- Family History -
House d'Monial, natives of Fendarfelle for four generations. Their transition to this north western land began with the desire to settle anew after a fall in market value causing the wine they sold to drop over fifty percent in price throughout the southern sections of Ithania. Acting quickly as to avoid the destruction of their carefully maintained fortune and reputation, Winoc Moni closed shop, selling off his vineyard and gathering up the remaining members of his family to journey north with a number of other champagnards.

The expedition proved relatively peaceful, aside from the oftentimes discomforting ride along unkept roadways. Their arrival in the village of Monial was met with respectful ignorance, the people there had little desire to meddle in the affairs of newcomers as they trotted off to tend their respective fields. Their first course of action, a visit to the local Lord, purchasing a plot of land and sending couriers out to acquire quality stone and lumber for the construction of their new family chateau. The process of construction coupled with the clearing and planting of their four acres of territory took a reasonable toll upon what remained of their fortune.

Following the next few months income soared, the Fendarfellen markets proved profitable for the family's output of wine, using this newfound capital Winoc expanded their platform to include fields of cotton and wheat, growing in size and power until the death of their patriarch, leaving Oliver Moni, firstborn and only child of Winoc and Iris to take up the reigns. Oliver shared a great deal of traits with his late father, an eye for business and a gregarious attitude allowing him ease of access into local society. At the age of thirty four he married a local woman, second born daughter of a nearby count by the name of Maeva. Dowry provided, a lovely wedding which was attended by the local rabble proved for an intriguing eve. In the following years the couple had two children, Florian and his younger sister, Elise.

The plantation remained relatively stagnant, profits continued at an even rate, all remained peaceful. Oliver in his later years made the decision to re-brand the family, for they had a new home, far from that of their ancestors, weeks of debate over the topic with his wife and children lead to the adoption of the surname d'Monial, after the village in which they have made their haven. Oliver passed away, in his late eighties, leaving Florian to inherit what they had delicately preserved. Early in life, a mere decade before the death of his parents, Florian married Lise Bordeu, child of Maxime Bordeu, Lord of Monial. With her the couple had three children, Alan and his twin sister Laurelle, a few years following, an additional daughter named Irene.

Wishing a future possibly more prosperous than that of time past, Florian and Lise chose to send their children off to the Regalian empire so that they might make a name for their family in the center of political life, arguably throughout the world itself. A recent small purchase of lands in Loiree would prove as the first quick stopping point for their trip to Regalia, the lands there proving a small expansion for the vineyard and an arrival location for wine from Fendarfelle to the archipelago. During their journey southward they encountered a man, self-exiled and on his way back home. Known as the fallen-Prince Thomas once-Kade, during their expedition to the empire they became friends, and continue such a relationship to this day.

In the weeks following their arrival and settlement in the city the d'Monial family secured a larger and more permanent residence after gathering and sorting the funds they brought with them, the winery's main location was shifted over to Loiree for ease-of-access, and their original townhouse was placed up for auction. Alan and his sister Laurelle lead the bulk of their integration into society, attending a number of social gatherings and parties as well as becoming acquainted with numerous high ranking political and noble figures. Nearly a month after their initial coming to the city Alan Hufonce d'Monial was granted a County in Loiree, elevating their house to nobility.
