Main Ambition: Lead all Tresmisae, and create a place where all Tresmisae can be safe from the cruelty of curing or death. Spoiler: Basic Information Describe your character’s position in Regalia. Why are they there? How long have they been there? What is their occupation and living situation? Gox was brought to Regalia by an Ombratore seeking to cause trouble, riding from his native Anglia to the city by means of a covered wagon. Describe your character’s upbringing. Where were they born, to whom? How many siblings do they have? What about their extended family/noble family? Gox has a modest beginning as a farmer in Anglia, born to a peasant family. He had a handful of siblings and a large extended family, now forgotten to him since his descent (or ascent) into life as a Tresmisae. Describe any secondary ambitions your character may have. Short term ambitions, or ambitions that may not be related to your character’s main goal in life. Gox, even uninfected, was a man of simple tastes. His tastes have become even simpler, not caring for fancy clothing such as shirts and shoes. His sole clothing is a pair of ragged pants from his pre-infection days. Gox can speak in short, broken sentences. He speaks slowly, as speaking doesn’t come too easily to him anymore. Beyond this, he generally communicates through grunts and body language. When fixated on something, he has a tendency to repeat certain words. Since his claim to becoming king, he has begun to occasionally speak in third person as “King” or “King Gox”. Additionally he will often speak as “we”; when doing this, Gox intends to speak for Tresmisae as a whole. He was raised illiterate, and now is even more so. Personality and Abilities First Paragraph: When well-fed, Gox can come across as surly and lofty to non-vampires, though still willing to converse on occasion. He can come across as inattentive to them, often dismissing one with a wave of his hand. Those unfamiliar with Tresmisae would likely view him as stupid, he speaks poorly in crude, basic sentences and has difficulty understanding new concepts. As a vampire, he’s often viewed with hatred from the uninfected and any guard would surely attack him on sight. Others may see him with pity and disgust, given his degenerate mind and behavior. Second Paragraph: Gox sees himself as an “alpha male” of sorts, considering all Tresmisae as his to protect. This is not necessarily reciprocated, but he’s more likely to ignore commands from other Tresmisae and try to order them himself. This attitude makes him very arrogant, and protective of his fellow ferals. When accompanied by them he feels at his peak, and his arrogance swells greatly. In recent times he’s declared himself as king of the Tresmisae, and this has greatly increased his lofty behavior. Gox rarely feels self-doubt, this is typically brought on by a drastic change in environment or in a person he saw as close. He deals with this through shoving it to the back of his mind, and moving on with his life. Third Paragraph: The man seems to have no true family beyond other Tresmisae, and friends rarely expand beyond his feral subjects. Gox, seeing himself as the king of all Tresmisae, sees his fellow ferals as loyal subjects to be protected. He puts their well-being before his own, and fights rabidly to protect them. But, sometimes this can come across as nagging as his intense concern causes him to be very clingy with his subjects, constantly asking about their health and feedings. This behavior very rarely extends to non-Tresmisae, if ever. Fourth Paragraph: Although as a vampire, Gox would be considered evil, he truthfully isn’t. Gox does what’s necessary for his own survival. Drinking the blood of others is necessary, and that’s why he does it. Gox has very little interest in non-vampires and doesn’t care what evils they do unless they’re directed to him or other Tresmisae. Gox actually possesses a good morality, as he puts his subjects before anything else. As such he is against the guards, the menace which kills and cures his subjects. Fifth Paragraph: Gox, or Emmeric as he was then, was born in a traditional family with traditional values. He worshipped the Old Gods, and saw the nobility as the necessary ruling class, and he accepted this life as it was. But once he was infected, he rapidly shed all ties to these values and currently identifies with no religious belief as he is too descended into ferality to care about the surface society. Talents Rad Body- Gox’s mutations allow him to move in both quadrupedal and bipedal stances. His natural Tresmisae abilities allow excellent flexibility, as far as Ailor abilities go. These bodily abilities allow him to move with frightening agility and speed, and fluidly change positions to suit his current situation. Crafty- Tresmisae are not necessarily stupid, after all. Gox’s sense of reasoning is certainly lacking, but he is still a cunning predator capable of forming and executing plans. Of course, these are often very basic plans, but they serve their purpose nonetheless. Charismatic- Not to many uninfected, of course. But to other Tresmisae, Gox seems to have no trouble bringing others to his side. His caring behavior and purely altruistic motives fulfill the desire for company all Tresmisae have. Already having a decent following, this only adds to his appeal. Additionally, his firm, unyielding desire to lead makes him an effective, if incoherent at times, speaker. Weaknesses Short Fuse- He’s quick to fly into a blind rage at the drop of a hat, for many reasons. Plans going wrong, or seeing another Tresmisae in danger is a sure way to set him off, along with countless other triggers. When there’s no direct thing to blame, Gox will often release his anger into whatever, or whoever, is nearby. Intelligent as he is for a Tresmisae, this is one of his major weaknesses, and what most commonly puts an end to his plans. It’s difficult for him to calm down after beginning a fit, often only cooling off when he’s tired himself out. Paranoid- To Gox, all people fall into three main categories: Tresmisae, non-Tresmisae, and enemies. In his way of thinking, all enemies are non-Tresmisae, so he is wary of anyone not of his bloodline. This leads him to have few friends outside his bloodline, and have a constant suspicion that nearly all non-Tresmisae seek to harm him and his people. Battle-worn- Through his many brawls over the years, Gox has accumulated numerous scars; some major and some minor. These major ones are more easily wounded or more sensitive. These include his right shoulder, a few ribs, and scattered patches of skin on his upper arms. Gox has a tendency to fidget when bored or nervous, scratching at the floor beneath his feet with both his fingernails and toenails, and twitching his face in a variety of bizarre ways. As a young child, Emmeric learned to speak Anglian from his parents, and general knowledge from a local tutor. At nine he began helping his father and older brothers in the farm, mostly herding the chickens. At twelve, Emmeric started actual work in the field. The days were long and hard, but he had accepted this as his lot in life. At fifteen, Emmeric was late getting back to the house one night. It was night, and he was tired from work. A lone Tresmisae bit, and infected him. Emmeric ran away from that field where he was bit, and lived in isolation for a time, craving the company of his own kind. Eventually, at seventeen, Emmeric ran into a pack of fellow Tresmisae, and rapidly became involved with them. It was at this time that he began losing track of his previous life as a simple farm boy. Emmeric found he had a knack for thinking. Seemingly not as mentally degenerated as the rest, he could devise plans, and form long-term goals. Gox, as he now began calling himself, continued living with this pack for several more years, until his journey to Regalia. Gox, now twenty-one, and several other Tresmisae of his pack were lured to a large covered wagon with a bloody trail. The driver of this wagon, an Ombratore with a lust for mischief, took them to Regalia, where they were released into the sewers. This was the entrance into a new phase of his life, as Gox rapidly shed all remaining memory of his old life. Gox began to pick up snatches of Common, slowly but surely learning the basics of it, as he forgot his own native Anglian. The years pass, each much the same as the last, with Gox floating from pack to pack and feeding off unlucky souls who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. One day, deep in the sewers, Gox had a sudden thought, a dream to lead his kind, the Tresmisae. To create a place where they could be happy and together. In these modern times, Gox has gained a decent-sized following of Tresmisae who recognize him as king, which has only continued to grow.
