WARNING! WARNING! COMPLAINT: used to love this server... Especially the RP. But there is one thing that made me quit.... The Guards.. So strict.. Too strict.. You see.. Here is the story: I pulled out a sword in the tavern for various reasons that are non-violent. All of a sudden... A guard starts chasing me so I run... I keep running and running until I get to the water.. I say in OOC I have to go... So I try to wrap things up by escaping since I have to go, right? Right??? The Guard keeps saying in OOC I'm "God Rping" as I guess he didn't see my "I have to go". The next thing I know... I'm arrested!!!! "You have been put in the jail for 2 hours" This is what made be quit". I personally think the guards are WAAYYY too strict. I understand they have to "arrest" for realistic reasons.. but this is ridiculous! If this is fixed I may... Just... maybe join... But of course no one is going to read this so... Ya go to poll for what you think. Until I get a reply on why this might be or what to do or what not to do... I quit.. Thank You!

Carrying weapons are illegal in Regalia without a permit, not matter what your intentions are with them, so the guard may walk up to you and arrest you for that. You can't just type in -Runs Away-, that's a reportable offence. You can either comply with the guard and let them apprehend you or attempt to fight them. You can read this article for more info: https://wiki.massivecraft.com/Roleplay:Guard_Etiquette

If you get yourself in a tricky situation in Roleplay, then "I have to go" is not a good excuse.

Basically, laws are laws. Pulling out a weapon in a public establishment will likely be taken as a threat even if you do it for "non-violent" reasons because you are still breaking the law.

In other words, "don't start sh*t that you can't finish"

If you have to go and you don't have time to finish roleplaying an escape, then I would recommend simply allowing yourself to be captured, and plead your case while you are arrested.

The main problem(s) I find with this is/are:
1. Why on earth would you pull a /sword/ out, much less in the Tavern. What 'non-violent' scenario would even involve you pulling out a sword in public? I mean, the way I see it, that's the equivalent of pulling out a pistol in a Walmart or something and waving it around. People are gonna think you're going to try to be violent.

2. This isn't really a problem I have, just me saying. The guards, while strict, are only there to help you. They're all experienced roleplayers who've applied for that position, they know what they're doing. When one says you're 'God Rping" they're just trying to point out a mistake to you, and they're asking you to fix it. I dunno where I'm really going with this. So uh, yeah.

lol as a Pvper I don't really have a saying for this, but its not to strict and even I know that Lol.

You said you were "arrested", do you mean jailed? Because being arrested is totaly in roleplay, and dont leave for that dude... Now if you were jailed, then that was probably for god rping or something along the lines of disrupting rp(by quitting). So please specify for me, and I will get back to you.
Also, I dont belive the guards are too strict, but just a bit un agree able, they have each law for a reason though. Every law has a reason, even this one "It is illegal for one to shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel." now this is a real life law, and I am sure there was a reason to make it. Point is, the laws arent too strict, they are just a bit annoying for some people, but I am sure that yourself irl would agree with them.

you should read up on all the lore around guards and law and such, most guards are pretty cool, but to be honest there is always one or two guards ooc who are just mean, but ive done guard rp plenty of times and had to go during some of them, so what usually happens that you tell him you have to go and your character is already at greygate, if they say thats skipping out on guard roleplay then msg a staff and explain the situation or try to go over it again with him so he can understand or make some compromise.
