A small letter was left on the boards scattered about Newtown for all to see... Hm what could it be now?

As of last night, myself and some others were at Arenacourt. In our Golems doing target practice in the arena with some of our own targets we had brought along with us and our bows. This was mostly a test run to see how well the Golems worked when using ranged weaponry. What is so wrong about that? Apparently according to the guards, we were in violation of Regalian Law One and Two. The laws in question are as follows.

Regalian Common Law One --Bearing weapons or armor outside of permit clearance, or bearing weapons or armor in government buildings and offices without the appropriate right to do so is illegal. All Nobles are exempt from this law.

Regalian Common Law Two --Trespassing, breaking entry, refusing to leave, or entering forbidden areas inside otherwise public buildings is illegal. Property owners may revoke entry rights, forcing departure. All Titleholders are exempt from this law.

It is to note, when I looked further into these rules. It is actually considered legal by Regalian Law to in the Arena. That anyone can openly use normal sparring weapons, such as blunted ones. We were using arrows with blunted tips. On top of that, all of us were experienced in shooting in one way or the other. We were not in any way at risk of hitting anyone, even if there was anyone around to begin with. Only a handful of people, maybe around four or five had stopped to watch us here and there, but before the guards had shown up we had been there for little over an hour with no issues. This goes into my second point.

The guards had also accused us of terrorizing people around us, meanwhile we had never once pointed our arrows at someone. Never had anyone ever prior asked us to leave nor seemed threatened or alarmed by our presence. Guards had also said us being openly in our Golems without a permit is illegal. Which I have come to find is also false. Golems are in no way shape or form actual armor, it's just machinery.

Last time I had checked, we did no trespassing as Arenacourt is a public place. Had we entered into one of the shops surrounding Arenacourt and asked to leave but refused I could see it. But it is again even in Arenacourt, nobody had ever asked us to leave prior. When we questioned the guards on why they were arresting us, they threatened to add resisting guard arrest to our charges. Which we never did, we all complied with the guards willingly and put away our bows and arrows the moment we were asked to. We allowed them to take us to Greygate without a fight for questioning.
And finally this is the part I'm likely more or less the most upset about our of all of this. After our compliance with the guards, they used the reasoning that using Golems was illegal in the city. On top of some other reasons I don't quite understand, they had destroyed all our Golems as far I'm aware. The loss and destruction of our technology which we had built. And takes a large amount of time and hard to get materials to rebuild. Is less than pleasurable for all of us.

Points given, I say good riddance they're getting rid of the Violet Order soon with all the seemingly corruption in it. Guards making up false accusations and laws on the spot to arrest whoever they like for no reason at all.

"Theseā€¦ 'golems,' as it were, or as they call them, are becoming more and more of a hassle." Valentin shook their head, taking down a few notices from their spots. "Oh how I loathe the limited intellectual capacity of these people. I do not blame the guards one bit; good on them. I wish they could arrest people for being stupid."

The tired Avanthar took one of the notices, giving it a read over. "Why are they surprised? Isā€¦ Is this some sort of joke and I'm missing the punchline?" He looked around for a moment to see if anyone was watching him to prove that this was meant to be laughable. "Ah yes, let me shoot random weapons off in a crowded district. Nothing could ever go wrong."

One of the letters had found it's way into Joanna von Duerr's hand during a morning stroll. The mention of engineered automata was certainly of interest to her, though she found the message concerning otherwise.

Something about the writing was familiar. She'd need to cross reference other public posts, though that'd have to wait for another day.

With a perturbed hum, Joanna von Duerr continued with her walk, folding up a copy of the concerning letter and placing it in her pocket

This entire notice is heavily skewed, if not blatantly false.

As the goverment official who manages weapon rights and the Violet that oversaw this series of events, I believe that a few clarifications are in order:

- Your entourage was firing ranged projectiles in a crowded district, which is rather unusual for a spar.

- There is no such thing as a 'blunt arrow'. A bluntly-tipped arrow is still a lethal weapon; it is however, reserved mostly for hunting and sport, given its superior preservation of pelts.

- There is no law that states that the Arena District is exempt from Common Law 1. I grant specialized permits for combat teachers, instructors and those who wish to spar regularly.

- You did not comply with arrest until your leader ordered you to.

- Not once did we charge you for using the strange technology you did. In fact, the Occult Minister was brought in to verify that your machines were legal.

- Your lengthy processing came from your active, non-chalant confession of being involved with (and potentially leading) a homicidal criminal syndicate and for misuse of Mercenary Contracts (thus leading to a violation of Common Law 1).

- The destruction of your 'Golems' was a mercy and a plea deal given to you by the Occult Minister in placement of jailtime.

- Some in your entourage did not even bother communication and simply 'vanished' out of your machines whilst in the cells. If jailtime had actually been given, this would've been a violation of Common Law 12. This was another mercy we granted to you. I recommend that you do not spit on it.

A certain blue-eyed Maraya reads over the notices with what seems to be a crystalline looking-glass.

"Well," the medic exclaims as she concludes her morning literature with the commissioner's notice. "What did we learn from this?"

"Don't be stupid. Or at least keep it to yourself if you're going to be."
