Yet when the Cataclysm raged and all crumbled, only three brothers remained alive with their families, the rest being taken by the waves, the darkness and the horrors that besieged them. One among these however would not sit down and die like the rest. This man, named Haliao Pinxia Li made the decision for the rest of the families to protect the lands of the Sihai from that day forth, and to never again let the Occult take from them their families. They joined the warriors on the Jade Wall every time the threat once again arose from that day forth, becoming soldiers and warriors the rest of the time as their families grew and their name prospered. While many of the fighters in their family were short lived due to their service, it didn't dissuade the generations following from halting the continuation of this sacred duty. - Old | Yet in recent history did the status quo end with the killing of the Family Patriarch (the grandson of Haliao) and the betrayal of the youngest son, Yeyin Neinari Li. Having experienced the horrors of the Akula and seeing his brother and comrades die, Yeyin blamed the Patriarch and the whole family for their doting and press ganging him into service to quell his rebellious mood, and took this rage out on him before fleeing off elsewhere, having been left a grim and sadistic man henceforth. This shattered the family, with many of the patriarchs siblings blaming them for their death or even the still living Matriarch, seeing the main line as cursed or ruined, especially with the only other remaining son, Zihun Haixia Li retiring from military service afterwards and disappearing, leaving the title of Patriarch left open. As such the cousin lines of Diyang and Ziyin distanced themselves from the main line, especially with Yeyin delving into the criminal underworld both in Dexai, and abroad. Instead they focused on who would now rule the family as Patriarch or Matriarch, initially acting civil and diplomatic with one another before descending into a bitter rivalry that has on many occasions broken out into violence and darker actions against one another to claim the title and power once and for all, continuing this fight to this day. - Recent | Now the families still squabble, while the once ruling mainline family lays in tattered ruins, split between Yeyin, a crime lord through his own works, and Zihun, a veteran and farmer, their mother having left to her orignal family to start again. Yet not all was lost, as Yeyin's trophy wife, a Regalian Sihai Godborn named Zhyang Gao-Li, fled her husband and handed off her children to the honourable Zihun before disappearing. Those four children are still alive today and, while just as broken and traumatised as the rest of their extended family, especially after learning who their real father was and the death of Zihun's wife during a raid by the Akula, they are all far more connected than any of the rest of the family is, and maintain loyal to each other despite the touch of their separate dimensions often not getting along, and even despite the distances they have now travelled from one another. Though this doesn't even mention Yeyin's other children, all rogues and scallywags the lot, serving either his interests or their own across Aloria. Then there are also the cousin lines, which continue their bickering, though are still loyal to the service of their ancestors, and continue their disillusion from the mainline family. To say that the Li family is in decline from these facts is clearly untrue due to the rapid growth that the Li's still have today, though to say they are chaotic is an understatement in the least. ____________________________________________________ Lineages Mainline Family:- Patriarch | Hiliao Asoshu Li, Sihai, 90 (Died age 56). A cunning general and tactician, Hiliao only wanted to continue his family traditions and make sure that his sons would help secure their own and his legacy for years to come. Though this came at the cost of his life, as his doting broke his youngest, and killed his eldest. (UNPLAYABLE) - Matriarch | Hijin Seisagei Chen-Li, Sihai, 88. Hijin was once a proud and powerful woman, willing to do anything for her family, especially after raising the station of her birth family through her marriage to Li. Yet with his death and claims of her failure, Hijin has now resigned herself to that role, letting