Passing several weeks after the last battle in the Hadravian war, the Crown Prince of Regalia officially signed the truce agreement with the Qadir Pasha. Supported by the State Council, the Empire bought back the fourth Prince and various prisoners in exchange for a truce with the Qadir who now had a free hand at invading the Hadravian State. The political world scene saw Regalia pulling out of the war as a bad thing, after all Hadravia was left to its own devices. Qadiriyye however suffered severely at the last war, losing large armies and suffering an almost crippling Orc-Dwarven invasion in the south. The armies of Osmanliyye and Saruhanna invaded Hadravia, though the war slowed down severely into a guerrilla war.
In Regalia however, public opinion was in favor of the end of the war. The damage to the city from the Qadir occupation had not been undone yet, and the public was satisfied with the treatment given to the Qadir. Relatively speaking, Regalia had been forced out of the war but made a tactical victory in that the Qadir came out considerably worse than the Regalians. As soon as the announcements of the end of the war were made, announcements for the political changes that would wash over Regalia soon were announced.
The Crown Prince officially sacked his father as interim Chancellor, opening the vote for the new Arch Chancellor of Regalia. For the first time since forever, the position of Arch Chancellor was made available to either Nobles or Commoners and either Men or Women. The only individuals permitted to vote were men and women holding titles, who all have a weighed vote proportionate to the land they control. Surely the court would be filled with rumors and intrigue at the new political order that was to be formed.
As if that wasn't enough yet, the Crown Prince created the State Councilman position of Overseer of Colonial Expansion. This office was to be voted for /also/, and anyone who would be voted in to this position (with the exception of people already holding office) would become a Lord of the realm and be granted two Duchies. Furthermore, the interim Lord Commander of the Violet Order Ulric Typhonus was sacked to permit the State Council to vote on a new one. As soon as the State Council would get its 10th member, they would commence to vote for the permanent Lord Commander, a position reserved for male nobility. Ulric Typhonus would remain interim leader until the election was completed.
These three elections would all take place within a month's time on the 18th of July 303, a festival calendar of the summer celebrations. Certainly the political blood of ambitious nobility and commoners alike would start boiling with the potential chances of a new political playground and new leaders. Some would even gossip about the potentiality of a commoner Chancellor, and the effects that would have on the realm.
