    History

House Avalleia is a family of mixed Teledden and Solvaan nature. It claims a lineage originating in the north of Hyarroc, in the bogs by the Talaï Sea. This began with a man named Hïthaellon. Familial legend holds him to be the product of a loveless union, an Archmage set to wander the world without master or goal. It is known that he existed, and that he was a participant in the Mage Wars. Contemporary sources suggest that the austere man had a bad relationship with his oftentimes excessive, debaucherous Princely patrons, and this caused him to quit Teled Methen for Solleria in search of individuals more agreeable to his frigid and prudish personality.

Being well-versed in the Occult, Hïthaellon imprinted this curiosity onto his successors, the family he would eventually come to found. Due to his efforts, the name ‘Avalla-Loseia’ began to appear in the records of Sollerian marcher-lords, frequently attached to an Arcane ministerial position. The slow degeneration of the Allorn Empire after the Mage Wars was a world away to the fledgling unlanded House, and while they must have watched with concern much like the rest of their countrymen, their involvement was nonexistent. The following patriarch, Tasallon, upheld the family until approximately 100 AC. Through a well-timed romantic bid, his son Finärhen claimed the bloodline of an aging Sol, and upon his death, the current Avalleia crownland of Avalla Loseia became theirs.

The House Avalleia has recently come into the realization of many of its ambitions which, even a decade ago, seemed entirely out of reach. Since Finärhen, two generations of rule and one deferred title acceptance have passed, and much has changed. Eïsul-Solleria, the southernmost of the great Elven islands, has come wholly into its grasp. This increase in power brings House Avalleia to the Regalian capital, in the interest of representing its Elven vassals. It wishes to serve as the hand which brokers with its ancient homeland, and the fleet that keeps the way there safe.

    Lineage

Avalleias can be expected to be either Teledden or Solvaan depending on where they are in the family tree. While the House still operates as one regardless of its particular subrace, the wider aims of family members, because of this, can be markedly different to one another. Anyone who is descended from Liravella can be either Teledden or Solvaan. Anyone who is descended from Mälcarno or Cyrillian is Teledden. Anyone who is descended from Rhantallion is Solvaan.

Leadership in House Avalleia normally demands one Solvaan and one Teledden. Those who would be head set aside their respective viewpoints, and adopt whatever stance best suits the current position of the family as a whole. While there is only ever one patriarch, or matriarch, they are commonly expected to ease the burden of decision-making onto at least one extra family member. This is both to lighten the weight of rulership, and also to lessen the chance of internal dissent or coup by keeping siblings and cousins busy.

    Servants and Guards

House Avalleia has had many servants and guards over the months, and often finds itself recruiting more. Oftentimes, these efforts are undertaken ingame, and the best way to go about them is just to approach an Avalleia and ask for work. However, sometimes you want to OOCly know what you’re getting into before you go in, so here’s a quick list of what to expect.

Legality. Avalleia has a relatively strict policy on its servants not engaging in criminal activity.
Altalar. You shouldn’t work for Altalar if you aren’t one or don’t like them. You’ll be seeing a lot of them.
Sparse Deployment. No one likes being followed into every event by seven armored goons. Work is spaced out.
Independence. Conversely, you aren’t going to be micromanaged or pushed around. Schedules are flexible.

    Family Membership

Avalleia is not the same as most other houses. There isn’t an application form, and there aren’t tenets of what qualities we expect or are looking out for, or what characters and family lines are open, because we don’t really believe in that. The family tree can be adjusted, characters can be written or married in. You should just have good OOC conduct, something of a presence, and an interest in accurately representing Altalar. DM Oka if you want to play an Avalleia family member, preferably with a vague pitch, and you’ll get at the very least a conversation about it. Don’t bother with vouchers or anything of the sort. Just show up.

Late response, and I dont mean this to be rude, but Why is it still listed as a noble house if it's defunct?
