Lark birds sing as ravens croak, the fields of plunder and strife lies crowded with bodies long since passed over. The fall of House Mac Dónairt following the clash of the two Rí Tuath in 295AC left the family cast to the wind and in ruin- sons and daughters of the Gray Plaid slaughtered, holdings plundered and heirlooms seized. Those of the House that survived were sentenced to a life among the courts of allies and associates- a place of limbo filled with empty promises of revenge, all while enjoying the luxuries of their class only at the generosity of families more successful than their own. With the archives and grand histories of the family warmed by the torch, what remained of the family's more ancient history was cast to the wind- carried along like a lone flame by the remaining survivors. Yet as so many who mean to burn forget- the embers of the family had not been stamped out. The Heir of the Gray Plaid, son of Low-King Mac Dónairt- Cillian Mac Dónairt had been sent by creaking ships across the roaring seas to the far west, upon Regalian shores. There he was protected, warded by an up-shooting cousin house of the Family's, the prideful lions of House Mac Conall. It was here the man grew, surrounded by the wealth of The Regalian Empire- versed in her politics and history. Yet the fabled memories of his homeland pecked like hummingbirds in his head, Cillian would return numerous times throughout his schooling in the Regalian Admiralty to seek out other lost members whom had been banished to alien courts. With limited luck however, all he was able to afford were trinkets and artifacts of his family, sold to merchants along the journey there, or seized and re-delivered by the generous courts of prior allies to the House. In recent years, with the rise to power of House Mac Conall and the support he offered his cousin, Patriarch Grand-Duke Alastair Mac Conall, Cillian found himself rewarded both in government posting and the being granted the title over the Duchy of Wickthur. Organizing the funeral of General Eddair Mac Conall, establishing the Shattel Agricultural Committee and being appointed as Minister of the Whip under Her High Eminence Madelyne de Azcoissia's Chancellory- Cillian learned both through failure and success that loyal service in protecting the Empire and the citizens he ruled over was a reward in and of itself. Adopting his own set of political beliefs- being a proponent of the Judicial Standard, he tries to balance cultural adherence with his duty to govern in the manner he deems the best. In the year of 309AC, following Imperial appointment, Cillian was granted his own holdings in Continental Regalia with the opportunity to re-ignite the name of his family. With Grand-Dukeship in tow, the Gray-Plaid of House Mac Dónairt was made anew under the new sigil of House Gallagher, a ringed buzzard- the very same creature that delivered the unfortunate news of his family's defeat accompanied with the last trinket Cillian's mother gave prior to his departure, clutching an Ériunin hunting bow. With this, accompanied by a personal oath of Imperial Loyalty above all else, alongside the preservation of his homeland's culture.
