History Of The House Delacroix

The House Delacroix comes from a most peculiar of beginnings. Disownment isn't cause for anything too out of the ordinary, but the context of which the disownment came to be is quite on the far end of the spectrum of what is ordinary.

On the eleventh day of the month of March in the year of 305 AC the House to become known as Delacroix was formed. The sole member of this House was once a member of another House prior to this date. Nicolas Francois d'Eluise was the younger brother of the Duchess Madeleine Fabienne d'Eluise. The second male born to the House d'Eluise. As the second male, simply a male in general, Nicolas was to receive no titles, no lands, nothing but a name which to use for the purposes of marriage. Now this is a well and accepted situation for untitled members of noble families, but Nicolas carries a disturbed philosophy. A philosophy of being an independent entity.

On the ninth day of the month of July in the year of 304 AC, the second male of House d'Eluise took drastic measures to ensure his independence. In an act of blind hatred towards his sister, Nicolas enacted self castration to himself thus rendering him useless to the family. Various philosophies and inner voices contributed to this moment of self destruction. Voices telling him that he is not a man but a woman and thus should make himself such. Voices telling him that only women can hold titles as Ithanians and therefore he should make himself one to gain such prestige. Yet voices still telling him that he is worthless and should make himself physically reflect such. All of these voices defied the logical nature of the d'Eluise and in an instant, he became nothing.

Several months pass following the act. During that time, Nicolas returns to Ithania to practice surgery there and reflect upon his actions. It took quite some time to adjust to life as a eunuch. One by one, Nicolas addressed each of the philosophies the voices in his head expressed to him. Whether or not he viewed himself to be a her was not relevant. She was asexual, therefore if she should identify herself publicly as female it would make no difference. If she did choose to present herself as such no one would accept this new reality. She would be viewed as a homosexual and with no public offspring, only a life of suffering would become her. So in that moment she accepts to remain a he as that would be the most logical option so not to destroy himself further. Eventually all of the philosophies of the voices are answered to best serve this entity. Unsure whether male nor female, but opting for a public life as male so not to destroy herself.

In due time, Nicolas d'Eluise returns to the commonwealth following various circumstances ranging from Bone Horrors to Freya Lo. Within the short return, Nicolas attempted his best to act in the best interest of his family. Adopting the personal motto of "By Any Means Necessary." By any means Nicolas will do what is necessary for the House d'Eluise. Upon his return he joins the Theomar's Lances chapter of the Bluesteel Order. In a short time he ascends to the position of Primarch, a member of the Lances captaincy. However, circumstances transpire which resulted in the formation of the House Delacroix.

The eleventh day of the month of March in the year 305 AC arrives. Madeleine Fabienne d'Eluise comes across the diary kept by Nicolas. In it he has written confessions of his self castration and his life adjusting to such circumstances. With this newfound knowledge that Nicolas has rendered himself unmarriageable and a risk to the family, the Duchess disowns him.

With nothing to his name the newly established Delacroix is at a peculiar position. While operating as a captain in the Bluesteel Order as well as continuing his medical practice elsewhere he may live comfortably, however, such is not the case for the wandering mind of the Delacroix. While this circumstance resulted from a contribution of wishing to be free from politics, Nicolas Renee Francois Delacroix has decided upon entering the game. Is it a longing of being nobility or perhaps a power complex? Even an inkling of boredom and finding amusement in the nuances in engaging in the game? All truth and falsehood. The motives of the Delacroix are as vague and nonsensical as his own philosophies. A game of voices and arguments existing within the deepest parts of her brain. Thus concludes the brief history that is the House Delacroix.
