The females of the Chiyo line definitely differ from the males in terms of appearance, being normally shorter and skinnier. They are often encouraged to keep their hair long, aside from trimming it to keep it healthy. Hair colors are almost always black, although offspring from outside families may have darker brown hair. The women make it a point to keep their hair healthy, it often being silky and fine in appearance. All women, like men, have golden eyes, aside from rare, half-bred offspring. Shades and coloration differ only slightly. Their eyelashes are thicker than average, making their eyes look bigger in appearance. Often, skin tone is pale, with warmer undertones. Woman almost never spend enough time outdoors to tan, as they're encouraged to rather stay inside. Their jawlines are V-shaped, while cheekbones are mostly always shallow.
While the females tend to be shorter and skinnier than average, males are almost always taller, with leaner figures, with most being encouraged to learn at least a little of some form of combat. Their jawlines are very sharp, much like the rest of their facial features. Aside from the majority of the main line, their hair is kept quite long, often being tied up or braided, to be kept away from their face, though all males, like females, take it upon themselves to keep their hair healthy. Since males are more likely to spend time outside, their range of skin tones is slightly wider than their female counterparts'. Hair color also differs more, with it being slightly more likely for males to have darker brown hair.
