carpenters for expansion. When the Livanov's finally arrived, hope for the future was met by a grim reality. The land, advertised as fertile and boundless, was a crop of hard dead earth, with little graze for the cattle. The farmhands never arrived, leaving the family of eight to suffer their first winter in the disrepair and squalor. With no funds to return to the city, the Livanov family struggled, slaughtering their livestock to feed themselves, losing that investment as well. Hope for the Livanov family died with Saveli, who snapped one night, and attacked his wife - in retaliation and the defence of his mother, Bazyli slew him with an axe. The patriarch was buried just beyond the field that night.

By morning, each of the Livanov's remaining dispersed from the old farmstead, which they now believed to be cursed. Pyotr Livanov, one of the family's youngest, remained at the farmstead, painstakingly working to improve it after all others had left. Over time, that cursed plot of land turned some minor profit, Pyotr feeding himself with a small plot of potatoes and carrots. Eventually, as Pyotr found himself a wife, and later she bore a son - Gena. The childbirth, however, had wounded his mother, and she would pass six years later. The death fractured the small family, leading an adolescent Gena to Pavelona before eventually travelling to Regalia. It was there that he converted to Sancella Unionism and enrolled in the School of Lancyon.

After a multitude of careers, Gena Livanov entered into the Inquisition of Holy Leomar, eventually earning the rank of Prefect. Later, he would start his own family, marrying Kasimira Ostrovsky. It was at this time that the Livanov felt he had reached a ceiling of what he could accomplish, and so, lobbied for the name Livanov to be raised above a common status. With pious vim and the help of several allies, Gena was made a nobleman, marking the dawn of a new age for the Livanov family. He has since reached out to his estranged cousins, aunts and uncles back in Etosil, extending to them an invitation to the capital, and the offer of a better life as a part of his new house.

Because just about every member of the Livanov family is estranged from the others, I have decided to leave a good half of the family tree undecided, allowing for anyone who is interested to commit to a write-in. As of right now, I'm not accepting ideas, while I try and get the house of the ground, but later I'll be allowing folks to play as any of Saveli's children, or grandchildren, so long as the idea is good and I feel like I can trust you as a player.

Work in progress.

Playing a Livanov
Whether they're the child of Saveli and Irna, or a descendant of the two, each and every Livanov is shadowed by their past, and the misfortunes that haunt their family. Typically this means that they are scrupulous and hard-working, cautious of taking gambles like Saveli had. This means that Livanov's, similar to other Vladno, are a cold and dour people, but that is not to say they cannot be light-hearted, rather they are often focused, which leaves little time for revelry.

Perhaps most importantly is the Livanov feeling of independence, after Saveli's death, his children (for the most part) struck off alone. Though second-generation Livanov's may have grown up in the comfort of a happy family, they would likely still be taught by their parents the value in self-preservation and self-determination.

Physical details typically stay to the trend of having dark brown hair and blue eyes but feel free to take some creative liberties with this, given that if your Livanov is the child of someone with different features, they will obviously not look exactly like what I described.

Extra Stuff
There are still a few factors I'm undecided on, largely to do with house aesthetics and cosmetic factors. Feel free to throw your vote into any of the polls, whether you plan on joining the house or not, I just need opinions.
