Hannes tends to express his happiness in solitude. Be it a walk in the park, or simply a day relaxing at home, Hannes prefers to enjoy his contentedness by himself. He tends to take a more meditative approach, though he can occasionally be seen celebrating in a more revelrous fashion, hopping between taverns and such. How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? When experiencing fear, Hannes tries his hardest not to show it. However, whether it be a twitch of the eye or a slight furrowing of the brow, there is always some sort of giveaway. Due to numerous treacherous situations he experienced during his time in Farah'deen, Hannes has developed into quite a bold person. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? Hannes’s temper becomes quite volatile when faced with chronic stress. He's certainly no stranger to violent outbursts during trying times. However, in situations of momentary stress, Hannes has developed the ability to remain quite calm. That is, unless his life or the lives of his loved ones are in immediate danger, in which case he can crack quite easily. How does your character view Law and Authorities? As a means to an end. To him, the more rigid a system is, the more easily he can exploit it to his own benefit. He often presents himself as an obedient, law-abiding citizen, but he can be exceedingly manipulative when the situation calls for it, not hesitating to step on others for his own benefit. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? In spite of growing up in a rather conservative environment, Hannes has a very accepting outlook when it comes to non-Ailor races. His travels have cultivated quite an open-minded attitude towards such things. Though he does harbor quite a bit of fear towards Kathar. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? Hannes lacks strong religious views. He believes in the divinity of the Imperial Spirit, but that’s about it. He views other religions as interesting, but not to be taken seriously. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? Being a man of science, Hannes views arcane practices with distrust. He believes that there is likely a natural explanation for magical phenomena. To him, sorcerers are simply masters of parlor tricks. Those more skilled in magic, however, he tends to fear. How does your character feel towards their family? Hannes has a rather average connection with his family. He prefers his mother over his father, and keeps in contact with his siblings as much as he can. They remain in Anglia, however, so his interactions with them are limited. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? Hannes is most proud of his education. He flaunts his knowledge of the natural world at every opportunity. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? Gaining fame as a renowned scientist. There are a number of specific subjects that arouse his interest, specifically in the realm of ecology. The more large and dangerous the creature, the better. He has a particular fascination with arthropods and snails. Hannes wishes to spread public awareness around the intricacies of the natural world. What is your character's biggest insecurity? His physical appearance. He takes great care to look presentable, often spending up to an hour in front of the mirror each day making sure not a single hair is out of place. What is your character's biggest fear? Being mediocre, or unsuccessful in his career. He's always faced great pressure from his parents to be exceptional, as have his siblings. Even as an adult, he still feels this pressure. Life Story Hannes was born in the city of Axford, to his father, Frans, and his mother, Karolien. Hannes’s father was a very successful merchant, which enabled his family to live a very comfortable life in the upper echelons of Anglian society. Hannes had a very typical childhood consisting primarily of running around the city playing with his siblings. He finished his schooling at the age of 8, and served as an assistant to his father up until he was 13. At the age of 13, Hannes was sent by his father to enroll at the Regalian Diplomatic Academy. Originally, his aspiration was to become a diplomat for the Regalian Empire, but as his schooling continued, his goals slowly changed. After years of traveling and visiting different locales, Hannes began to fall in love with the natural world. The diversity of life across Aloria fascinated him to no end. As such, once he finished his education at the Regalian Diplomatic Academy, he packed his bags and moved to Vultaro, where he enrolled at the Regalian Ecological Academy. He spent his time there surveying the land and gaining extensive knowledge of the various ecosystems present throughout the Regalian Archipelago. He demonstrated strong ambition in his learning, and soon became a skilled ecologist. His education did not stop there, however. After graduating from the Regalian Ecological Academy, Hannes found himself still longing to explore the world around him. He set his eyes on Farah’deen, where he joined the Al-Hamjad Hamanh College. It was there that he developed his skills in medicine, as well as gaining a comprehensive understanding of desert ecology and weather patterns. Once his tutelage at the Al-Hamjad Hamanh College was finished, Hannes packed his bags yet again and moved to the Crown Isle to seek further employment. This is where he currently resides.