go of the Li name to not disgrace it further, and joining her family as a bitter, sad sailing merchant. (UNPLAYED) - Son of Hiliao | Mayin Kuraxia Li, Sihai, 69 (Died age 35). Mayin was one of the most talented soldiers in the Sihai Kingdoms, yet sadly he was struck down on the Jade Walls like so many others. Yet tales of a unknown man flying the flag of House Li, fighting the Akula no matter the damage emerge, with many believing that it is Mayin, returned as an Undead. (UNPLAYED) - Husband of Mayin | Lüliao Mailang Suk-Li, 60 (Died age 36). Lüliao was raised by House Li after the death of his parents, and as such was extremely loyal to them for all they had done. After Meyin's death however, and the betrayal of Yeyin, Lüliao blamed Yeyin, challenging him to a duel. Lüliao lost and was decapitated. (UNPLAYABLE) - Son of Hiliao | Zihun Haixia Li, Sihai, 62. Former soldier turned farmer after he lost his leg and his brother turned to a life of crime and killed their father, Zihun now lives in relative peace, only occasionally returning to service as a drill instructor. (UNPLAYED) - First Wife of Zihun | Suyang Seilei Feng-Li, Sihai, 60 (Died age 57). Loong Dragon priestess from a small seaside town who helped heal the Sihai military on occasion, before her untimely death at the hands of the Akula. (UNPLAYABLE) - Son of Hiliao | Yeyin Neinari Li, Sihai, 58. Former solider turned patricidal crime lord, working out of Dexai under a kingpin and constantly travelling to increase his decadence and form new criminal alliances, as well as to meet new people to incorporate into his new, growing family. (UNPLAYED) - First Wife of Yeyin | Zhyang Gao-Li, Godborn Half-Teledden, 50. Yeyin's trophy wife originally from Daendroque who fled from her husband and left her children with her husbands brother before disappearing, never having been seen since. (UNPLAYED) - Son of Zhyang | Mabai Louban Li, Sihai, 28. Void Caster with an affinity to flame who became a mage due to him becoming inspired by tales of the Sihndar, wanting to betray his uncle who lied to his siblings and him about their true parentage, and wanted to fight fire with fire. (UNPLAYED) - Daughter of Zhyang | Yemura Jalaqui Li, Sihai, 25. Geist and former soldier who went crazed after her adoptive mothers death and the truth of her parentage being revealed, who fled north only to find Frisit's embrace through a strange weapon. (UNPLAYED) - Daughter of Zhyang | Liyin Iliira Li, Sihai, 23. Archon nature lover with high aspirations to help reshape the world with her Draconic powers and Heksen studies, as well as to learn more about her mother, the Dragons and the world within the city of Regalia. (PLAYED) - Son of Zhyang | Liyin Houxia Li, Sihai, 23. Marken hunter and soldier of fortune who loves nature like his sister to the point that he has somewhat embraced the wolf within, but also to combat the Void that taints his homeland. (UNPLAYED) - Second Wife of Yeyin | Aminata Isla Tounkara-Li, Songaskian, 44. A terrifying Ordial Mage and crime lord's daughter from Diernali, Aminata proves herself a sadistic and useful torturer and "recruiter" for her beloved Yeyin, while helping her own people against the Qadir. (UNPLAYED) - Child of Aminata | Bakaye Yeyin Li, Half-Songaskian, 22. Also known as the Black Ronin, Bakaye is a brutal if efficient enforcer for his father across Dexai and beyond. His loyalty to his family however is equal with his longing for a greater purpose beyond that. (UNPLAYED) - Son of Aminata | Gascar Hiliao Li, Half-Songaskian, 20. The overambitious Gascar enjoys nothing more than fighting and facilitating fights in Dexai, wanting to become the strongest fighter there is no matter what, to impress his father and mother, and crush their enemies. (UNPLAYED) - Wife of Yeyin | Chisisi Asim Nabil-Li, Half-Asha, 30. Chisisi was married off to Yeyin in order to secure an alliance with the criminal underworld of the Sihai Kingdoms and her pirate father. And while Yeyin has her fun with her husband, and is funded for her piracy, tales of her "exploits" with others are not uncommon. (UNPLAYED) - Son of Chisisi | Comar Neliao Li, Half-Asha, 6. A young child, Omari shows innocence even among the darkness of the criminal underworld, though expresses his love for his mother more than his father due to the adventures she takes him on upon the high seas.
