Good Night.

Juliette stood in the center of the doorway to the top lounge of the Golden Willow Tavern. All the others that had occupied the room earlier had migrated - as Jamie had said before he'd ruffled her hair and called her a bird - once more to another room. Separate rooms really, as all of them had separated to go their own ways. Only one had stayed in that room - all by himself as he claimed he needed to find something. Juliette had only gone past the landing when she'd heard the sound of breaking porcelain and when she returned to the room where Tanoro insisted he remain alone, he was knocking back a chair.

Julie didn't make a sound or a move to give herself away, not like the Viduggla would notice in his desperate rage. He'd kicked over a chair and brought his foot down on it when she finally decided to enter the room and try to calm the boy.

"Tanoro."
He ignored her. Juliette's mouth twisted into an annoyed frown as she repeated herself once - no twice and still received no answer. It wasn't until he tossed his coat to the floor that he stopped, a tiny portrait of a fair lady falling from the pocket and tumbling to the floor. He paused and looked at it, examining it as if it were dangerous before slowly kneeling to pick it up. He rose with the small painting in hand when he noticed the Vauclain by the doorway, the one that had witness his whole fit.

"How long have you been standing there?"
His words were a bit uneven, laced by a shaken tone of dread. He shuddered a moment before looking up towards Juliette, awaiting her answer that took a long moment to come. She stood in silence for what seemed almost a full minute and a half before she finally answered with a fairly bland, yet startling statement.

"Long enough."
The shortness in her tone was obvious and she flinched her gaze away to the floor where the shattered mug remained, a broken reminder of his panic. He slowly pulled himself from the room, followed closely by his friend and when they paused to chat it didn't take long for the real reason behind his freak out was revealed.

"My sister, she's come to Regalia."
The answer was confusing to say the least - Julie knew that Tanoro had known for at least a week that his sister would be coming to Regalia. It was then that Tanoro added that he was not only his sister that had come to Regalia, but his unwanted and unneeded brother - older and better by the Viduggla's standards. By then he'd decided that leaving was the only option for now and Tanoro had begun his march out from the tavern - followed closely behind by Juliette. When Tanoro finally confronted her for following him, they had neared the docks - and the bridge to the Imperial Palace. The Vauclain had been trying to strike a deal with him. Tanoro suddenly spun around with a scowl.

"Juliette, you don't understand.

"Why won't you help me understand?"

"You will never understand."

"Why not?"

"Just..imagine.. being in a place that you'd always known, and this place had you in chains where you could only go so far either direction. For fifteen years. Now imagine, you're suddenly set free and you want to run and jump, but you can't because you have this damn voice in your head telling you that you can't do it."
Juliette looked taken back, she knew that he had a bad childhood but.. it in words, in that explanation was..unsettling.

"Ignore the voice. Listen to mine, listen to Lizzy's."
Tanoro chuckled, it wasn't a pleasant one as he gave her a sorry look, shaking his head.

"This one is louder."
With that, he turned and began to make his way down the flight of stairs that lead to the next district, Juliette hesitated before shouting out a last hope that he'd understand.

"We love you, Tanoro! You're like my brother and you..you are Elizabeth's everything, probably!"

"I know."
She bit back her snickering at his know-it-all answer. Tanoro was disappearing down the staircase by then, maybe he'd still hear her.

"You'll be okay, right!"

"Of course I will! Good night!"
Juliette stood there, despite the fact that he had been broken meer minutes ago, he seemed to have recovered at remarkable speed. She called out to him once more for a very last time.

"Spirit bless, Tanoro!"
She didn't think he heard her, as there was no response.
