Life Story On March the twenty-first, 267 AC, Hjalmar Haagenvig was born. Naught was heard that night but the cries of the newborn baby and the crackle of thunder, as Osvald and Vera Haagenvig experienced the birth of their firstborn son. Raised in the Haagenvig’s Drixagh village, Kopvagr, Hjalmar’s childhood was nothing out of the ordinary. Being a large boy since birth, and being the firstborn son of the most important Velheimer in the village often got to Hjalmar’s head. During these first few years of his life, Hjalmar’s two brothers were born. Valbrand in 269 AC, and Markus in 275 AC. As a teenager, Hjalmar’s life became stricter as his father had to prepare him to one day take over the family business of shipbuilding. When Hjalmar was only fourteen, he met his future wife, Linette Meldgaard, whom he developed a romantic relationship with in the years to come. At sixteen, Hjalmar was sent to the Elgsund Lodge to follow in his father's footsteps of learning the Älgträffar discipline. At seventeen, he took Linette as his Sol-Kvinne, and his first and only son, Asbjorn was born a year after, followed by their daughter Aela a year after that. Balancing fatherhood with his training at the lodge proved to be a difficult task for Hjalmar, but nonetheless, one that he proved up to. Hjalmar continued his training, earning a reputation as a fine warrior among his people with his skills. Temporarily, his wife and kids moved into a village nearby Elgsund Lodge, where they would live for the next decade. Hjalmar would take his training as an Älgträffar seriously, and there they hammered him into the man that he would become today. Now, Hjalmar looks back at his time there rather fondly, with his memories and the friends he made there sticking with him. Finishing his training at the lodge at age twenty-eight, Hjalmar returned to full-time living at Kopvagr. Some years later, Hjalmar was made patriarch of his house. All was fine until tragedy struck Kopvagr in 295 AC, when a neighboring tribe laid waste upon their village. Several people who called Kopvagr their home were killed, and among the body count, Hjalmar’s beloved, Linette. In the following months, Hjalmar sought isolation to cope with such a loss, rebuilding Kopvagr when he could. In 303 AC, Hjalmar, with the help of Valbrand, sailed to Regalia, establishing their family name there. Two years later, he gave the title of patriarch to Valbrand, who happened to be the more politically gifted of the two. Enjoying his past few years in the city, Hjalmar awaits what the future might have in store for him.
